“Waylands Shepherd's Hut was the perfect location to explore Oxfordshire and beyond.”

The village of Uffington was a short walk away and had a useful shop for emergency supplies, plus post office. Faringdon was a 15 minute drive to a large Tesco's. Lots of walks straight from the hut. Waylands was well appointed and had everything we needed for a week long stay with a view towards White Horse Hill and the Berkshire Downs. A meadow is directly in front of the hut with the added bonus of Aston and Andy the horses as neighbours. Jonathan, the owner, was on hand should we need ...

Jonathan, the owner, was on hand should we need anything and made us very welcome including a bottle of prosecco in the fridge on arrival. We would definitely recommend Waylands as a great base to explore Oxfordshire from.

“This Shepherd's hut was amazing.”

The location was quiet and idyllic. It was lovely. We sat out in the sun in the day and the firepit by night. And would definitely come again. The hut was clean. Cosy. And had everything we needed. My only complaint is that there was no logs supplied for the firepit. I am sure I saw this advertised and the neighbours hut seemed to have a bag with their hut. But apart from that it was amazing. The horses kept us company day and night. Coming over to the fence to have a look before strolling around their paddock. The walks around the white horse are amazing and full of history.

“This was a perfect getaway for us!”

I had surgery early in December but it was my partner's birthday so I was looking for somewhere easy to access, peaceful and a little bit special that allowed dogs and this was a great find. Location is excellent for dog walks, village pubs and that wonderful winter hygge feel. The owner was friendly without being too involved and we felt confident someone was nearby if we had any issues (which we didn't). My only recommendation would be to look at offering refillable toiletries and more natural cleaning products.

“I stayed at Waylands for a little solo trip away, taking some time for myself to reset, unwind, and relax and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to do so.”

It was so lovely to wake up in the morning and see the horses roaming about outside, and the whole surroundings were just full of peacefulness and tranquility. Owners were absolutely amazing as well! The hut itself was a cosy, inviting space. Definitely recommend Chapel Farm Shepherds Huts! Thank you very much for providing a lovely place to have a little me time :)

“Thank you for a wonderful and restorative stay at Waylands.”

It was amazing waking up in our snug bed to the beautiful and peaceful countryside view and the horses mooching about in the paddock. The Prosecco and milk provided were lovely extra touches. Such a clean fresh scent in the hut as well and we loved the hand wash!! Thank you so much!!

“What a wonderful find Waylands was.”

I booked very last minute for a couple of nights peace and quiet with my dog and I wasn't disappointed. I was greeted by the owner when I arrived who was very friendly and helpful. The place itself was amazing, a beautiful view over the fields and hills and the White Horse of Uffington in the distance. There was lots of space for my dog to roam but its not enclosed, I took a lead hook to stop him disappearing. Inside Waylands, it was spotless and so well set up. It had everything I needed, salt, pepper, even a garlic press!. There was a bottle or prosecco in the fridge and a bottle of milk which was a lovely touch. There were toiletries laid out in the bathroom as well. The sleeping area was so cosy and really comfortable. It was Idyllic and really quiet, its also very dark, not light pollution so great for star gazing but lots of outdoor lighting to use with lots of seating. Another bonus is that its not totally isolated, the village shop is just round the corner as is the local pub and lots to do locally. It also has very strong 4G if you dont want to be totally off grid. Thank you for a wonderful stay

“We arrived at Waylands to a warm reception and was delighted to see that we were going to stay in the beautiful, brand new and well equipped Shepherd's Hut.”

Waylands was situated in a private and peaceful position on the owners land and we were blessed with gorgeous sunshine too. Jonathan and family were extremely friendly and happy to help in any way. Perfect place for exploring the sights of Oxfordshire and we hope to return very soon. Fabulous holiday. .
