Costentyn, Tor Down Quarry

This was our 2nd visit to this lovely lodge.

Set in an old quarry it is so peaceful with plenty of wildlife. The lodge is very comfortable with the added bonus of a hot tub. Plenty of places to visit in the area and a great local pub. The lovely owners are very friendly and helpful. I'm sure we will return next year.

The Lodge was very cozy and peaceful.

We saw lots of wildlife when we arrived and throughout our stay which was lovely to see. Upon arriving to the lodge it was clean and tidy. Even had home made scones with jam and clotted cream which was delicious. Only thing we wish we had different was a different frying pan as it burnt food easily or two frying pans. But overall lovely time as Hot tub was great with a lovely view and a fantastic view of the night sky too.The bed was very comfy too. Would definitely recommend this lodge for anyone who wants a peaceful lodge surrounded by wildlife and nature.

We had a great stay and appreciated the little welcome pack of milk, scones cream and jam.

The lake was lovely on a hot day and coming back after a long day out and using the hot tub was a bonus. The lodge was as described and was very homely. This is a pet friendly accommodation although dogs can’t be left in the property on their own ( this is in the welcome pack but might be helpful to know before hand) this didn’t effect us as unfortunately our dog went over the rainbow a few moths before our stay but if we had brought him it would of impacted our stay as he was old and couldn’t go out on long walks. Would recommend this property to others who enjoy a nice quiet break in Cornwall.

A wonderful week spent in this cute an cosy lodge.

The surroundings are beautiful situated in an old quarry with rabbits galore and plenty of birds. The hot tub was an added bonus and much appreciated as was the local pub serving delicious food at a reasonable price. We certainly enjoyed the local area. Many thanks to the lovely owners and I'm sure we will return

We stayed in Costentyn lodge at Tor Down Quarry.

Owners are lovely, friendly and very helpful. Only had one issue during stay with wifi going down and they was straight on it to fix it. The cabin was just what needed, very clean and tidy, the hot tub was brilliant even in the light rain,(may be a roof over in the future for use all time). The lakes are great. There are lots of places to go out and visit around the area.

Lovely Holliday lodge, very peaceful and quiet area, tucked away.

Lots of wildlife on our doorstep, we saw deer, rabblts, slow worms and a weasel! The hot tub was very clean and relaxing under the night sky with very little light pollution and a starlit sky! We were lucky with the weather, not a cloud all week. Bed very comfy and a good shower! There is a local community shop in the village run by volunteers that sell most provisions. Good pub in the village for eating out. We chose this lodge as it has an enclosed decked area for our dog. We really enjoyed our stay and have already booked to return.

Just returned from a relaxing week at Tor Down Quarry.

Comfortable, clean lodge with great hot tub that was very relaxing in evening watching the sun set. This was a perfect holiday with our dogs who enjoyed swimming and paddle boarding with my children in the lakes onsite. Kristy was very friendly and gave us and our dogs a warm welcome with lovely homemade scones and treats for our dogs. Will definitely be returning next year.

Really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation and setting were perfect, and hope to stay there again.

We had a great time, at costentyn tor down quarry, cleanliness was excellent, hot tub was ready for us, kirsty was very friendly and very nice, she made sure we were OK.

I think the Tor Down Quarry sign board must be bigger at the entrance, and access to the lake was too bushy. Otherwise I will recommend the place to friends, we loved it there and will be back

We had a lovely stay, I arrived to a Cornish cream tea and some treats left for our dogs.

Kirsty also walked up to greet us to check everything was ok. Everything is clean and as described. The hot tub was hot on arrival and a really nice treat. The deck is secure to let the dogs lay out if the weather is nice.

A superb setting in an old quarry.

So peaceful, just 3 lodges. On arrival soft music welcomed us along with home made scones and cream courtesy of Kirsty the owner ! Molly our Bernese loved it, especially the lake! Off the beaten track but that's what made it so special. Will definitely be returning.

Tor Down Quarry is a must visit, the lodge was clean and spacious with all the amenities you need and the quarry was amazing.

Its location is perfect for Carlyon beach, Adrenalin Quarry, Par Market & Food Hall and Inkies smokehouse and many more. The Old Inn is 1 mile away which serves gorgeous food and cider. Kirsty and John are excellent hosts who will go out of there way to make your stay that little more special. The only sad thing about Tor Down Quarry was going home.

We had a fantastic week in Costentyn and would recommend to anyone.

It was a real home from home with everything we needed and most important to us it was very clean. The classical music playing as we arrived at the property was a lovely touch and set the tone for a very calming holiday. The scones, jam and cream were appreciated and gave us a boost after a day walking the coastal path. The location is idyllic and we loved watching the local wildlife (birds of prey, bats and bunnies to name a few) from the hot tub at the end of the day. Thank you Kirsty for a wonderful holiday.

The hot tub was a lovely touch. The cream tea on arrival was outstanding and a lovely welcoming treat. We would highly recommend and would definitely return.

We had an incredible stay at Kristie and John’s cabin in Cornwall Saint Breward.

The location is perfect, with plenty of nearby activities, and the hot tub added a luxurious touch to our experience. Kristie and John were exceptionally helpful and kind hosts, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We genuinely loved every moment and can't wait to go back again. Highly recommended!

Costentyn Lodge was beautiful, and we really enjoyed our stay.

The lodge had everything we needed for our time there. Very clean, we enjoyed the special little touches when we arrived, a homemade cornish cream tea. The scones and jam was lovely. Treats for our dog too. Enclosed decking area, so great if you have a dog. The quarry was beautiful to walk around, the top quarry seating area was great, so peaceful, beautiful views all around. Bottom quarry had a great seating area too. Great for swimming if you want too. Kirsty and John are lovely, they made sure we knew they were they if we needed anything, very friendly. I have already recommended Tor down quarry to a number of my friends. Keep doing what your doing Kirsty and John, it great.

Had a lovely weeks stay at the quarry.

Kirsty and her family were very kind and helpful but also respectful of your privacy. The views from the lodge are beautiful and having the bbq and bench to enjoy the outside space was fab. We swam in both the lakes such a great addition to have that we could use. They have done a great job with the place. It was a great base for exploring the north part of Cornwal and we would definitely return.

Really nice property and location, perfectly placed for seaside days out and great to have the fishing and swimming lakes on hand as well as the hot tub.

We enjoyed the Camel Trail with the start located just 1 mile away down the hill. Lots of lovely areas to explore like Tintagel, Port Isaac and Padstow within reasonable reach by car. We had to cut our break short but will definitely be looking to re-book when we can.

Amazing relaxing place to holiday ,couldnt believe how warm the water was in the lovely lakes , very friendly and welcoming owners , will be visiting again for sure .

We loved staying at costentyn , the perfect getaway for us, set in our now favourite place in Cornwall and made even better by your family being so friendly and helpful.

Really lovely cabin with amazing views and really well equipped and very clean.

Beautiful surroundings and wild swimming is a must in the quarry pools! Bit disappointed that the hot tub wasn't hot on the first night, understand cleaning is essential and if we'd have known it wouldn't be available until the following day it would have helped. Would also be good to advise guests that you only get one towel each so that you can bring your own for the hot tub if you want. The signal for the tv is pretty glitchy but it's worth the sacrifice for the stunning location. The cream tea and milk was a lovely touch and overall we were really pleased with the cabin and would love to return in the future.

We loved the area and the whole stay was fab.

Kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub was clean and ready for us. It was everything we needed for a home away from home...with a hot tub!

This was a fantastic little break with the family over new year, the lodge was beautiful, and clean, and had all amenities you could possibly need.

Kirsty is a lovely host, she left chocolates, fresh scones with clotted cream and jam, which I thought was a lovely gesture! This has been one of the best holidays we have been on!

We are still here and only a few days in but l can not fault Tor Down Quarry! The lodge is fantastic, it has met all of our expectations! The surroundings are absolutely stunning! We have the choice of two quarries to swim in! Both are picturesque with seating areas if you only want to enjoy the view! Gorgeous sunsets...friendly owners...its just perfect! Not forgetting the Sunday lunch we enjoyed at the Old Inn...perfect!

Great location for exploring Cornwall.

The hot tub at this property really added an element of luxury. It’s perfectly positioned for watching the beautiful sunsets ! Also enjoyed swimming in the private lakes.

Excellent Lodage, Great location, Could not be better.

The place was clean, spacious and comfy, the enclosed decking was perfect for the dog and the hot tub was huge!

Lovely place to stay.

Very Welcome and attentive hosts. Homely touches in the property e.g. cream tea with fresh baked scones on arrival, a radio and a bluetooth speaker. Beautiful views and nature walk. Enjoyed the camel trail cycling which is just on the 'door step'. It will feel better for the environment, to having a separate food waste bin or even a composite on site for food waste. Which can later be used to nourish the Beautiful trees and plants around the site.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tor Down Quarry; we stayed for 7 Nights and were blessed with some fantastic weather.

This was a great base for exploring both North and South Cornwall - and the local amenities of St Breward are just a short walk away. The Lodge benefited from a newly installed Private Hot Tub & Decking which was excellent and proved a great addition for early mornings and evenings. The lodge was spacious and well decorated; WiFi was a little slow but can't be helped in the remote location - (The Hot Tub made up for it). Kirsty provided a warm and friendly welcome and was on hand to answer any questions, the Scones, Jam & Cream were a lovely added touch, thankyou for a great week!.

This was a fantastic place to holiday!

We had a fantastic break despite the weather.

The hot tub was fab and i was very impressed with the WiFi signal too. Lovely touch having cream tea provided. Only thing that we might have found helpful would have been a site layout as we never did find the lakes! Thank you The Millers

This was our second visit to Constantyn at Tor Down Quarry, and we will be returning!

Kirsty and John are really lovely, and nothing is too much trouble for them. On this visit we didn't need them, but on our previous visit we had car issues and they helped us with that. The cabin is beautiful, the beds are comfy, and there is everything you need. We love wandering the quarry land, though we haven't been brave yet and swam in the quarry. The hot tub is great. Its just a lovely place to holiday. Beautiful scenery, loads of great walks, close to some lovely places, we visited all the favourites Padstow, Rock, Port Isaac, Trebarwith Strand etc. And totally recommend the local pub - always busy with locals, a great atmosphere and great food. We will definitely be back!

Our accommodation was very clean and comfortable and was more than we expected.

We had lovely views of the sunsets. Our hosts went above and beyond, with their friendliness and helpfulness. I cannot recommend this accommodation enough.

The cabin was great with a beautiful backdrop and lovey views.

This location is very remote so be prepared to drive everywhere! The other cabins had more outdoor furniture than ours which was a shame as I would have liked to use the outdoor area. More towels would have been nice as we were using the lake and hottub. Having the home appliances was handy and made being away easier. Communications with the owners was good and we very helpful.

Although it was rural it was very easy to visit all the different towns and villages. Would definitely visit again.

in a perfect location, about 30 minutes from north or south coasts, accommodation lovely and clean plenty of space between lodges each with own BBQ area and stunning views.

Comfortable, warm accommodation in unseasonable May weather.

Views are great and the many local footpaths of St. Breward are a delight to discover. Short drives to some fantastic beaches/locations. Easy to walk down to the start of the Camel Trail at Wenford Bridge and the Snail’s Pace Cafe. Cabin was stocked with t-towels, dishcloth, condiments, dishwasher tabs and such. There was some delicious welcome scones and local jam to partake of. (I think I found the local provider of said jam and bought some more to take home. Plenty of roadside eggs to buy in village with honesty boxes.) Hosts were helpful and friendly. I will happily return to stay at the quarry again.

We had a great time staying at Tor down Quarry.

The cabin was very clean and decorated to a high standard, we had everything we needed to relax and enjoy ourselves. The views across the local countryside were beautiful and the lakes were a spectacular place to have fun with the family. we stayed for three nights and didn't feel the need to leave the site as it was such an enjoyable place to be. We arrived late on our first night as traffic was bad but Kirsty made sure that once we had got to the site picking up the key and getting into our cabin was super easy. Once in we were greeted by a delicious plate of local scones along with plenty of tasty jam and cream to go with them which we all enjoyed tucking in to! We highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a great place to relax and unwind.

Lovely friendly welcome from Kirsty and John and felt we could ask if we needed anything. Fantastic touches with dog bowl, poo bags and treats as well as Milk, yummy scones, jam and cream! A unique location which added to our experience. It wouldn’t suit all, but we loved it. It is one of the few places we have been which we would love to go back to. Loved visiting lots of beaches and exploring. We found The cabin very dog friendly and were pleased that the dogs were able to stretch their legs just outside the cabin not always on leads, which always makes life a little easier! Kirsty and John are developing the site which it would have been nice to know before hand, but the quality of the cabins and thicknesss of the windows meant very little noise and also the worker on site we found was very considerate. It’s such a lovely location- we are not surprising they are adding another cabin! We took dressing gowns to walk to and from the hot tub, which I would highly recommend on chilly days/ evenings! Also a torch is required when wandering to the hot tub at night.

The accommodation was bigger than expected and spotlessly clean.

It felt very homely and every single detail was met and catered for plus additional gestures like dog treats etc. The hosts were extremely accommodating, welcoming and happy to share local knowledge and recommendations. Highly recommend and we will be booking again for next summer.

The cabin was great in a lovely quiet location but with easy access to beaches, coastal walks and the moors.

It was well equipped with everything we needed (including good Wifi and Netflix!) We loved the quarry lakes which we swam in every day and Kirsty was very welcoming and helpful.

We had the most amazing 7 days holiday at Tor Down Quarry.

Our cottage was extremely clean and well looked after. The facility of enjoying fishing or relaxing while looking at the two private lakes makes your stay ever more enjoyable. You also have a huge space where to play with your kids and even to enjoy more activities. The amazing traditional scones will be waiting for you when you visit the property. You must try them. They are beyond expectations and homemade by the owner. The owners were very friendly was well and they was very good checking on us every time they had the chance. Will definitely return back.

We had an amazing time.

The location of the cottage is beautiful, and great for people looking to get away from hustle and bustle.The cottage is quaint but has a modern upkeep within that means you're not missing out on your home comforts. WiFi was reliable and speedy. Location is only a 20/30 minute drive from countless activities and key places of interest in Cornwall. The more local area is very nice and a great change of pace from living in a town, though there's not a great deal to do. Only issue we encountered was arriving at night made it quite hard to find and the roads are quite small and hilly which made driving around to find it that bit more difficult.

What a great place, important for me when staying anywhere is a comfortable bed and a decent shower.

We had these but also a beautiful location with brilliant red sunsets, birdsong instead of traffic noise and a well equipped comfortable place to spend the week. Overcome your doubts and swim in the quarry, a beautiful, tranquil place with water that invigorates your mind and body. Add great hosts, walks across the moors, and good road access to all the major attractions and beaches, and I will happily stay here again and again .

This is by far the most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in But the major bonus was the owner and her family.

Not only did we meet them but they couldn't have been any more friendly and welcoming. We were even invited to their BBQ A beautiful setting with great sunset views and the dog loved it The Cornish cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch Thank you Kirsty, John and those wonderful kids We'll be back

Great location- out of village but could walk to pub and close to Padstow.

Cottage tastefully decorated and we appreciated all the extras - bored games, dog bowl, dog treats, kitchen scales, hand wash etc etc. May well book it again

Fantastic holiday with the location and suitability for all ages.

Our family were made very welcome by Kirsty and John and the little personal touches they added made the holiday very special. Kids loved the scones!

Lovely place to stay, exceptionally clean, had tea and coffee left and also washing machine tabs, and washing up liquid and sponges, also dog treats! Kirsty checked on us to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. The lakes were nice to swim in and the area around is nice and peaceful. The village is very friendly and the local pub serves good food. Had a lovely stay and would definitely book tor down again!
