Within walking distance of Combe Martin's sandy, dog-friendly beach, with its fascinating rockpools and opportunities for paddling, kayaking and paddleboarding, this welcoming retreat is ideal for families seeking a traditional North Devon seaside holiday. Travel up to your new abode, taking in the tranquil woodland surroundings before stepping inside the open-plan living space. Fully equipped for a self-catered stay, the lodge provides everything needed to prepare home-cooked meals, gather around the dining table, or relax after a day of exploring. As evening falls, spend time on your private veranda, a lovely spot for wildlife watching and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, before retiring to one of two bedrooms, comprising a double and a twin. Single beds uncomfortable, couldn't get a good night's sleep, but the double bed was ok.

The dishwasher was broken and the wall clock was not working. Bedrooms are an ok size but the open plan kitchen/ lounge are was very small and uncomfortable. We frequently saw rats just outside the accommodation and reported this to the bar staff. Whilst we were there the bar facility was open only between 18:00 and 21:00. Draft beer was not available. The only staff member we saw the whole time we were there was helpful and friendly.

We are sorry to hear that you found the single beds uncomfortable and appreciate that mattress comfort can be very personal. We will also make sure the dishwasher and wall clock are checked, as these should of course be working for our guests. We were concerned to read the comment regarding frequently seeing rats and have spoken directly with our park warden about this. One field rat had been spotted around the bird feeders close to the accommodation. Manleigh Park is a small countryside park surrounded by fields and woodland, so we do naturally have wildlife around us. As soon as this was identified, the bird feeders were removed and there have been no further sightings. With regard to the bar, we are a small and peaceful holiday park and advertise the bar as opening on Friday and Saturday evenings only. Due to the size of the park and the number of guests we accommodate, we don't serve draught beer as the wastage involved simply wouldn't be viable, however we do offer a selection of bottled drinks. We appreciate your comments regarding the size of the accommodation. While we understand everyone has different expectations when it comes to space, we do feel our accommodation offers very good value for the price paid, with good-sized bedrooms and everything needed for a comfortable self-catering break. Comfortable and peaceful location overlooking (through the trees) Combe Martin.

The weather wasn't good enough to sit out on the veranda sadly but could watch the birds and squirrels from the sofa. Well-equipped and comfortable, would stay there again.
