“We spent an absolutely amazing two weeks at Willow Lodge, nestled on the edge of a small wood it's picturesque, secluded and beautiful.”
On arrival we found a delicious cream tea waiting for us and some milk in the fridge, the lodge was very clean and well equipt with everything we needed, including dish washer tablets and hand soap.
Not having to take towels was an added bonus too, the car was already chocker block!
The lodge is a perfect base and is 30-60 minutes away from pretty much anywhere you want to go.
The only thing I would say the lodge could do with is some hooks to keep the doors open as they kept blowing shut when it was windy, and some bath robes for when you get out of the hot tub would be brilliant.
The hot tub itself could do with upgrading as a few of the jets didn't work but it was still a very welcome addition and was used on all but 2 of our 14 days, the kids loved it and after a final dip on the morning we left we forgot to take the swimming things out of the washing machine after spinning them, Anne was kind enough to return them to us along with a light control my son had left behind.
Anne is an extremely friendly host and always on hand to help with any problems, our toaster was only toasting on one side which we said wasn't a problem as the other side side worked fine, but it was still replaced very promptly. She also checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok and was very helpful with some local questions we had.
One tip, if using sat nav during your stay, don't have it set to quickest route, we only found this out in the second week after realising the A30 and A39 will lead you pretty much everywhere, sat nav will take you down all the narrow, winding (and frankly scary at times) roads because it thinks it's the quickest way but because you can't get over 10-20mph it can double your travelling time.
Overall we would highly recommend this lodge and have already started saving to go back.
