I had a wonderful stay at Hilbre, the shepherds hut was a very cosy home in an idyllic location, just a 10minute walk to the sea.
I was very touched by the welcome gifts of scones, eggs, bread, milk & butter I was so grateful after a long day of travelling! The hut has a heater and fan/dehumidifier so I was able to manage the temperature. The shower is great and everything was very clean & beautiful quality. Although the hut is close to the main house, it felt private and I didn't feel overlooked. There is no WiFi inside the hut which would be a helpful addition & good to know in advance. Alison has put a lot of care and thought into providing things for a very comfortable stay, I would highly recommend and hope I get to return one day ~ thank you!
The Shepherd Hut was clean & tidy well finished, excellent value and in a great location, obviously you get what you pay for room is tight with nowhere really to put your stuff.
What was unclear if the Hut sits right behind the main house so you are very much overlooked. Lastly while there is parking for 2 cars the space tight which may be an issue.
I had a very pleasant stay at Hilbre Shepherd Hut.
The hut was clean and well presented and had everything I needed. Internet and phone reception are limited, but this was clearly advertised on the listing so did not come as a surprise. Alison provided clear instructions in advance for finding the property and checking in. I encountered no issues during my stay and would happily return.
