    “The lodge is nice.”

We had a good time. However It looks like some of the carpets are new but really needs an update in other areas though. The decor is very marked and the sofas too. The Hot tub that was a key thing for us doesn’t work properly and there are hardly any bubble jets working. Some of the plastic corners are broken too. We had a good time. However It looks like some of the carpets are new but really needs an update in other areas though. The decor is very marked and the sofas too. The Hot tub that was a key thing for us doesn’t work properly and there are hardly any bubble jets working. Some of the plastic corners are broken too. The beds were comfy but the bedding is poor ( sheets a bit small and duvets too big) and the pillows are flat. In The kitchen the freezer needs defrosting ( the previous guests wrote this too in the notebook left on the table) and an air fryer would be a good edition. The Tv downstairs is awful and keeps losing signal you can’t watch a program unless you persevere . I contacted the host about several issues and The maintenance man had to come out to us to look at the hot tub but said there was nothing he could do and brought hangers for the small bedroom as there were none and to fix the shower head as it just didn’t stay up so again useless. He just swapped it with the the from upstairs? The mechanism needs replacing really. There were cobwebs everywhere around the decking and balcony’s and windows and obviously hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. The glass in the balcony’s wasn’t clean either. The host said the window cleaner was due next week but turned up on our last day. Overall though we enjoyed our stay but I think the lodge is overpriced, needs updating and a good clean.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and had a good time overall. Prior to your stay we answered all your questions, accepted your multiple changes to layout to accommodate your mobility impaired sister. We’re sorry that some aspects of the lodge didn’t meet your expectations. We do take guest feedback seriously and always aim to resolve any issues as quickly as possible as we did. During your stay, we attended promptly to investigate the hot tub and other items you raised. The hot tub was checked and found to be fully operational and you was shown how to adjust the airflow and jets, although we appreciate it may not have performed exactly as you expected. The shower head was also attended to, tightened and upstairs checked too(not swapped) and additional hangers were provided immediately. We explained that defrosting the fridge freezer on the limited time change over would mean it would not be cold on arrival for your pre booked grocery delivery and you did not want it done during the week. Having oversized duvets is normally a plus point and the sheets are the corresponding size for the beds. You did not let us know of any issues with the TV and it appears to be working ok now. Regarding the exterior, the lodge is surrounded by mature trees, an SSI and farmland, so cobwebs can appear very quickly, particularly during warmer weather. We have a regular window cleaning schedule every few weeks and as mentioned during your stay the window cleaner was already booked to attend. We appreciate your comments about the décor and furnishings and unfortunately your stay did not correspond to the new sofas for downstairs being delivered September. While many guests compliment the lodge for its comfort and spaciousness, we recognise that tastes vary, and we continually invest in maintaining and improving the property including the makeovers and new carpets you mention. We apologise for the popularity and demand in peak season for this house that allows multiple generations to stay in generous space and comfort, please feel free to book off season where we are sure you will personally find it exceptional value. Thank you again for your feedback. We’re glad you had an enjoyable stay overall and hope you created some lovely memories during your visit. youhad an enjoyable stay overall and hope you created some lovely memories during your visit.
