Inside, the lodge is bright, spacious and thoughtfully designed across one level. The open plan living area is bathed in natural light, with French doors opening directly onto the deck to create a gentle flow between airy indoor comfort and serene outdoor space. It’s the perfect setting for slow mornings, relaxed film nights and the kind of unhurried evenings that make a getaway feel truly restorative. The well equipped kitchen keeps self catering simple, while The Old Mill Bar & Restaurant, just a short stroll away, offers wood fired pizzas, relaxed date night dishes and lakeside cocktails without leaving the park.

The bedroom is a romantic sanctuary, centred around a striking four poster bed dressed in soft hotel quality linens. A soothing, spa like feel continues into the bathroom, where a freestanding feature bath invites long, luxurious soaks, complete with spa-style bathrobes, fluffy towels and quality complimentary toiletries to elevate your stay.

Step onto the private terrace and the lodge’s standout feature awaits. Nestled in a peaceful corner and surrounded by nature, the hot tub provides a wonderfully secluded spot to unwind - whether it’s a quiet morning dip, a restorative mid afternoon pause or an indulgent soak beneath the stars. With woodland scenery and the gentle sounds of nature as your backdrop, it’s an idyllic space for romance, reflection and pure relaxation.

For walkers, gentle routes weave through the Stonerush Lakes grounds, with nearby bridleways leading through woodland, countryside and lakeside scenery rich with wildlife. The South-West Coast Path is within easy reach too, offering spectacular coastal walks and sandy stretches at Talland Bay, Lantic Bay and Seaton Beach - all offering beautiful, year round dog friendly exploring.

Venturing a little further, you’ll find a wealth of unforgettable days out. Explore the dramatic landscapes of Bodmin Moor, wander the cascades of Golitha Falls, or spend the day at world class attractions including the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. With picturesque harbours, beaches, coastal towns and countryside all close by, the lodge puts you at the heart of some of Cornwall’s most celebrated scenery.

Every thing was great the only thing letting it down was the kitchen tap area which was covered in black mould on the worktop near the taps not a good impression of a luxury cabin.

I have photos if you wish to see them. The staff in the old mill restaurant were excellent nothing was ever too much to make you feel welcome and food was great. Generally the cabin could do with a makeover , I know this is hard when you have so many guests over the year.

Overall, another very pleasant and comfortable stay at Stonerush Lakes.

The property has an unusual layout - I bedroom, with a double bathroom (bath and separate shower). We did not use the bath. The mattress on the bed was very soft and probably due for replacement. The same applies to the sofa. The shower room, on the other hand, appears new. The kitchen work surface is long past its best - the design was a basic flaw in the overall construction of the lodges, resulting in water damage. All appliances were in good working order except the fridge, which seems to be missing some parts and has a broken freezer compartment door. Kitchen contents were all fine, although a bit low on teaspoons (just four!). The hot tub was good, but as we get older, we find it difficult to remove and replace the cover. None of this really detracted from our enjoyment of the property, but in future, this would not be our first choice .

An absolutely lovely stay for a romantic weekend.

Very much enjoyed the hot tub and balcony. The place was well kitted out for all our needs, including a hairdryer, dressing gowns and tea towel. Possibly most importantly, fantastic WiFi. However there are parts in need of some love. The dishwasher has lost half of its wheels (and two of the remaining one are clinging on for dear life). The place was a bit dusty upon arrival (but not sure when it was last used before us, so that might play into it). The place was hard to find, from the main gate to our road was a bit unclear, and even upon finding it the useful S4 badge wasn't seen in the dark (could use a light on it). Speaking of lights, the hot tub has a nice solar panel motion sensor light which illuminates the area very well at night - so long as it's been a sunny day. Our February trip did not coincide with a sunny day, so we did have to improvise. But overall it's a fantastic place and I'm hoping to come back one day.
