    “We stayed at squirrel’s nest from the 22nd -3rd Jan so all through Christmas and new year.”

    On arrival we were disappointed that there was no Christmas tree or no decorations up considering it was Christmas, but after me messaging the owner they brought one two days later . Also it cost me £300 in logs ( 6 logs small bundle of flint and 4 squares of firelighters ) over the 12 days £200 was to keep the cabin warm even tho there was 3 small electric radiator in the cabin down stairs upstairs was very cold with no heating so the log burner had to be used each day to keep it at a ...

Stamford 7 miles; Oakham 6.1 miles.

Edith Weston is a pretty little village with lovely stone cottages, a pretty little church with a stained glass window inside, as well as a village shop. Post Office and pub. The nearby Rutland Water offers something for all and includes a Visitor Centre, shops, cafes and restaurants. Further afield are the towns of Stamford and Oakham with an excellent variety of independent shops, recognised retailers, character-rich pubs and range of restaurants as well as a weekly market every Friday. This is known as the playground of the East Midlands with water sports, nature reserves, an outdoor adventure centre and plenty of cycling and walking.
