The Sty

We absolutely loved our stay in The Sty.

The oven was confusing at first but I figured it out even tho some food took double the time to cook it didn’t bother us too much as we made use of the hot tub. Very clean and very welcoming. Early morning wake ups by the cockerels but that’s expected on a farm.. after the first night we slept through it. Pillows were a little bit uncomfortable but nothing serious and the mattress was also hard but again nothing serious. 10/10 definitely would stay again in either The Sty or one of the other cabins on offer

Lovely chalet, secluded and quiet - apart from the resident cockrel who took a shine to us and sat outside the gate crowing to be let in - but generally very peaceful and restive.

There are a number of pubs and eateries within a short distance but you need to check on what days these serve food -phone numbers are recorded in the information pack to help you check before driving over. The site is within easy reach of a number of nearby towns and places of interest, some of the local lanes are pretty rural but fit the most part there is enough room for two cars to pass. The facilities are very good with large tv’s in the lounge and bed room, a nice 2 person hot tub and ample hanging space for a few days stay. If we had to mention negative aspects they might be that the hob was quite complicated but if you are used to electric hobs perhaps not and the bathroom sink is a little small but in keeping with the size of the bathroom which boasts an excellent shower. All in all we had a great 4 day stay and will be heading back in the near future.

Lovely time had celebrating a birthday, Lodge was comfortable and plenty spacious for 2 people.

Everything was informative before arrival. We got to witness the eclipse on 12/08/26 which was a added bonus. Hot tub was a lovely addition. Helen was great, we had a power cut due to the heat but she stepped up immediately and brought us a small generator to use, the power cut was out of anyone's control, all in all fantastic short relaxing break, lovely area, we met the donkeys and there gorgeous dog. Was such an amazing, calm and quiet get away!

The area was beautiful and The Sty was absolutely gorgeous, would 100% recommend and might even return! As for the owners, they were non stop helpful and were so understanding with every message or question. Loved it thank you!

Accommodation has everything you’d need, clean, tidy, hot tub, smart TV and Bluetooth speaker Local walks near by, I will definitely stay here again

The accommodation was a wonderful peaceful place to stay even with the cockerel being a great alarm call.

The garden is a sun trap and secluded. Only slight issue was the hot tub was smallish and with 2 people in it the water spilt and the the tub was making strange noises. Spoke to the owner who said they were looking into this as it was a new model of hot tub. Certainly a very minor point and wont stop us returning. Great Indian restaurant 10 mins away.

Had an amazing time the cabin was brilliant spotless comfortable and everything you need was too hand nice and private the hot was ready to go as soon as you arrive would most definitely recommend but be warned if the sun is shining put protection on the beautiful court yard is a sun trap

We stayed for 3 nights at The Sty.

It is very private, well maintained and comfortable. Lovely hot tub and outside seating. The bed was large and comfortable and there is all you need in the kitchen area. Very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would recommend

We had a wonderful 3 night break for my partners birthday at the sty, everything for us was perfect from the pig decor to the amazing hot tub and farm animals (including the cockerel) I asked for some flowers and wine to be left for my partners birthday and this was done by Helen for me and my partner was overjoyed with the beautiful bouquet of flowers overall a 10 out of 10 experience for us

Had an amazing stay at the Sty, couldn’t want for more.

Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, two smart TVs and Bluetooth sound system. Getting to meet the animals on the farm was such a nice touch. Received some fab recommendations on places to visit in and around the Peak District. We will definitely be returning, thank you for an amazing week away in the Peak District.

Had a romantic weekend away with my boyfriend as a late valentines get away.

We enjoyed the entirety of our weekend. The use of the hot tub, the cooking facilities were great. And the comfort of the little log cabin. We have shared the place with all our family and friends. That and we are already looking to be coming back! May even stay in another one of the log cabins onsite. The theme was fantastic too. Loved the pig theme. On our departure we met the owner and he was a lovely individual. He took us around the farm to show us the other animals. Thank you so much for the stay. We definitely will be back.

We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at the fantastic Sty on a working farm, and we couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing break.

It felt very private, with a secure fence running all the way around - perfect for switching off and relaxing. Each morning came with a charming countryside touch: the resident cockerel just outside the fence providing a very authentic wake-up call, along with chickens happily roaming nearby! The location is ideal too, with plenty of attractions close by, including beautiful Calke Abbey and lots of great places to eat within easy reach. Even the rainy weather didn’t dampen the mood - the cabin was cosy and comfortable, and the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring, making it a great base whatever the forecast. Overall, a wonderful countryside escape that we’d happily recommend.
