Description

Tucked away in a peaceful lakeside setting and just a short drive from the ever-popular Cornish coast, 6 Lakeview is a stylish contemporary lodge set within 28 acres of woodland, lakes and wildlife at Stonerush Lakes, near Looe and Polperro.

Designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, the lodge enjoys a private, secluded position with serene countryside views, ideal for couples seeking space, privacy and a slower pace of life.

One of the lodge’s standout features is the spacious decked terrace, perfectly positioned to soak up the tranquil setting.

Here, a private sunken hot tub invites long, unhurried evenings beneath clear night skies, while outdoor seating makes dining alfresco an easy pleasure as birds skim the lake and woodland wildlife quietly passes by.

Inside, the lodge feels bright, refined and thoughtfully laid out.

Large doors flood the open-plan living space with natural light, creating a relaxed flow between indoors and out.

Comfortable seating and a dining area sit alongside a sleek, fully equipped kitchen, making it just as enjoyable to cook and unwind at home as it is to explore the surrounding area.

The beautifully presented master bedroom offers a calming retreat at the end of the day, complete with a luxurious freestanding bath for indulgent soaks and an en-suite shower room for added convenience, perfect after coastal walks or countryside adventures.

A gentle stroll from the lodge brings you to The Old Mill Bar & Restaurant, a welcoming lakeside spot known for its friendly team, relaxed atmosphere and wood-fired pizzas, handcrafted cocktails and seasonal dishes, no need to drive once you’ve arrived.

From the doorstep, explore nearby gentle trails with four-legged friends, or venture further afield to discover some of Cornwall’s most loved destinations.

Looe charms with its harbour, beach and boat trips, Polperro offers timeless fishing-village character, while Fowey tempts with independent shops, galleries and ferry crossings.

Beach lovers can enjoy East Looe Beach, Talland Bay or dog-friendly Seaton and Lantic Bay, all within easy reach, along with access to the South West Coast Path.

Blending lakeside tranquillity, contemporary comfort and an excellent base for exploring Cornwall, 6 Lakeview is a luxurious hideaway, perfect for romantic escapes, peaceful retreats and memorable breaks at any time of year.

We had a fantastic holiday in the lodge.

The site is so peaceful and quiet. The lodge had everything we needed, it was clean and tidy. My only negatives maybe have a manual on how to use say the washing machine and the toaster would have helped. But after I'd spoken to reception they were more than helpful and someone popped round to help out. A bonus of having a car charger next the lodge, unfortunately ours didn't work to begin with, but someone came out to fix it very quickly, and we were sorted. We wouldn't hesitate to return again for another holiday, plus the good weather also helped.

The Charteroak Development is peaceful and very well looked after with a pleasant bar/restaurant on-site.

The accommodation however, is tired and in need of some love and attention. Several blinds were broken, the mattress is uncomfortable (for 70/90 kilo bodyweight). A freezer draw was broken, work surfaces badly marked. Lack of cutlery and kitchen utensils (no frying pan, only one oven tray). The fitted oven had only one shelve so we were very limited in what we could cook at one time. There were no latches to hold patio doors open. We had to use chairs to prop them open. Lack of outside furniture ( not as pictured on website) it only has a small table and 4 chairs. Nothing of comfort. Having a south facing terrace is beautiful but no shade at all so it could benefit from an umbrella. Decking and gate both need maintenance. This is meant as constructed criticism only as overall we had a relaxing stay and would visit Charteroak again.

Lovely cottage, well kept, clean and ready for us.

Perfect place for a short break. On site pub wasn't worth it for dinner but plenty near by to pick from. Private comment: The deck was super slippery and covered in moss. We brushed this out of the way and was probably due to the constant rain rather than cleaning but worth mentioning. The main shower kept clogging up and half the toiletries were empty!
