The Shepherds Hut at Bridge Lake Farm & Fishery

We stayed in the Shepherds Hut which had been refurbished to a very high standard.

Had a very relaxing time and made use of the hot tub and fire pit. Would recommend if you need a quick recharge from everyday life. Will be returning for sure.

Me and my partner had the most amazing stay here, so peaceful and beautiful surrounding.

This is a divine, state of the art little Shepherds Hut.

It is in immaculate condition. The bed was comfy, the black out blinds are a touch and everything you need to self cater has been thought of. There is a BBQ and a generous decking space for alfresco dining. It is picturesque and peaceful. If you like nature this is a the perfect getaway. The owners and staff are so friendly and kind. I had a wonderful stay here and I already want to go back.

Accomodation great really nice and clean great setting and facilities, fishing was good caught some decent carp only small downside the canopy on hot tub was ripped had few holes in maybe from weather we had recently but only criticism we have was nice peaceful and was a nice touch having staff bring luggage and us to lodge on buggy we would recommend to friends and family and would definitely come again we are already looking to book again.

Staff are super helpful and nothing is a problem to make sure you have the best stay possible. Make sure you respond to Brendan with your arrival time and he will even make the hot tub ready for you when you get there!

Beautiful secluded spot for a peaceful romantic 4 day getaway.

We were contacted by Brendan just before check in and given clear instructions as to how to access the site. Brendan then came to meet & greet us and explained everything we would need to know. The Shepherds Hut was well equipped, cleanliness of the cabin was excellent, the bedside cupboards and plenty of hanging space above cabinets to store clothing etc. We had chosen to have the hot tub warmed on our arrival and this was done. On our 3rd evening we walked to the George & Dragon pub along the public footpath where the host and food were excellent. Other than that we didn’t venture away from the lake as we wanted to make full use of the hot tub and fire pit which were perfect for our first romantic getaway together. It’s clear to see the amount of attention to detail and thought paid by the owners to create a peaceful and idyllic setting. The lodges are situated around the late so as to not overlook each other. The quality of the workmanship has not been spared. We will definitely be back. Thank you to Brendan and all of his team.

Me and my partner recently stayed in The Shepards Hut for 4 nights, it was honestly one of the nicest cabins we have stayed in, and we have stayed at several.

The lake is beautiful, the cabin is clean, tidy and has everything you need. Brendan is lovely, he met us on arrival and helped us with our luggage to the cabin. This place is great for walks, fishing and relaxing. I would recommend reading the directions part prior to setting off, as it can be hard to find on Google. You may also want to take your own fire logs and firefighters for the hot tub, if not they can provide you with some for £20. We would definitely look at staying again. Thank you!

Beautiful Shepherd Hut in an idyllic tranquil setting.

Everything you would need for a short break away. Very clean and kept to a high standard. First time staying in a property with a woodfired hottub but was pleasently surprised how easy to use and to keep at the desired temperature (just missed the jets). Would definitely visit again.

The shepards hut was clean and comfortable, with underfloor heating.

They had thought of everything you should need for a short break away. It was quaint, quiet and peaceful. We were expecting the fishing peg to be on the property itself, instead it was just a short walk to the bottom to the big lake. We really enjoyed ourselves and would return, maybe trying one of the bigger properties next time. We would recomend taking your own logs for the hot tub and firepit. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

During our stay the water was cut off due to a leak in the town centre and as soon as they were notified they bought around water immediately. Very organised and lovely place to escape the kids for a weekend

The lodge is extremely well equipped with everything you could need right down to a hairdryer and bbq tools. We were surprised to see so many kingfishers but after losing count of how many fish we caught we can understand why! Absolutely stunning!

!! Buggy service to the door. The cabin was very well equiped, very clean and very comfortable. The cabin is small but perfect for 2 people. The hot tub was already lit and ready when we arrived. The underfloor heating kept the cabin very toasty even in the icey mornings. Lots of wildlife, especially birds of prey, the pond only had small roach, but lots of fun float fishing. Firepit bbq was excellent. Owner was very nice and informative. And we were lucky enough to see the planet parade.

Beautiful little place to stay.

Everywhere you turn is picturesque. The hot tub is easy to use, everything inside was cozy and clean. I thought the bed was quite hard and i didn't like that you have to buy more wood for the hot tub - £20 for a bin full is quite a lot, especially as we didn't need anywhere near that much just for 2 nights. If there was an option for half that amount it wouldve been much better. 9/10 place to stay. I'll definitely be recommending this getaway!!

What a little gem.

We stayed for two nights and it was beautiful. Lots of great detail and care and attention has gone into these huts. Very peaceful and tranquil and Brendan was very helpful. Will definitely return again.

We loved our stay here!

It was the perfect quiet getaway and we wish we had booked an extra night. The hut was warm and cosy and the hot tub was lovely and heated for our arrival. The pub was only a short walk away and we had lovely lunch there. I've already recommended it to a friend.

We were taken down to the hut in a buggy which was a really nice touch! Our hot tub was warmed for us on arrival. I’d say overall one of the best places we have stayed, definitely 5* and we will definitely be returning!

We had an amazing 3 night stay.

We were met on arrival and taken to our hut along with our luggage on a golf buggy. Brendan and his team are lovely and happy to answer any questions. The hot tub was heated up ready for arrival so we could go straight in. The hut was idyllic with all the kitchen utensils you could need, the huts positioned perfectly to allow everyone privacy and their own area. Shepard hut is situated next to a private lake off to the side of the main lake the other huts are on giving you the perfect place to sit and relax. The views are amazing, this is the perfect place to relax and get away. The local area is so peaceful, with just a short walk to the pub, The George and Dragon with some beautiful alpaca greeting you on the way. We will definitely return again.

Bridge Lake Farm is a wonderful experience.

Set in the countryside but with easy access to the local village and pub. It is 10 minutes drive to Banbury and there is a local reliable hourly bus service that takes you into the centre of Banbury via a major retail park. We were made fo feel very welcome by the owner Brendan and had a few wonderful chats with James a caretaker. The fishing was very good with a nice variety of carp, roach and many tench. My biggest compliment to the place is that we are already planning to return.

Our short stay experience in The Shepherds hut was everything we wished for.

We were met by Brendan who whisked us and our luggage from the car park down to the hut in a stretched golf buggy. The hut was carefully tucked away in a discreet corner of the lake, but you still had good views over the lake from the hut’s slightly elevated position. The hut’s veranda guided you down to its own pond where you could observe shoals of Rudd swimming about in the clear water. Enjoyed the hot tub very much which had been fired up prior to our arrival. If anything it was a little too hot to start with! Fished the main lake and caught plenty of small fish (sweet corn worked) which was good fun. A short walk across a well signed footpath took us into the picturesque village of Chacombe where we enjoyed a lovely meal in The George and Dragon. The hut provided for all our needs for a short stay. If we were to be hyper critical the bed was firmer than what we are used to and a welcome pack would have been a nice touch. All in all a little piece of heaven that we would recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning. Thanks!

Had a fabulous relaxing stay in the Shepherd's Hut.

Was so peaceful and lots of nature around. The fishing was good but no big carp was caught. The hot tub was fabulous and the whole place was just idyllic for a break away. We will certainly return. Brendan and his team were all very helpful. Only one small suggestion my husband would make is to have maybe have an outside small storage box of some kind, to store his fishing tackle and bait, away from the hungry wildlife.

It is idyllic, peaceful and remote. It is our home from home and Brendan is friendly and welcoming.

...it was so peaceful and had everything we needed to relax and unwind for the weekend! The hot tub and firepit made it for us with stunning views. Brendan was very friendly and helpful and we got to meet the lovely alpacas close by....the George and Dragon pub a short walk away was also a highlight. Definitely recommend a stay here....we will be back!

Just returned from a 4 night break in The Shepherds Hut, WOW!

!! What an incredible place, so peaceful, so immaculate inside the accommodation & everywhere on the site & the owner, Brendan, was so helpful, as well as being a truly great guy. Would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone.

Couldn’t ask for much more as it has what you need for your time away and with great hosts.

We had a two night stay in the Shepherds Hut for my birthday this weekend.

We wanted peace, beautiful surroundings, privacy and romance and they had it all and then some. The owner was waiting on arrival to drive us and our luggage to our hut door where he showed us how to operate the underfloor heating, freshwater hot tub and generally settle us in. The grounds are exquisite and the Shepherds Hut especially as it comes with its own mini lake full of fish. There are some excellent walks, lovely local pub and the option to walk Alpaca around the lakes. The hut is well maintained, equipped with basic needs and very clean with towels and towelling gowns that were perfect when getting out of the hot tub. Only gripe is the mattress is very very hard and uncomfortable however this is just a personal preference. All in all we had a truly wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

WOW , what a super idyllic place to have spent 4 days, it does what it says on the tin, we came back fully chilled and relaxed , all private cabins , not over looked other than your food you don't need to take anything else Brendan the owner cannot do enough for you & made us feel very welcome.

We had an amazing stay at the shepards hut, there was nothing I could pick fault with at all.

Brendan was a great host, he really knew what he was doing. As a young couple we were treated like anyone else which I thought was really nice, we will 100% be looking to come back, I would highly recommend bridge lake farm and fishery to anyone for a peaceful break, you won’t find anywhere else like this in the area.

Lovely two night stay in the Shepherds Hut, the 5pm check in was a little disappointing as we were eager to start our break, but headed to Bicester for some retail therapy and received a message about 2pm to advise we could check in early, met by great host and golf buggyed with our luggage to our Shepherds Hut, fantastic accommodation with every you need or want for short stays, attention to detail was second to none, only criticism was bed , not comfortable and flat pillows, but this is personal preference and sure others would be happy, the grounds and accommodation were well maintained, and the wood fire hot tub was like taking a bath, bliss.

The whole site is so well presented and clean. Brendan was there to greet us and help with our bags. Received a message earlier on our check in date asking if we would like the hot tub pre-heated which was lovely as it was ready for our arrival. What an idyllic setting in a beautiful peaceful place. This hidden gem transports you away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and really is a haven if you want some peace and privacy in a lovely tranquil environment. If you want to get away or your own or with your other half, the best part about this place is that it is childfree and pet free with all the extra creature comforts to give your stay a bit of luxury under one roof. Booking was a breeze and the owners are excellent at communication and giving you info on the best amenities in the local area. The hot tub was a real treat and the beds and pillows were sumptuous. Everything was spotlessly clean and we couldn’t have asked for more. Five stars all round from us!

The hut was exactly as advertised and had everything that is needed for a relaxing holiday. Beautiful sunset by the lake with barbecue, followed by a splash in the wood-fired hot-tub. All in all Bridge Lake Farm is run both professionally and with a personal touch, I would definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to get away from the noise of the city.

This was the most perfect destination, location and holiday.

Brendan was a lovely host, very courteous and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hot tub was fantastic - the fire pit was splendid. The hut was compact and neat, everything there that you could need. Local pub 'George and Dragon' is lovely, closed on monday and sandwiches only Tuesday but hot food for rest of the week - a simple menu but delicious. Great surrounding towns and countryside - all in all a superb holiday and one most definately to be repeated.

Myself and my partner have stayed at the Stepherds Hut at Bridge Lake Farm & Fishery from Friday until Sunday.

We wanted a relaxing stay and that is exactly what we got. From when we arrived to when we left, Brandon ( owner ) was very helpful, welcoming and a great host. Anything that we needed or asked for he was there within minutes. The lodge was absolutely beautiful, great facilities and cleanliness. Overlooking the lake, very peaceful and quiet area. Hot tub was easy to use and easy to set up. We loved everything about our stay and we will definitely be returning.

Recently returned from a wonderful stay here.

We were greeted by Brendan who helped us with our luggage, informed us of everything we needed to know and was only a call away if we needed anything. We booked 2 nights wishing we had booked for longer it was amazing, so peaceful. Had a lovely day out beforehand shopping at Bicester Village, lunch at the local pub which is just 5 mins away. Will definitely be coming back next year!

My husband and I recently celebrated our honeymoon here for 2 nights and stayed in the Shepherds Hut.

From before we arrived to our departure we had the most amazing experience, Brendan was the friendliest and welcoming host and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The views are stunning, the atmosphere is peaceful and tranquil with the constant sound of nature surrounding us. All of the facilities were amazing, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again and again!!

The location was idyllic for us.

The silence only broken by the sound nature. We just sat and watched wildlife take its course. Better than any TV programme. We may be back :O)

The lodge was amazing so peaceful and perfect to escape too.

We were here for 6 days and would of happily stayed for longer. The guy that owns it was so helpful and friendly. Will definitely be returning as soon as we can. Banbury is only 10 minutes away and is a lovely town with everything you need. If you need a couples get away I couldn't think of anywhere better to be honest.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely gentlemen who helped us take all our luggage on a golf buggy down to the lodge.

He explained the use of all the facilities and leisure near by. He was always one call away and never failed to help. Hot tub and bbq was easy to set up and maintain alone and any additional wood can be provided for a small additional charge. All furnishings were modern and to a high spec. Beds were super comfortable with a flat screen smart tv on a flexible bracket allowing it to face the bed or sofa with great views. Kitchen was provided with all equipment (and bbq utensils) with adequate lounge space. Plenty of storage for your clothes and items. Shower is a very good pressure with controllable temperature. Great Wi-Fi signal. Quiet scenery. Amazing views. Surrounded by warm spot lights around the path and lodge. Welcome handbook had all the information Needed including local restaurants and there menus. Bus times. Use directions for hot tub. Towels/soaps/bin bags/washing up liquid/cloths/sponge and a torch if your going out at night all provided. Lots of plug sockets and USB sockets available. Great distance away from neighbouring lodges. Secluded lodge with Private lake area. Can be designed yourself to any occasions. On this occasion it was my 24th birthday. We used the hot tub/fire pit/bbq. I would like to personally thank Brendan for making our stay unforgettable for all the right reasons. We will definitely be back in the summer. 1000% recommended to everyone.

Fantastic place to stay, very quiet which is different to everyday life living in a town.

Brendan was brilliant from start to finish! Very well organised. I’d recommend a washing line or an airer, just mainly for drying towels once out the hot tub! Options for a few more pillows for sleeping.

The staff were helpful, the facilities came to good use Wi-Fi,oven, TV, heating, fridge, the shower was lovely and powerful. The cabin was a good size for two people, and the hot tub was easy to use and was so relaxing! The view was beautiful over looking the pond and the fields in the back with it all lit up.

The lake was so tranquil and relaxing. Although the space was small it never felt cramped. The hot tub and fire pit were great and Brendan couldn’t have been more helpful! We were also lucky enough to meet the alpaca neighbours which made our stay extra special. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to get away from it all.
