Great property , lovely area to visit.

Just a few niggles on the property , underoof outdoor area , could do with a light installing, lights and fixtures should be checked before arrival of new visitors.Kitchen tap sprays water from the tap when using it , makes a small pressure spray, where there should not be any water.Bedside light bulb blown , Shower leaks from the fitting ,no broom to sweep with ,just a small handbrush and pan.Hot tub was well maintained , fridge door needs repairing , hinges move due to excess weight being loaded on to it , visitors book but no pen supplied , surroundings stunning.Grounds were well maintained. Would visit again

On first impression it was lovely, location, everything, then we looked closer.

The ice box in the fridge had that much ice in it the freezer section door wouldn’t close, the kettle was full of limescale to the point where we held it upside down over the sink and banged it and the limescale came out in clumps. There were cobwebs everywhere and I don’t mean small cobwebs they were huge, the extractor fan in the bathroom was full of dust, the vent in the bedroom was full of dust, the fridge and dishwasher both needed a good clean, but the worst thing of all was the dog hair, we noticed black dog hairs all over, the decking outside the door runners, we noticed a clump just poking out from under the sofa, we used the hoover provided but it smelt like wet dog when switched on, we pushed the sofas right back and were greeted with dust, dog hairs, human hair, twigs, dog treats and what looked like a paracetamol tablet, it was disgusting, I don’t expect to have to hoover up someone else’s mess for the amount of money we paid for the week, I mentioned this to someone at reception when I eventually found someone there, this was on the 2nd day of our holiday. All in all the cleanliness was a let down, I don’t understand why we could not get into our lodge until 4pm if they wasn’t going to clean it properly

We loved the 1 bedroom lodge and found it very comfortable and clean.

Lovely kingsize bed and hot shower in the ensuite. Possibly some storage could be created in the kitchen area as there was little space for food etc brought from home. But the kitchen is well resourced. The hot tub was a nice bonus and felt very private. The site is fairly new and very well maintained. It feels secluded particularly as arrival is along a single track road through woodland. A small matter was resolved very quickly and the staff were friendly and welcoming. There are around 30 lodges set around the site, some are larger than others, so plenty of options depending on the size of your party. The site is pet friendly too and there's a small woodland area that's useful for a dog walk or to interest children. We took a walk down a public footpath directly opposite the site entrance. This takes you through woodland and across a paddock,a continuation into further woodland leads to an ancient well. Arriving at a church signals the end of the walk and you are at the village(no shop) where there is an C18 pub and further along the road is The Lodge which is a lovely cafe with a varied menu and where we had excellent coffee and cream scones. The pub is very much an old village pub and we ate there one evening- 'pub grub' but freshly prepared and we enjoyed our meal. We were fortunate with the weather but think the lodge would be very cosy whatever the time of year. We hope to return.
