6 Water's Edge

Stunning property with wonderful welcome as lights and heating were on to greet us after a long journey and the hot tub was ready to go!

Perfect setting and extremely comfortable, spoilt only by small things that the reception staff seemed unable to sort out for us. For example, no terrestrial tv available, deck not cleaned and tidied, no spare toilet rolls, hoover that didn't suck, no dustpan and brush, heating that seemed to come on at strange hours even through the night, insufficient cutlery and china to be able to use the dishwasher, incorrect address given to access the internet and no written instructions for equipment eg the woodburning stove.

Another lovely stay in a beautiful location.

The only snag was the TV which we could only watch one channel which was BBC1. Maintenance chaps came in and discovered there was a problem with the modem as we were not receiving a signal. Despite attempts to resolve the issue, each time we used the tv is kept asking to install channels or sign in with our email address.

My daughter and i had a lovely 4 night break in the lodge .

It was warm , comfortable and clean . A lovely position overlooking the lake . We had everything we needed . The double bed was very creaky but other than that the lodge and hot tub was a real treat

Location and position of the lodge on the site were excellent.

The service from Sykes leading up to our stay was excellent and we will definitely use them again.

Overall we liked our lodge.

Beautiful setting overlooking the lake. However a few things would have made it better and could be easily rectified such as outside furniture not clean before we arrived so had to clean it ourselves. Bins in bathroom not closed over which is unhygienic. Not stall for the dressing table so had to squat to do my hair etc, not practical at all. Freezer door didn't close properly and when we arrived the freezer was frosted up as a result. No welcome pack only milk and a tiny bottle of washing up liquid and 2 dishwasher tablets. I have stayed in many self catering places now and had much better. These are small things but would make for a better experience. The restaurant was over priced for what you got I felt. The staff were lovely though. We enjoyed our holiday but it could have been slightly better for the money paid.

We had the best holiday in such an amazing place.

It was so clean and comfortable, with the lake and hot tub making it extra special. I will always have that lovely memory of waking up in the morning , opening the curtains and door and watching the lake. Amazing thank you can't wait to return.

Beautiful peaceful location, great for nature lovers.

Had some great food and drinks at the restaurant - lovely restaurant manager, she took a genuine interest in all her customers. We hope to return in the not too distant future….

We had a wonderful 3 night break, just so relaxing and peaceful.

All you can hear are birds, lambs and the stream nearby. Had day trips out and back in time to enjoy the sun on the decking and a dip in the hot tub later. Lots of wildlife to enjoy. The lodge itself is beautiful, really nicely done. Beds and sofas comfy, showers excellent, decking furniture comfy. The only minor negatives were: We were advised not to use the log burner due to a crack in the glass but as it was fairly warm we wouldn’t have anyway. I did find it a little cold in bed as the quilt is very thin so had to put some extra clothing on. Some extra blankets or throws would have been appreciated, as would a small stool for the dressing table. The lounger cushions could do with a good clean and after the first night the TV kept coming on on HongKong TV and we couldn’t get onto the normal channel guide but we made do with Netflix or YouTube which was fine. Overall it was fantastic and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it or return. It’s ideally placed to explore lots of attractions such as the stunning Golitha Falls, Lanhydrock House, Cotehele, Looe etc. We wished we were staying longer. We ate at The Mill on our last night which was very pleasant. Thank you so much for a wonderful break at the beautiful lodge in amazing surroundings.

This is our second visit to this property the new decking & hot tub are fabulous could not fault it

Everything as listed very comfortable and clean

It would have been nice to have had some blankets and firewood supplied.

The central heating was good, but it would have been a lovely touch to have the additional comforts. The accommodation was otherwise lovely and was perfect for our holiiday. Our girls loved it (ages 4 and 6). Word of advice, bring DVDs and games. There were a few available, but choice was limited. Luckily we could access our netflix and iplayer accounts!

The best lodge we have ever stayed at.

The lodge itself was cosy and homely yet very spacious. The food at the restaurant on site was delicious and we were grateful they did takeaway so we could enjoy the food in the lodge. The scenery and wildlife were gorgeous morning to night and having the deck to sit on and enjoy the views was one The lodge was well furnished and we found we had everything we needed, even the showers were impressive.

We love staying at Stonerush and like number 6 due to the log burner.

That said, it would be nice if logs and kindling were provided. Also, the lodge is looking a bit tired. Bits of blinds are damaged, some lose door handles and the sink in the bathroom was blocked. However, this didn't detract from a lovely stay and we will be back.

We booked a last minute getaway and honestly it did not disappoint!

I've stayed at the site previously but in a different lodge and can say I will 100% be back, it was super cosy and comfy and being right on the lake was beautiful! The hot tub provided a perfect way to unwind on a cold winters evening! 100% recommend ✨️

Surrounded by nature. Very cosy and warm. Especially loved the wood burner and hot tub and the lake right beneath the balcony. Very well equipped for four people Close to Looe & Polperro for great coastal walking.

Booked a long weekend to celebrate my fiancée’s 50th birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A picturesque little park with our lodge down by the side of one of the lakes, we even had a welcoming party of Canada geese, ducks and carp upon arrival. A big thank you to all the wonderful, friendly staff who helped make this a very memorable weekend for us both. Special thanks to Sally for all the help and information prior to our arrival, the balloons and bubbly in the lodge when we arrived was lovely and very much appreciated by Hayley and myself, thank you so much. The park itself was not too busy and offered some much needed peace and tranquillity. The grounds team have the park looking absolutely beautiful and we hardly even noticed when they were working right alongside our lodge, superb work. The lodge itself was just as we hoped it would be, very clean, very comfortable and offering a good deal of privacy. The evenings spent relaxing in the hot tub, looking across the lake as the sun dropped toward the horizon, will live long in our hearts. Everything we needed was just where it should be and we had no complaints whatsoever. Food and drink at the Old Mill bar and restaurant was first class, as were the friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble and the whole team at Stonerush lakes are the difference between a lovely holiday and an outstanding 5 star memorable holiday retreat. This property is simply beautiful.

The staff were welcoming and kept me informed of everything i needed to know and offered help if there was anything i needed (there wasnt as literally everything was there to make the stay perfect) they provided a beautiful set of bathroom bits and even a welcome box with things like dishwasher tablet, washing up liquid, cloth, tea coffee sugar and even a fresh pint of milk in the fridge plus more bits. The chalet was equipped with everything you could possibly want- whether a family with a young baby (travel cot/highchair) or a couple needing a iron/hoover/ironing board. really could not have asked for a nicer place to stay while exploring Cornwall. Food in the restaurant was so good and again staff so friendly. i really would recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing stay.....nothing quite like a morning coffee in a hot tub

Had a fantastic stay at no.

6 Waters Edge. On arrival the lodge was lit with cosy lighting and to our surprise had a Christmas tree. Everything was clean and the hot tub maintained to a high standard. The new hot tub and decking were a bonus, although the log burner was the best extra for me. Absolutely will return again. Thank you Stone Rush.

Absolutely amazing place very very quiet just what we wanted after busy days out exploring coming home to the lovely log burner and amazing jacuzzi,In a very remote place so be well organised with your shopping etc before your stay we enjoyed it very much and would definitely return I would like to say though a few more lights outside would be a great help as going in the winter with the dark early nites apart from that amazing we had a lovely week here didn’t want to come home !

First off we loved our stay and we love having a break in Cornwall.

Our lodge was comforting however we feel the cleaning could be a tad better. The surfaces of the kitchen were incredibly sticky, the floors were quite grubby and there was mould in the shower. I did try to hoover the floors but the hoover seemed to want to spit dirt out as opposed to sucking up the dirt so resorted to the broom. I couldn't find a dust pan though. BUT! regardless we would happily stay again and loved the site. Thank you very much for a much needed Getaway

We have visited the same cottage 5 out of the last 8 years.

The location is relaxing and the accommodation itself is modern with home comforts. We especially loved the renovated deck and new hot tub. We had a lovely family break but the only negative (and they didn’t really impact our stay) is the main bed in the bedroom is so uncomfortable. The linen is lovely but the mattress and pillows (we now take our own pillows) could do with being looked at. As a result we don’t get as much sleep but we do get extra hours looking at the lovely view or the tub soothes away the achey muscles. We will return again for sure

We had another lovely stay this week.

We have stayed at Stonerush many times and 6 Lakeside twice and we absolutely loved it. The peace and tranquility really allows us to wind down from our busy lives at work. The log burner and hot tub are a real delight. We have 2 very small critisms of No.6 that would have turned our holiday from 'friggin' Awesome' to 'absolutely Perfect'. 1. The cutlery provided is rather canteen-esque. I've bent so many spoons this week Uri Geller will think I'm after his job. 2. The cabin has seen some investment since we stayed the same time last year with the replacement of the decking balustrade from simple wire to glass. This looks great and I guess it provides an increased level of safety for children. We found it creates a barrier to the wonderful wildlife that we love Stonerush for. We noticed a significant decrease in birds and squirrels visiting our cabin. Sadly the glass balustrade and cabin windows doesn't seem to fit into the weekly cleaning spec, therefore the view of the lake was hindered by 2 panes of dirty glass. On day 2 we found ourselves grabbing a squidgy at the supermarket and cleaning the windows and glass ourselves so we can take maximum advantage of the view of the lake for rest of our holiday. All that said, a lovely cabin, on a lovely site and we can't wait to come back. Thank you for another great stay.

We enjoyed our stay and the views are lovely and very peaceful.

The cleanliness wasn't of a good standard the fridge was dirty and bedside lights very dusty, dishwasher needed a wipe round.But after speaking to the office they have said they are getting new cleaners?! There are a few things that need updating as tired and old, the sofas are very uncomfortable and has no support the bed is very squeaky and could do with a firmer mattress. We felt that the front door needs a blind or curtain as if you have light on people can see in especially when people walk past right by door. The privacy glass around hot tub could be a bit more as there is a walkway beside property and you can be seen in hot tub.

Very clean cottage in a quiet and tranquil location.

We enjoyed the company of the ducks, fish and birds in the lake in front of our cottage. The hot tub was a delight and maintained extremely well throughout our stay. The reception team Sally and Lainy were very hospitable, enthusiastic and ensured we had everything we needed. Thanks everyone for a wonderful stay; we will certainly recommend this hidden treasure to our friends and family!

6 Waters Edge and Stonerush Lakes exceeded all expectations.

The site is beautiful, quiet and well maintained with exceptional customer service. The lodge itself is very comfortable, beautifully decorated and a joy to return to after day trips out. We have nothing but happy memories from our holiday and cannot wait to return next year. Very highly recommended.

We booked this Lodge last minute and were a little dubious after reading reviews on other lodges in both of the parks.

We need not have worried. Yes it could do with a bit more of a thorough clean and a few bits are looking tired but it was beautiful and we had a truely wonderful time. Aside from the kitchen units being a bit dirty, easily rectified, the rest of the Lodge was fine. It was wonderfully warm and cozy and we found the sofas and bed very comfortable too (the pillows were so nice we bought some when we got home!) There were plenty of crockery and glasses etc. The peacefulness and tranquility offered by this lodge on the lake was perfect. The views are lovely and very private. The only noise we heard was from the wildlife, which was exactly what we needed. It was really helpful to receive the little box from Charteroak with the washing up liquid, sponge, coffee etc in, thank you. We used the Premier Shop 10 minute drive away, which has a nice butchers in and good for logs etc for the file, and the Spar shop, though there is a Morrisons 20 minutes drive away too. We made good use of the hottub at the Lodge, though the jets didn't work as well as they should but it was fine for us and I know it's been mentioned before in reviews. All in all we had a really lovely break away and we will definitely be booking this lodge again. My only gripe with the park itself is while we were there the restaurant was closed for renovation and this was not mentioned on Sykes, Charteroak or the restaurant's websites. It would have been nice to have known in advance and was a real shame as it was one of the reasons we booked this park.

Lovely weekend would throughly recommend

We had a lovely stay, our fourth at Stonerush Lakes and twice at the same cottage.

Some crockery and cutlery wasn’t clean but was in cupboards so required washing prior to use and the jets on the hot tub didn’t work despite reporting the issue. We still had a fantastic time and will be back again

The second property we've stayed at at Stonerush Lakes and it didn't disappoint.

Everything we needed, the lodge is to a high standard and perfect location if you're looking for some complete rest and relaxation which we were. The hottub is maintained well and I'm sure they don't get mentioned very often but the guy who came to check it everyday was very friendly and chatty. We loved feeding the fish and birds everyday and were privileged to get a regular visit from a kingfisher to the lake. The only thing that may need attention soon is the shower trap in the ensuite as the water didn't drain away quick enough and the water leaked out under the door luckily we always put a towel down to step out onto otherwise there may have been a puddle. Although the woodburner is a nice touch we couldn't see if you would ever need it as the lodge was so toasty warm. Took us a while to decipher TV remote as there are 3 remotes in lodge but turned out just needed new batteries which having been caught out before we always carry a couple with us! But the stay was perfect we will be returning soon.

Stayed the middle of September 22, Everything was absolutely spot on, clean throughout, comfortable and warm.

So peaceful, sometimes the only noise were the carp snorting in the lake. Had a meal several times on site, quite pricey but very nice. We even had the pleasure of an adorable cat for the full 5 days, until we said our farewells. Will definitely return !

A truly wonderful retreat on the water’s edge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break in this tranquil and peaceful lodge. It was clean and comfortable, the bed was wonderful. We cannot thank the owners enough for all the little touches such as the amenities and the milk we found when we arrived. A fantastic location to relax and recharge.

We had a lovely stay at 6 Waters Edge.

In the first 5 minutes, I spotted carp (though soon discovered this was not a rarity), also ducks, geese and a Kingfisher! It was so tranquil and the decking area was perfect for my early morning coffee alone. My children 8 & 6 thoroughly enjoyed the cottage too and the hot tub was lovely after a day exploring. The only suggestion we would make… well it was my son’s - would be a small toy chest of some various toys inside. We would love to return and highly recommend it.

We’ve stayed a number of times, however the cabins are now showing their age and general cleanliness was poor.

They need a good deep clean and checking over. Not sure we would stay again which is a shame.

Our second visit to Stonerush lakes and #6 Water's Edge delivered a tranquil and relaxing experience with a panaramic woodland lake view.

The accommodation is spacious, well laid out and fully outfitted as described. It was found to be very clean and welcoming on our arrival. As a retired couple we were comfortable with the isolation and stayed on site most of the time although there are plenty of places within a short drive of Lanreath for those looking to visit this beautiful area of Cornwall. We would be happy to recommend 6 Water's Edge to anyone looking for a quiet country break.

Such a lovely location and excellent lodge.

Very clean and tidy upon arrival. Every mod-con available. Hot tub was lovely, shower was easy to use and temperature easily set. Bedding was very "noisy" though. It was like sleeping in tin foil. Both the pillows and the duvet were very loud. Also, lack of windows meant ventilation was difficult in the evenings as we could not just leave a door open. Apart from that, everything was perfect. The site was lovely, the Old Mill Restaurant served lovely food and the staff there were extremely courteous and attentive. Overall, a very good week in a lovely location.

A beautiful setting and excellent accommodation.

Very clean and tidy with everything you would need in the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable as were the settees. We appreciated the tranquility and the wildlife.

Great facilities including hot tub which was enjoyed after days out walking. Comfortable and warm on the evenings. Great food in the on-site restaurant.

the property was well equipped with little extra touches like, a welcome pack with tea/coffee and some toiletries. The lodge was very clean and decorated to a high standard. The hot tub was clean and worked well. We ate at the pub on site, the food was amazing and really good quality, the staff were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely coming back for another stay.

Toaster blew the electricity twice on Sunday.

I reported it during the morning but only got an Answer phone . We left Friday and I didn’t see or hear from anyone all week

It was a really lovely lodge, comfortable, clean and the site was fabulous. The log burner and hot tub were well enjoyed by us. We would definitely stay again.

We would have liked the Reception, pub and restaurant to have been a little bit more accessible/open.

Likely to visit again and considering buying if one of the Waters Edge lodges comes up for sale

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Stonerush lakes.

Each time a different cabin. 6 Waters Edge was very comfortable with views of the lakes. It was lovely to wake up every morning to the views. The cabin was clean and had everything in it for a self catering holiday. Hot tub was amazing and used every evening. Only thing that I would complain about was that the restaurant on site was closed due to COVID. Obviously this could not be helped but as not much around for food it did put a damper on working out where to eat each day.

The place itself is beautiful and definitely one of the best locations we have ever stayed in, however the building is a bit tired, some of the decking had rotted and the floor in the bathroom was damp.

The toaster pulled the electrical breaker as soon as we used it but it was replaced next day by the site staff, who were extremely helpful. None of these things would stop us recommending this as a lovely, peaceful place to stay

Location and view was stunning.

The lodge it self was clean everything you needed and more. Have already recommended to friends and family will be looking to book our next stay very soon

We stayed last year and we were 100% satisfised with our stay this year we felt that little things let it down.

Double bed matress was uneven in places and needs replacing it got to the point I could feel myself rolling. In the sink area the worktop is starting to break away where the sink sits. Some of the glasses are stained they need to be replaced. Overall we love the place the staff are friendly and the setting is lovely and definatelty will be come backing again just those little touches to improve the overall stay.

Unfortunately the sofas were very saggy and therefore quite uncomfortable.

Everything else was just as we had hoped.

The lodge was fantastic and in a beautiful and peaceful location.

I had read other feedback and one point someone had made was about leaves around the hot tub not being cleared. The hot tub is very private and under lots of trees therefore leave drop daily so yes we did need to sweep using the broom left by the hot tub each day. That’s probably why there is a broom! It was no trouble and the advantage of the trees meant that we were sheltered from the rain and could use it whatever the weather. The umbrella over the outside dining area was broken so could do with being replaced but again no issue for us. This is a fantastic lodge in a great location we gave had a lovely week and would definitely come back.

So we have stayed at the Charteroak development for our fourth time and this is the first time we have stayed at 6 Watersedge.

We love the location and the style of the development and the lodges are very nice hence why we chose this one. Your booking team were very good and helpful when we first booked this some 5 weeks ago and we were excited to be going away after the government restrictions were easing. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to see that the stickers on the lock were showing it had been cleansed throughout. We got in and started setting up and noticed when putting our things away that the en-suite bathroom floor was dirty, the ceiling has cobwebs on it and the toilet brush holder was not very clean. In addition the outside decking area was very dirty and we swept it ourselves. I did not report these issues to the reception as I am not that sort of person but on Saturday morning I did report the fact that the shower in the en-suite was not working in fact the missing parts for it were in the bathroom cabinet. The shower was replaced on Monday so we were without the main shower for three days. This was not good enough as it clearly showed that no one had checked this before our arrival or after the last departure. The lodge is a nice lodge and I don’t want to decry the fact that we still had a lovely time down here and in Cornwall but when you are paying premium money for a 5 star property it’s got to be good. But the lodge is showing signs of wear and tear now and needs some TLC to keep it up to the standards of this development.

A Stormy Winter Break: We stayed here for a week in February 2020 and despite the rain and the storm absolutely loved it!

Having arrived a couple of hours early, we were nevertheless given access to the cabin straight away. Not having any immediate neighbours, made for a tranquil week. The hot tub was a treat, though storm Dennis threatened to blow the G+T out of our glasses! The cabin came with a clean, well equipped kitchen. The bed linen was lovely and crisp and there were dressing gowns available which came in handy when returning indoors after a session in the hot tub in gale force winds. A wood burner made for cosy evenings and the spare logs which had been left either by the previous occupants or the site management were appreciated. A spacious deck offered a teak dining set for 6, which for obvious reasons we didn’t use. Sunday lunch in the Restaurant was tasty & staff was friendly and attentive. Now the moans: WiFi was unprotected, which was disappointing. Handles on the outside of the terrace doors would have been beneficial as they would have saved our fingernails. We felt the cabin was a little tired in places. The carpet in the main bedroom was stained, as was the curtain (which did not detract from the fabulous view over the lake though). The freezer needed defrosting badly, but it was the end of the season, cleaners were probably too pushed, and we assumed somebody would get around to it before the summer. Overall, we felt the cabins would benefit from a final check by management before occupation, especially if guests are paying full rate during the summer - as we didn’t, we didn’t expect perfection. All this being said, we enjoyed our stay tremendously and would happily return!

Absolutely loved 6 waters edge.

Will deffo come back. Exceed expections and very relaxing. Hot tub perfect. Bed comfy and I’m hard to please where beds concerned. Fire perfect. Can’t fault anything

A few minor things , guttering needs sorting out to terrace part as always dripping and making the wood wet and the mat.

Oven gloves would be a good idea. Maybe a better stereo with Bluetooth these days.

Everything was perfect.

Very quiet and relaxing weekend time to just chill forget the phone and the day to day chores. The lady on reception very friendly and helpful. Only niggles and this is all I could come up with is maybe a shelter or awning for over the hot tubs. And maybe an advisory in the confirmation email about bringing your own wood etc for the fire. Will definitely be back again.

The basic cottage was lovely, the location beautiful but we felt that this was relied upon too heavily, with the details to what would have made it an exceptional experience missed.

The major disappointment was arriving to see a deck covered in dead leaves, even around the hot pool area, with a broom sitting there with what seemed to be a DIY sign on it - they had to have been there for ages and it took the first 15 minutes to clean up. There was no information pack about the site, where to find the refuse bins for example, or the Cornish places of interest to visit. A pint of milk in the fridge would have been so welcome after a long journey to go with the tea and coffee left for us - a spare toilet roll wouldn't have gone amiss either! So whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Water's Edge we felt that the property could have been better presented and wasn't quite value for money.

The location of the lodge is fantastic but the lodge itself is a little tired and some furniture needed replacing we rung and asked if we could check in early as we arrived a little early but was told no check in was at 3pm so we went and had lunch and arrived on site around 2;30 hoping that having rung and said we was early they might have prepared our lodge but no we had to wait another 3 quarters of an hour before we eventually gained access and then the lodge wasn't that clean, crumbs on top of the toaster cobwebs in the bathroom little things but still things i would not expect the old mill restaurant was really good and the food was excellent , my biggest concern though was that we had our weekend spoilt by some rather noisy neighbours , when we asked at reception what could be done about this if they got rowdy later on in the evening we were told to go and knock on the door and ask them to turn the music down as there was no one on site overnight .

this spoilt the time we spent at the lodge which was a shame as I said location was blissful and I would return for the location itself , but probably to a newer lodge .

Very relaxing, could have stayed for looking and already to book for next year.

It’s a beautiful holiday lodge in a very quiet holiday park.

Comfy furniture, comfy beds, modern kitchen facilities, really nice veranda with view of the little lake with garden furniture. It’s therapeutic to use the jacuzzi at night time in the quiet , seeing the clear Skye. Not far from Looe and well positioned for day tours all around Cornwall. We went 6 years ago and had good memories and were not disappointed this time either

We had a great holiday!

just a couple of small pointers.... The bed sheets weren't very soft and were very noisy and the babies travel cot really wasn't very comfortable at all.
