The View

The View is in a beautiful location and really good area to visit lots of lovely places nearby.

The accommodation is really nice and everything you need although maybe an extra comfy chair would be nice. The only issue and this was even worse due to the heatwave but was also an issue on the slightly cooler but still warm days was that there is no blind to cover the 2 big windows by the front door and this meant the place was very warm in the afternoon and early evening. If there was a blind this would help a lot with this issue. Overall had a lovely stay and was very nice of Sharon to let us in earlier on the Saturday we were arriving.

Overall the property was very clean and comfortable and the facilities within the cottage were excellent.

Due to its location on the edge of Bodmin Moor any prospective customers should be aware that the weather can be a bit unpredictable.

A really beautiful place, and view hence the name! Fairly easy to get to not far off the A30 and central to north and south coasts. Extremely comfy bed. Recommend the Borough Arms in Bodmin, only 15 minutes drive away. We will be back, maybe October time.

I booked this property for a quiet Christmas with my partner, my dog and myself and it was absolutely perfect.

It's beautifully presented throughout . The kitchen was well equipped (we packed half of our kitchen cupboards to ensure we had the utensils and equipment to cook Christmas dinner but we needn't have) it was a welcome surprise to find a holiday let with all the utensils we needed and in excellent condition. On arrival there was enough logs, kindling and eco firelighters to get the first fire burning if we weren't already prepared. The view from the hot tub shows how lovely and remote it is, during the day you only see fields and in the night maybe three or four properties lit up in the distance meaning minimal light pollution affecting visibility of the starry sky. The hot tub is opposite the neighbouring holiday rental, the owners have added a pull out privacy screen that can be used to partially or fully enclose the outdoor area from view. Once you are in the hot tub and settled you don't really need the screen at all due to The View being slightly uphill of the other property, all you can see is the spectacular view. Although fully remote this property provides an excellent base to explore North and South Cornwall with so many amazing beaches within a half hour drive, a small walk down an almost unused lane brings you to Cardinham woods, so the dog was really spoilt for choice. We arrived fully equipped with washing up liquid, cloths, tea towels, loo roll etc knowing even when supplies are provided they're not intended to last the duration of the stay, they are just to get you through until you get to the shops and stock up. If like me, regardless of all your preparation and planning, you manage to forget your toothbrush the good news is it's only a 10 minute drive to Bodmin where you will find all the major supermarkets, so easy to pop and grab whatever you need. Full cleaning equipment was available (hoover, dustpan, spray mop etc) which was a nice touch to help us keep on top of the wintery, Christmassy mess. Finding the property is easy if you do a google street view and drop a pin to save the location on your maps. We did this prior to travelling and had no trouble locating it. We spoke to one of the owners the day before arriving and she was very informative and offered to be available if we needed help with anything, even letting us know we could check in as early as we liked as the property was all prepped for our arrival. She checked if we were celebrating Christmas and offered to get a tree up ready for us, I confirmed we were, but also she needn't do anything as we'd already packed bits to pop around and make it festive, when we arrived we found she had still taken the time to add a few festive touches to the table and window sills which were very much appreciated. We didn't have any need to contact the owners during our stay but met Sharon when we were leaving and she was as lovely as she had sounded on the phone. Overall a brilliant location, perfect home from home and very accommodating owners. We will definitely be looking to book again in the future.

Stunning views! The bungalow was exceptional, spotless and very well equipped. Great location for exploring Cornwall, highly recommended!

‘The View’ is ideal for visiting Cornwall.

Everything is within an hour’s drive. A car is a necessity to get the most out of the holiday. Sharon (the owner) is a perfect host, providing excellent communication and is very friendly. At the end of each day, the Hot tub was amazing, so relaxing with fantastic views as you listen to the pitter-patter of the rain

Only thing I would say is it looks like it’s a solo holiday home going by the photos but there is another holiday home just behind and the owner also lives on site. Thank you to Sharon the owner for mailing back my luggage that I unfortunately left behind Wish you all the best :)

We had a lovely four night stay at The View.

The only suggestions I would make would be to have a non-slip mat in the shower as the base is very slippy when wet, something both of us found out the hard way! It may have been nice to have a small welcome pack such as a pint of milk and a few tea bags/coffee sachets too but thankfully we had brought our own so did not cause us any problems but if you had arrived there without doing any grocery shopping it is another car journey to the nearest shop (Bodmin has supermarkets within a few miles). I would also suggest anyone who has booked to stay there to look on google maps (photo version) as it is not the easiest place in the world to find. The Sat Nav takes you past the entrance (which only states Woodlands and Stables with no mention of The View from the roadside until you get to the top of the side track). All in all we had a great stay and keep an eye out for the ginger bunny!!!

We loved the fantastic views and wild life from this clean and well equipped property.

The Hot tub was amazing with fantastic views from it which was a real pleasure to end each day after visiting the attractions Cornwall has to offer in abundance. We highly recommend The View and the friendly welcome was very much appreciated from the owner. Hope to see you again.

My wife and I recently stayed here and brought our dog, our stay was perfect, the bungalow was lovely and had everything we needed.

The views are stunning and the location was a great base for visiting Cornwall and Devon. The owners were friendly and welcoming, always on hand to help if we needed it. We will definitely visit again.

This is the second time we have stayed at the View and this was because it's a fantastic place to unwind and relax with the peace and tranquility.

Sharon and Lee are lovely hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back again soon. Thanks again. Tim, Karen and are little dog Poppy.

A lovely property with a beautiful scenic view.

The property is very remote so perfect for a quiet getaway. The cottage is very close to woods for walks, and near to main roads when you want to travel further afield. A car is a necessity, but there is allocated parking The owner lives on site and was friendly and chatty, without being overbearing. We were happily left to our own devices. Would happily recommend to others, and stay again if we were in that area.

Loved the stay at The View, we did think we had an enclosed garden as we have a dog, but this was shared and we were asked to keep her on a lead outside.

We had a lovely time at the view which was enhanced by a week of beautiful weather.

We had everything we needed and the hot tub was a great bonus.the views are excellent.it is very central for travelling round cornwall.and cardinham woods and coffee shop was a nice treat right on the doorstep.the cream tea that was there on arrival was excellent .We can't really fault the place apart from the fact it wasn't quite as private as we thought it would be .but the neighbours staying in the retreat were lovely. Lastly the host Sharon was really helpful and charming .would definitely stay here again

Upon arrival we were greeted by Sharon who immediatly made us feel welcome.

The cottage was very clean and cosy. The bed was very comfortable and having a tv in the bedroom was a nice touch. My only moan was that there is no window in the bathroom. However that will not put me off booking another week there next year. Sharon was an excellent host and would bend over backwards to make your stay memorable.

we stayed in the View (for 2 ) but they also have fantastic options for 4 and 8 people all of which are to a very high standard. The views across the fields have to be seen to be believed.

The View is a little gem, with wonderful views.

It is a great base to explore Cornwall with its history and beautiful countryside and coastline. The hot tub was an added bonus after long days walking and exploring. We would highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful views (as per the name). The property itself has all you need for a home from home stay and a lovely hot tub to sit in, enjoy the views and relax at the end of your day. Sharon and Lee (the owners) are a lovely couple who are very welcoming and friendly. It certainly won't be the last week we spend at The View. ❤️

The owners are really friendly, leave you alone.

You can always contact them and nothing is to much trouble. The views are amazing and it's really peaceful. The hot tub/jacuzzi was checked daily and always ready to use. The log burner was lovely on chilly evenings. Make sure you call Sharon or Lee before you arrive directions given by Skye not accurate enough to find the property as it is just off Bunnys Hill. Directions get you to Bunnys Hill great, but you wouldn't find the view unless you call Sharon or Lee.

The view was amazing, just what we needed as a couple.

Even the dog enjoyed it the property was fresh clean and really comfy the log fire and the hot tub was amazing special after the long wood walks and weather was pretty miserable but that didn't stop us having amazing time and couldn't have asked for better hosts Sharon & Lee were fantastic and were always there to chat to us about anything we wanted or needed will definitely be returning when we can Thank you Sharon and Lee x

Lovely cottage, great location for walking and beautiful views.

Would have preferred a fridge/freezer rather than a fridge with an ice box. The property owners very friendly and helpful.

Amazing place.

Loved every minute. So quiet and the hot tub was gorgeous after a long walk on the beach. Bed comfy and two tvs! Didn’t want to come home. Thanks to Sharon and lee for a lovely stay. Nothing was too much trouble.

The View is a fantastic property, with great owners, The wildlife on the front lawn and surrounding area was amazing to see.

The location is great for visiting all areas of Cornwall and after a day of sightseeing coming back to the Hot tub is much needed and totally appreciated. Also if you have family and friends wanting to join you, they also have an 8 bed property next door.

We had a wonderful stay at The View, which began with a lovely cream tea that had been left for us by the host.

The views were amazing, hot tub is always a welcome addition, and the cottage was well-equipped and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and came out to greet us when we arrived. Seeing the bunnies hopping around was great. The nearby Cardinham Woods and Woods Cafe were a pleasant day out. We will definitely be looking to return to The View in the future.

Lovely place to stay and appropriately named - the view is amazing!

Very clean and tidy, comfy bed, great shower. It’s an ideal base to visit many Cornwall attractions, the Eden project is only about 40 minutes away. The hosts are lovely people and very helpful, the cream tea on arrival was much appreciated. We would recommend The View, we really enjoyed our stay.

We have just returned from a week's holiday at the view, it was in a perfect location.

While you was there it looked like you was in the middle of nowhere but you was 5 mins away from bodmin and roads to take you where you would like to get too, very centralised. The lodge was to a high standard the views were amazing and a lovely hot tub to relax in. The owners were lovely, happy to answer any questions you had. I would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely return. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay

The view is in a fantastic location, perfect retreat after a day of exploring the surrounding towns and walks on the moors.

The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with the added bonus of its own patio area and hot tub, which was fantastic after long walks! Cardinham woods are within walking distance of the property, with easy or more difficult trails and also a very nice café. Really enjoyed our stay at the view and hopefully we will return soon for another holiday. We recommend!!
