The Granary
Description
Durham 3.6 miles.
The Granary is a beautiful converted farm building renovated to a high standard, sitting in the lovely village of Witton Gilbert.
Perfect for families or a group of friends, this cottage is really something special, boasting a magnificent interior with exposed brickwork and beams throughout.
As you enter, you will be in awe of the exceptional features, especially the large, high-spec, contemporary kitchen.
The dining area adjoins the kitchen and is home to comfortable seating, with double doors opening over to the lounge area, a room full of character and plenty of space.
The lounge comes with plush sofas, perfect to cosy up and get away from it all in front of the woodburning stove.
After a cosy evening, make your way up the impressive staircase and choose from the selection of bedrooms for a peaceful night's sleep, with a choice of two super king-size rooms or a double.
You'll be spoilt for choice, especially as all are immaculately finished with en-suites.
Be at one with your location by spending an hour or two in the large garden, conveniently accessed via the lounge.
For the adventurers, there is a nearby disused railway popular with both walkers and cyclists.
Why not take a trip to the conveniently located city of Durham, laced with elegant buildings and fascinating narrow streets which boast excellent shopping, eating and drinking to suit all tastes.
From Medieval castles to marvellous landscapes and scenic walks, this property is wonderfully located for a one-of-a-kind holiday experience.

What guests are saying
This was a delightful house to stay in.
The setting was perfect, the house faultless and the proximity to Durham made visiting the city easy. The local pub was friendly and served good meals. The owners were helpful and friendly and left us apples to feed to the alpacas! I could lived there, it was lovely with lots of homely touches...and if we ever return to the area I'll definitely book this again.
Wonderful weekend spent here.
Cottage is beautiful We will definitely be returning
Wonderful property, well kitted out, comfy beds & excellent showers in the en-suites.
Added bonus is the bowl of apples so you can feed the Alpacas in the field behind. Met by Tracey just after arrival, who gave us good local knowledge & tips. Recommend this place to everyone.
