Description
Situated on Tolroy Manor Holiday Park, in the hillside just above Hayle, in west Cornwall, is this charming lodge, 32 Trevithick.
Surrounded by nature and wildlife and offering access to a plethora of on-site facilities, 32 Trevithick is a fantastic base for a family or group wanting to enjoy a coastal getaway in Cornwall, within easy reach of St Ives Bay and north Cornwall's Atlantic coast.
Enter this contemporary, stylish property into an open-plan living room, with oak flooring and underfloor heating, with the sitting room offering a large, L-shaped, reclining sofa, big enough to seat the whole group, where you can enjoy a movie night on the Smart TV beside the warming electric fire.
The dining area has a dining table that can seat up to eight, in front of the patio doors, which open up onto the garden area, and offers an ideal spot for enjoying meals together, prepared in the newly fitted kitchen, equipped with all the appliances you could need to prepare delicious home-cooked meals.
There is a tiled, ground-floor shower room with cosy underfloor heating and towel rail, while up the glass-framed staircase, the family bathroom with partial wood panelling, a bath with handheld shower and a heated towel rail can be found.
The three bedrooms are on the first floor; a master king-size double, which has French doors onto a private balcony, along with a flatscreen TV and wardrobes for clothes storage, a double room and a triple room with a set of bunk beds and a single bed, which would be an ideal space for younger guests.
Outside there is off-road parking available, a patio area to the rear with picnic benches, where you can enjoy an alfresco lunch, along with a patio area at the front with outdoor furniture, where you can bask in sunshine.
There are many on-site facilities you can take advantage of, with an outdoor and indoor pool, a squash/tennis court and a bar/restaurant, as well as an RSPB estuary flowing close by, which you can enjoy scenic strolls along and observe fascinating wildlife.
The centre of Hayle is less than a mile from the property, where the estuary flows into St Ives Bay, which offers a two-mile stretch of sandy beach at The Towans, which ends at Godrevy Point, where you will find the lighthouse that stands alone on an island out to sea, as well as Gwithian Beach, which is popular with surfers, while surfing and kayak lessons are available locally, should you wish to brush up on your skills.
Hayle is a walker's paradise, with 'walkers are welcome' status and a plethora of footpaths and trails to follow, as well as attractions to visit like the heritage centre and Paradise Park and Jungle Barn Cornwall, a family-friendly day out where you'll see a variety of birds and animals, as well as offering a children's play area, where the little ones can let off some steam.
St Ives is further along the coast, where you can admire art galleries, sub-tropical gardens, museums and an idyllic harbour, providing boat trips to Seal Island, to observe the seal colonies, as well as trying your hand at mackerel fishing.
Hayle is well-positioned for exploring a wide area of Cornwall with ease, and attractions such as the Minack Theatre, Falmouth Maritime Museum, Eden Project and St. Michael’s Mount are all a short drive away.
32 Trevithick is a fantastic base for a seaside escape in Cornwall with your loved ones.

What guests are saying
Our stay at 32 Trevithick had its highlights, but the property and site amenities definitely need some attention.
On the positive side, the house is a nice, cosy, and comfortable place to stay. The owner was fantastic and attended to any problems immediately, which we really appreciated. The property is quite well-equipped with most essentials, including a small fridge and freezer, an iron, a hairdryer, a clothes drying rack & heated towel rails in both bathrooms, a washing machine, and a mini fan. There was also free Wi-Fi, plenty of towels, and lots of hangers in the wardrobes. The outdoor tap at the back of the house was incredibly useful for washing off sandy clothes and feet after a day at the beach. We also loved the dark curtains, which kept the sunlight out and ensured we weren't disturbed in the morning. However, there were several downsides. The holiday park had limited attractions & the one's which could be used were not of standard. The arcades felt like a rip-off, as many of the games did not work properly & the machines just ate your money with nothing to offer in return. The swimming pool policy was also disappointing; sessions are limited to just 45 minutes, and you are only allowed to book one session per day. Also, there was no table tennis balls available so unable to play. As for the house itself, it felt a bit run-down. We found old, broken furniture, and there were spiders and cobwebs in the corners of every room. The drawers in one of the cupboard was broken and completely unusable, and the beds felt a little too springy. For privacy, it would be much better to have blinds installed, as there are currently just curtains. Finally, it would be a huge improvement if a few other basic essentials were provided such as shower gel, shampoo, salt & pepper in the kitchen and some bin bags. Overall we did enjoy our stay and the location was a bonus being central to most beaches & sights closeby. Also Asda supermarlet was very conveniant to have around the corner as well as other stores & restaurants. The train station was also within distance.
We have stayed at 32 Trevithick 2 years ago hence the reason for our return.
The property is situated in a lovely area, family friendly with lots of great beaches etc. The property was clean and well equipped like last time. There was just a couple of areas to improve on from our previous stay. The mastic in the shower room was black and could do with some attention. The fridge looked like a temporary one far too small for the accommodation. The side panel on work top was coming away near the back door. Just a couple of maintenance issues really, it didn’t affect our stay still very clean and we would definitely return back as location, area and home was great for our family.
If only place is cleaned properly, could be a 10/10.
