We absolutely loved our stay at The Chard!
! Owner was lovely, met us at the drive to show us up to the cabin, gave us some information about local walks to do with our dog, places to visit and the local takeaways with where would deliver and where we would need to go collect. We were also left a little basket of goodies that we greatly appreciated! The cabin itself is fairly basic but exactly what is expected from the pictures/descriptions. It was clean and cosy! The garden area is more overgrown than in the picture, the owner explained that they keep it this way to benefit the wildlife and it was really great to watch everything coming and going, we mostly saw grouse, deer and one peacock that had seemed to make its home on the grounds. There is a meadow area just past the fire pit where my Rottweiler loved exploring and running after the ball. Our only complaint would be that the hot tub could have done with a little bit of maintenance, not all the jets worked and looked a bit dirty round the sides, but was still usable and we enjoyed sitting in it at night looking at the stars. We will definitely be next time we are doing a staycation with the dog. Thank you for having us!
The chard is an absolutely amazing place to stay, we came up from south wales for our mini moon and we felt stunned with the scenery and the cabin was beautiful, we met Jared who took us to our cabin and he was well mannered and told us everything we needed to know, then Trevor who gave us some recommendations for Sunday dinner, it was a well needed relaxing break can’t wait to come back soon
