Suited to couples or friends craving an off-the-grid escape, it combines breathtaking sea views, a coastal setting close to Dartmoor National Park, and welcomes pets.

Leave the car at the top of the cliff and take in the vast outlook across Whitsand Bay before continuing down to this tucked-away retreat, where the uninterrupted seascape immediately defines the pace of your stay.

Inside, a rustic wooden interior creates a warm and characterful atmosphere, with the open-plan living, dining and kitchen space designed for slowing down and soaking up the surroundings, comfortable seating positioned to face the view and a sofa bed providing a flexible option for friends sharing, alongside books, a radio and speakers that encourage screen-free evenings.

The kitchen is well equipped for simple, satisfying meals, featuring a gas oven and hob, fridge and ice maker, while the kettle and toaster make mornings easy as you watch the sea shift and sparkle beyond the windows.

The double bedroom continues the sense of escape, with the ocean stretching out before you as you wake, and the shower room offers a refreshing space finished in soft blue tones that echo the coastal setting.

Start the day with a peaceful walk down to the beach below, cup in hand as the tide reveals sand and the steady rhythm of the waves sets the mood, before wandering back to relax in the quiet.

When you venture further, Dartmoor National Park opens up wide landscapes, rugged tors and winding trails to explore, while the South Cornwall coast offers scenic walks and moments spent breathing in salty sea air.

As the day draws to a close, return to The Cabin, settle back into its calm simplicity and let the endless sea views guide you into a tranquil evening overlooking the bay.

About the location

MILLBROOK

Whitsand Bay 1 mile; Plymouth 8 miles.

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that opens out into the Tamar Estuary, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, “Cornwall’s Forgotten Corner.” Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, Plymouth Sound and the open sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The village has a good range of shops and pubs, and close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a seasonal ferry will take you directly to Plymouth’s historic Barbican. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views towards Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI‑patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.

This property offers the following short breaks:
