Goose Pod at Salford Court Farm Fishing Cabins

We have had the most lovely stay, very peaceful and quiet to relax, we had lovely walks with our dog, Hot tub was lovely and relaxing, the small village was very welcoming with a convenience store that you needed, but maybe putting in a small freezer part at the top of the fridge so we can freeze some cubes, especially when it is a hot day.

We would definitely go back again, absolutely Love it

The toilet seat was not fitted and fell off.

The settee arms were detached and the settee almost collapsed when sat upon. The oven and cooking utensils were scratched, dirty and damaged. The overall impression was tired and in need of renovation. The fishing lake yielded no fish, nor and sign of any. We cut short our stay and left after 2 days. No thank you!!

Just returned from a fantastic break at Salford Farm.

The Pod was comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. The fishing was excellent, catching 13 absolutely pristine carp , the largest being 22lbs. Rob & Andy are really friendly and helpful and Laura is a real gem ! We have already booked to return next year. !

The original pod was lovely and in really nice countryside.

I had a problem with the heating so I called the owner and he came straight around to try and get it sorted. He wasn’t able to fix it so he gave me an upgrade to a bigger cabin. The owners are amazing and I’m already wanting to go back there maybe in the summer.

We just returned from our stay in the goose pod, and my wife, our dog, and I really enjoyed it.

The pod was just the right size for all of us and had everything we needed to cook some meals. The BBQ was clean and worked well. We relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed some lovely walks with Luna. The owners' dog was quite entertaining and came down a few times to play with her. We had a delicious roast dinner at The Bridge in Stanford, which was only a 9-minute drive away. I was surprised by the number of sheep in the area, but they didn’t bother us or our dog. Overall, we had a great time. The only disappointment was that we couldn’t go fishing, which was a major draw for me. I will keep an eye out for when fishing is available again, and I’d love to come back to try it out

very disappointed to have booked a fishing break to then be told after the booking we couldn’t fish.

even tho others were fishing when we arrived so that really made the break for us very disappointing. up arriving at the pod, it looks nice however it’s certainly showing its age. the floor is all damaged, the bed is held together with pieces of junk timber, the doors are difficult to open and close due to lack of maintenance. the exterior furniture is nothing like shown in the pictures which is shame as no external sofa, the chairs are not comfortable. hot tub was fine and nice to sit out late in the evening and watch the stars. bathroom and kitchen area were clean so that’s a positive. word of warning to anyone with a low or performance vehicle the track to get to the lodges is very uneven and one section is very steep so likely will ground out your vehicle. it is on a working farm but it isn’t described in the listing at all so would have been nice to have been informed.

Lovely pod in beautiful surroundings, the pod had everything you need, washing up liquid, hand soap, cloths and binbags etc was very impressed with how clean everything was, the only problem was the smell out the front of the pod, smelt like sewage

The pod is in need of up dating Bathroom smells of damp, there was a smell of sewage just outside the front door.

Front door was difficult to shut, one of the tables outside glass top loose. We had a problem with flies inside the pod. The fishing was terrible apparently they had a problem with otters so no one was catching anything on the lakes. We did not report anything to the owners because too much to report and it just wouldn't be able to be fixed quickly. I'm sure nobody from Skyes has been to see the property in a while. We will not return and definitely not recommend it.

We had a fantastic stay the goose pod.

The lake was beautiful and the sheep made us laugh. We had the perfect weather and spent most of our time in the hot tub taking in the beautiful views. The owners of the place are lovely and we will definitely be returning and we both can't wait. Thankyou for an amazing stay.

We had the most amazing stay at Goose Pod.

It is equipped with everything you need for your stay. I chilled and my husband fished. He caught one large carp and several smaller fish! It's a beautiful setting, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. We will definitely be returning, we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Wow, we loved this place and will definitely be coming back.

Well stocked kitchen and bathroom and just enough of everything for both of us and our two dogs. The hot tub was welcome after walking for hours. the local pub was wonderful too. So nice and secluded. Perfect for us. Thank you for the carts for carrying our luggage too :)

It was just what it said on the tin.

...remote, quiet, apart from the sheep, but they never bothered with us. Great spot of you want to get away from it all, the facilities were looking tired, the umbrella was broken and we had a leak in the shower room, but it was not big enough to bother us, so I would have given more because we did have a relaxing time away from it all and we more than likely go back and I have already recommended the pods to friends already.

Pod was great with everything you needed plus more fishing was awful nobody catching as they have a problem with otters eating and killing the fish we saw four dead fish in three days

Never seen the owner but the place was lovely.

Hot tub was lovely and clean. Nice and quiet. Loved the sheep and the lambs. Only problem was there were ants over our kitchen side in our room. Near to our kettle. Didn’t see anyone for new towels but we were happy with our stay and it was lovely and peaceful for us. I do think the price was too much for what it is though.

Stayed 3 years ago, it was looking a bit worse for wear.

It's still a nice experience, though

Accommodation was lovely, couple of gripes as not normally a moaner.

Hot tub buttons don’t do as stated but managed to work them out and couldn’t light BBQ, needs updating really. Other than that it’s a beautiful place to stay.

Amazing stay at goose pod.

Fishing was great. Landed 20+ carp up to 20lb. Facilities was great. Definitely will be staying again soon.

Lovely for a short get away for a short stay, hot tub is lovely.

Would definitely recommend

We had a lovely couple of nights stay, it was in a perfect location and was nice to chill and relax before the new year.

Lovely well equipped pod, beautiful views, hot tub fabulous

Absolutely amazing spot!

We had a lovely relaxing break, the hot tub was perfect, fishing was great. The owners were fab and really helpful. The pod is perfectly fitted out. We will definitely be back thank you for creating a beautiful place to recharge the batteries.

We had an amazing time relaxing in Goose Pod, it was perfect in every way.

You had everything you needed and we didn’t need to leave the pod. We spent the whole weekend fishing and relaxing outside our pod. When we woke up early in the morning the pod was surrounded by sheep, and the view out to the lake was perfect. Would definitely recommend staying at this lovely place.

A wonderful little break.

The sheep greeted us with curious stares as we pulled the complimentary trolleys past them, carrying our bags to the pod. We loved the pod and fenced off private space which was cosy but still spacious. Within hours of arriving we were greeted by a beautiful Kingfisher, who perched on the fence for a good 5mins. That evening we saw the milkyway for the first time in a very very long time. The bed and new sofa were super comfy. The fencing was adequate for our Lhasa Apso. Only issue was the smoke alarm didn’t like any frying (bacon, french toast) in the small space with door and window open and our dog is scared of loud alarms… The outside grills flame kept going out due to strong winds, we had to get some disposable charcoal BBQ. Would highly recommend to all our friends & family, and we’d possibly join them with the option to book multiple pods/cabins at the same time.

Such a lovely place so relaxing, the owners are so lovley and very helpful.

Loved it so much we are back next month.

Fantastic break, peaceful and relaxing x

Third time coming and we would return again and find it enjoyable still.

The pod is clean and has everything you need inside. The welcome booklet is helpful. Lots of nature to watch outside the pod. Fishing was good, caught 20lb carp, one thing would be that the net does require replacing as it is very worn. Another lovely relaxing stay.

We stayed here last week for 2 nights and we will definitely be returning!

The lodge itself was perfect and the scenery was a bonus, the decking when the sun is shining is like being on holiday ha. Also wanted to say a big thank to Andy for taking time to come and show us how the BBQ worked and taking time to have a chat with us.

Great little stay, only thing we did find is the fencing is all fenced off around the pod to stop dogs escaping and letting sheep in, but the gate hasn’t, so our little dogs could escape through the gate.

Silly little thing but that’s the only issue we had.

First time visiting and I can certainly say it definitely won’t be the last!

Such a relaxing peaceful place to visit. All the locals are lovely and super friendly, definitely somewhere I’d recommend

On a whole the property was as expected.

It advertised what was included and a nice quiet atmosphere to relax in the evenings. We did had a few issue with regards to the bathroom. The toilet seat was off its hinges, we were able to put it back on. The plug hole system was broken it wouldn’t allow the flow of water to go down. Each time we had to lift it up to let the water out. Might be worth the owners checking that out. We would stay there again.

Was an absolute beautiful holiday, gorgeous views and so peaceful!

Was a bit difficult with a husky as he wanted to keep jumping in the lake but we used a long lead and attached him to the floor just a tip for people with crazy dogs

i arrived & found the hot tub wasnt working.

Cintacted Sykes who called the owner. They arrived within 30 minutes, unfortunatley the issue could nor be fixed at this time. We were offered an ungrade to log cabin which we gatefully accepted with pleasure. The owner was friendly & helpful even offering to move our luggage Had an amazing stay in an idealic location. peaceful & cabin had everything & some. Would highly recommend both sykes for ease of booking & informative. The owners of the property for the fast response to our issue & for the upgrade to make our break even better, will def come back. forger to mention the fishing 5 carp caught ranging from 23-19ib.

Fantastic weekend

Lovely stay, nice and clean.

Pillows were a bit flat, next time I would bring my own. Hot tub brilliant, stayed for 3 nights. Asked for extra towels and got them no problem. Would definitely go back again.

We had a great time on our holiday, the place we were staying was clean, tidy, peaceful and had everything we needed to enjoy a few days away.

I tried to do a little bit of fishing however, the fish were so small they couldn’t even bite onto the smallest hook I had available. The only thing I could suggest to make it more enjoyable is to stock some bigger carp as this is quite a large lake and the likelihood of catching anything is slim. This would turn it into an amazing holiday destination and we would definitely return. We loved that the lodges and pods were separated as this allowed us to enjoy some quiet time away from the world and to relax, you should definitely keep it this way. Thank you for a great holiday!

Had a wonderful couple of days staying here, very quiet and peaceful.

Perfect amount of privacy! Managed to cook full meals with everything we needed! Only two things that have stopped me from giving five stars. Issues with the hot tub meant we only really had about 1/2 a days use of it without full functions over the three nights we stayed. And although dog friendly all the foot paths near by you had to drive too due to not being able to leave on foot with the dogs because of locked gates and cattle grids. Would come back 100%

This was our second visit and we loved it!

Even the weather didn't stop us from enjoying our stay. We will definitely visit again, this is our now our favourite place for a break away. Bonus for this visit was seeing all the new lambs.

The goose pod was beautiful the whole place was amazing.

Very peaceful and relaxing definitely stay again

The goose pod was amazing ,everything you could think of, clean bedding already made up, towels, tea towels, tea coffee sugar ect , Hand soap washing up liquid .

.amazing . Hot tub was clean and ready to go! Barbie was clean with all the utensils and was used to its full . Wonderful stay ! Beautiful settings .quite and calm .we have booked for 2024 already ..perfect

Everything about goose pod was amazing, lovely location and had everything we needed for a few nights stay.

The hot tub was amazing, so warm and clean!!

Great few nights away.

Lovely location, very peaceful. Facilities and cleanliness spot on. Would definitely book again!

Accommodation was easy to find using the post code and directions provided.

Parked in a dedicated car park and had a short walk to the pod. Buggies were provided to wheel luggage. On arrival at the pod it appeared exactly as advertised, and was in a clean and well maintained state. The hot tub was pre-warmed and was clean. The heating within the lodge was already on and was very welcoming. There are 4 pods on the site, which are far enough away from eachother to not seem overlooked and we felt we had privacy, but was a nice feeling knowing other people were around in case of emergency. Beautiful pod, great views. The only negative was a loose toilet seat, but otherwise perfect. Will book again in the future

Nice view, very private.

20 mins to tesco extra

What a lovely week away !

! So peaceful, very comfortable and relaxing , the fishing was very good too! Managed 8 carp up to 16lb

Amazing property and highly recommend to anyone

Absolutely brilliant lovely pod in a lovely location everything need is there very very clean the hot tub was brilliant lovely and warm from the get go will deffo be booking again top marks

Thoroughly enjoyed my 2 night stay!

Everything was clean and tidy - had basic facilities such as tea and coffee and cleaning bits Lovely and peaceful - I took my puppy who also seemed to enjoy! The only thing it your taking your pet is this pods verander isn’t fully enclosed so just have to keep an eye on them constantly but wasn’t a massive problem. The sofa wasn’t too comfortable so didn’t sit on it but the bed was fine. If you are looking for a peaceful break in the middle Of nowhere this is for you! Thank you for a lovely 2 nights

Absolute gem of a place in beautiful peaceful surroundings absolutely loved the hot tub The only downfall was the bed we had lack of sleep due to sunken mattress, and the sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on, other then this the place it’s self was perfect.

We had a fantastic time.

There was everything in the pod that you would need. Will definitely be going back.

A lovely restful stay, cosy pod, beautiful surroundings and very clean.

I appreciate that the hot tub cover was replaced and had been identified as being damaged without me having to say anything. It would be useful to have instructions in the information folder on how to work the barbecue, as the oven didn’t look safe to use. A suggestion would be to keep the cooking rings and use the space taken up by the oven with a microwave & toaster. This is standard in Europe

Brilliant weekend away with the Mrs, brilliant time fishing even though most of them were night time bite but can't complain.

Biggest fish was just over 15ibs average was about 9ibs. Would highly recommend to everyone, would recommend to put it on GO CATCH as it would be alot easier to book for fishing.

Couldn’t log into my account to get my money back as I was very unwell and couldn’t go down, did send multiple emails but no one replied.

The outside area needed something else to enhance your evenings.

Once the sun went In there wasn’t much else to do ( as the hot tub wasn’t working) bar go inside the pod. Maybe the addition of a fire pit or chiminea would have extended our outside time.

Me and my husband had an amazing week away.

It was just what we needed. It was nice and peaceful. We spent most of the week at the pod sitting outside, enjoying the lovely sunny weather while fishing. Managed to catch 3 carp towards the end of week. Would recommended this place to anyone and booked for next year's holiday.

OMG, I ended up going on my own, the best time ever and I mean that, it was so peaceful, I was able to relax, Chill, and unwind, I left my phone off, it was heaven, it was hot and the hot tub was wonderful and the BQQ was used a lot, the owners were so helpful and nothing was to much for them, if you want to get of the grid for a week, then it's the place to go, I stayed on site all week, why cos I felt comfortable, no traffic or sirens, just sheep, cows, birds, would I go back?

How yer 100% I will be going back

Excellent little pod , only caught the 1 fish but extremely peaceful, perfect little set up , we didn’t want to leave !

.

This was such a beautiful place to stay.

Really enjoyed every minute of it. Only issue we had was trying to contact the owners regarding the fishing. Unfortunately they ignored our message but we soon figured it out for ourselves.

The pod was lovely and exactly as it is in the photos.

It was such a relaxing place to be by the lake in the hot tub with the working farm around you it was beautiful. Would highly recommend staying here and we will be back next year

Absolutely amazing stay and place.

Minimalist but sufficient for our trip. We took our 2 spaniels and they had a whale of a time with plenty of space to run and the walks we did was with breathtaking views. I took my fishing rods and caught carp of the decking to 15lb. To top it all the hot tub was a great hit in the evening with a bottle of wine. Definitely will be going back, perfect all round.

Absolutely lovely.

Enjoyed our stay here. Will be sure to book again.

Great place, we loved it.

Clean, quiet Will be coming back for sure but for longer

A fantastic stay!

Very peaceful and comfortable. On the second day there, we took a walk around the farm and the owners had kindly allowed us to check out the barn. They were very friendly and it’s an experience we will never forget. The pod was modern and clean. The hot tub was out of this world and the views were amazing. We will definitely be back!

Goose pod is a hidden gem.

Great location. Very private but also very open to see the amazing views. Loved the farm feel being surrounded by the sheep and cows. Seeing wildlife like kingfishers , bats and hearing a owl in the distance. The facilities are just what you need and the pod with the hottub was very romantic. Fishing was hard but enjoyable. The only few things we would say need to be improved is the mattress was a little uncomfortable so maybe mattress toppers and also we couldn't find a dustpan and brush to tidy up. Other than that there is everything you need and more provided at the pod. Already looking at booking again.

Really lovely place to stay.

Would recommend to anyone. The only downside was the bed wasn’t very comfortable, we woke with bad backs on both mornings but besides that it was amazing!

Lovely little pod overlooking a lake.

Well maintained and furnished. Plenty of crockery and utensils. Peaceful and well laid out to ensure privacy from other pods. Really off the beaten track for total relaxation.

Amazing place so relaxing just what we needed.

Loved seeing the sheep, geese, heron, kingfisher . Will definitely be back

What a lovely place to spend a quiet weekend, beautiful scenery, perfect

Absolutely enjoyed are stay so relaxing highly recommended and will be booking again

We had a lovely little break at the Goose Pod.

Surroundings are beautiful, with the pod right on the lakeside. The pod itself was great with all the amenities you could need. Could do with an extractor fan in the kitchen area as when cooking indoors it sets the smoke alarm off. We had to open the door to stop this which wasn't ideal as it was freezing! But this didn't really dampen our stay, just thought I would mention it. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

We absolutely loved staying in goose pod for the week, it’s a very peaceful and tranquil place to relax and to get away from everything, I also did carp fishing and caught some stunning mirror carp up to 18lb which where absolutely immaculate, also the hot tub was amazing by the lake side, The owners andy and rob where proper sound and we will be definitely staying here again soon.

Fantastic stay!

We spent 2 nights at Goose pod and we will definitely return. We have already recommended to friends and family! Amazing location and pods/lodges are located around a lake but with enough privacy that you don’t feel overlooked by neighbouring visitors. Pods were super clean with good amenities and the comfiest bed. The hot tub outside was just the icing on the cake and this gets topped up with chlorine etc daily and cleaned for each visitor - it was also turned on before we arrived so it was already warm and ready to get into when we checked in. Can’t wait to come back already, and the owners of the farm and pods/lodges have got it spot on!

Excellent romantic stay.

Perfect location with plenty of walks. Pod was amazing everything you needed. Perfect size. Lovely view from the hot tub. Only thing was the smoke/heat detector went off everytime we opened the oven. But will definitely recommend and be back again later this year!

Really nice location, nice and quiet for a quiet break away, it has got everything you need, nice and cosy little pod and the hot tub is amazing!

We really enjoyed our time at Goose POD perfect retreat to get away from everything else we would defo book again in the future

Couldnt be happier with the venue and what was provided.

its a beautiful place and I 100% will be recommending and returning to this site.

A microwave would have been useful

Thank you so much, we had an amazing time.

The hot tub was cleaned and inspected everyday, overall had an amazing time. Thank you!

Just come back from a weekend break with my partner and we had the best relaxing 2 night break.

The Farm is so peaceful. Property was clean on arrival, kitted out with all utensils, tea towels and towels. Bathroom is lovely and clean and the hot tub is emptied everytime someone leaves and filled back up. We had a lovely weekend and would definitely recommend to family and friends if you just wants a quiet break with a hot tub. Thanks to all ❤

Really lovely property.

Perfect for a getaway from reality. Had the best time and the owners are great. 10/10 would recommend

Just a fabulous pod in a fabulous unique location and views with a beautiful hot tub too.

Total peace and quiet and the pods have the lot despite being small. It actually makes them very cosy and a beautiful comfortable bed. Great friendly owners Rob & Andy also. We will be back! Thank you Goose Pod our little special getaway.
