The small and picturesque village of Duddington is situated on the east bank of the River Welland, close to the town of Stamford. The village, which was mentioned in the Domesday Book has a Grade II listed church and a pub. Stamford is within easy reach boasting a number of independent gift shops, pubs and restaurants, along with a brewery, art gallery and museum. Close by is the stunning Burghley House and Gardens of Surprise, as is the Rutland Water Nature Reserve, which is owned by the National Trust and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The reserve holds many events and workshops for visitors interested in conservation, wildlife and rural activities. Also in the area are the Kinewell Lake Pocket Park and Local Nature Reserve, the town of Thrapston and the city of Peterborough.
