“We had a wonderful stay at Orchid, where host Peter was very helpful and just a phone call away.”
The little place was charming, featuring a hot tub, peaceful surroundings, and a secluded setting. It was spotlessly clean and had everything needed for a cozy stay. The fridge was small, so I recommend not bringing foods that require refrigeration. We enjoyed a comfortable visit. It took us some time to learn how to set the right temperature for the hot tub, since it works on a log fire, which we weren't used to. It took us some time to learn how to set the right temperature for the hot tub, since it works on a log fire, which we weren't used to. The water in the shower was slightly warm, but it didn't bother us; I believe Peter would have been happy to fix it if we asked. Overall, it’s a very nicely arranged little place, especially loved the log fire inside. The only improvement I’d suggest is a better way into Orchid through the farm. Bring some wellies if you're there during the rainy season, as it did get our shoes wet walking to and from the car. Perhaps a short pathway could fix this, but I also understand that being surrounded by nature is part of the experience. We highly recommend this place.
