Description

Set alongside a gently flowing stream and edged by woodland, 8 Streamside is a peaceful, well-appointed lodge just a short drive from Looe, Polperro and Fowey.

With lakes, wildlife and walking trails on the doorstep, plus easy access to Cornwall’s south coast, it’s an excellent choice for couples, families and friends seeking privacy, space and a restorative countryside escape.

The lodge sits within a generous plot, offering a reassuring sense of seclusion.

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the surrounding trees and draw natural light into the open-plan living space, while doors open directly onto a private deck with outdoor furniture and a sunken hot tub, ideal for relaxed mornings, alfresco dining or winding down beneath clear night skies.

Inside, the living area feels bright and welcoming, with comfortable seating, a large TV and a wood burner that makes it especially appealing for cooler seasons.

The well-equipped kitchen is designed for easy self-catering, whether that’s a simple breakfast before heading out or a family meal enjoyed together around the dining table.

When it’s time to rest, the master bedroom offers a king-size bed, Freeview TV and a modern en-suite shower room, while the twin bedroom is perfect for children or additional guests.

A contemporary family bathroom with bath and overhead shower completes the layout, providing flexibility for longer or multi-generational stays.

Guests can stroll to The Old Mill Bar & Restaurant onsite, a popular spot for wood-fired pizzas, relaxed evening meals and handcrafted cocktails, all served by a friendly team frequently praised in guest reviews.

Woodland trails and lakeside walks begin right outside the lodge, making it easy to explore without ever getting in the car.

For days out, the picturesque harbour town of Looe offers beaches, boat trips and coastal walks, while Polperro’s narrow streets and fishing heritage are full of character.

Fowey is known for its independent shops and ferries across the estuary, and family-friendly attractions such as the Eden Project, Adrenaline Quarry and Porfell Wildlife Park are all within easy reach.

Beach lovers are well catered for too, with East Looe Beach, Talland Bay, Seaton and Lantic Bay offering a mix of lifeguarded sands, scenic coves and dog-friendly options year-round, alongside access to the South West Coast Path.

Combining tranquil woodland surroundings, quality interiors and a superb base for exploring Cornwall’s coast and countryside, 8 Streamside is a relaxed, versatile lodge, perfect for slow mornings, scenic adventures and indulgent evenings in the hot tub, whatever the season.

The site was spacious and well laid out with privacy which for us was important.

The lodge is in a very shady area but there is some grass at the side if you wish to sit out in the sun, unfortunately the owners didn’t supply deck chairs so we had to buy our own. The lodge itself needs quite a bit of maintenance. There are no windows only doors with glass which is ok when you can have them all open but at night it’s very hot and airless. The hot tub cover is very heavy and also falling apart, the decking is also uneven and an accident waiting to happen. The fridge, toaster & oven need to be replaced. Just a suggestion the owner should spend some time at the location and see for themselves. Simple things like the mat at front door is a hazard but cheap to replace. We enjoyed our stay but were disappointed with the lodge and when you are paying for something you expect better standards.

Fabulous time at 8 Streamside.

Remote and peaceful and set slightly away from the other lodges which was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful setting with the outside balcony looking down over the stream which was perfect for sitting out with a drink early evening. Plenty of space, and everything was clean and comfortable, good facilities with the added bonus of the hot tub! Our only criticism would be some maintenance is required for the outside area including the table and chairs which were old and weather-worn. Overall a fantastic stay and we will definitely return!

A serene dream to be seen.

Such an amazing place to just unwind and switch off. The whole site is made to be peaceful and enchanting. The cabin was in a perfect area for being quiet and had all the amenities you would want without having to go anywhere. The rooms were cleand and comfy, however, the outdoor furniture was not at the same standard which made it awkward to sit outside for long periods. A shame as this was something we were looking forward to. Inside was just beautiful and the log fire really adds that bit of special to your stay, as does the hot tub which is well maintained and the perfect temperature to make you feel special too. Having Wi-Fi helped to keep our son happy and he enjoyed the time being switched off too. This was our second time here and we can't wait to come again, and would highly recommend booking . The team behind the scenes were amazing too and kept us informed and made sure we had all we needed for our stay. A little bit of luxury for all.
