“Wow!! What an amazing lodge, spacious, everything you could possibly need for a great stay and immaculately clean”

. Views are out of this world and seeing red deer, buzzards and many other bird species was a real treat. Would definitely recommend to friends and the hosts Peter and Annie are always at the end of the phone to sort out any issues you might have.

The location of Valley View can't be beat - 360 degrees of uninterrupted countryside views where the only sound you'll hear is the sheep with so much to do on your doorstep (beaches, walks, national Trust, reservoir, local outdoor pool, quaint Devon & Somerset towns). Beautifully clean, comfortable and well equipped, the owners have thought of everything. Thank you for the welcome gifts of flowers and chocolates, very thoughtful.

“PERFECT. Accommodation is stunning.”

I'm not really a pet lover so was a little worried that pets are allowed but you wouldn't know there had ever been any - it was spotless. Place is fully equipped and you want for nothing. Views are stunning and you are totally secluded. You can tell by the visitors book with the number of repeat visits that people fall in love with this place. The owner Annie is extremely helpful and goes miles out of her way to help you.

“After having such busy and rushed lives with a newborn, it was so nice to settle down and relax into a beautiful property surrounded by sheep and the country side with a glass of wine.”

The facilities were out of this world, especially the small details like disinfectant wipes, a teddy for our boy and items for the dog. We had a few issues with the Hot Tub, but the owner rang us straight away to help us sort it, which was greatly appreciated. We had a lovely chat with Annie and her sister, which was so pleasant. There were a few local pubs close by and the village of Bampton. We then manged to explore a lot of places in Devon, which were around a 1hr-1.5hr drive. The property itself was lovely, cleaned and quiet. We thank you for such a wonderful stay and will definitely be back if possible :)

What a stunning location with amazing views. Seeing the deer at the bottom of the valley was just amazing. The lodge is well equipped in the kitchen everything you need. The dog welcome basket was a lovely added touch to. We found an amazing butcher thanks to Annie’s recommendation to. Would highly recommend staying here the hot tub was just amazing added bonus to the holiday sitting in that even at night listening to the owls and seeing the bats fly around. Thank you Annie for everything and being so helpful. Much appreciated

We booked again for august as our son and dog j loved it there! The village Bampton down the road is great and we are at The Exeter arms food was fab definitely will return after the new owners just took over and was lovely!! Then Tiverton not far for the bigger supermarkets also 2 great chip shops the one in Bampton (Bampton fish bar) was great also tried the Great British takeaway in Tiverton was lovely aswell. Overall perfect place to relax and unwind. Thanks to the great hosts who were also fabulous at the end of the phone if needed Annie and Peter thank you

The locals were so lovely and friendly too, very unexpected as we have always gone to a neighbouring county and haven't always found it so. would like to say a huge thank you to Annie and Peter for all their hard work keeping the cottage so beautifully. “We had an amazing time at valley view, the cottage is absolutely beautiful and cosy, and was so clean and tidy that we thought that it is brand new for us.”

It was packed with everything you could have needed during a stay. This place is so relaxing and quiet, the views are spectacular with the sheep right next to you to be watched at any time in the 24 hour circle. Sitting in the hot tub early morning surrounded by this beautiful view or at dark night star gazing was so wonderful. The kids loved it too with the large balcony and surrounding grounds to play on. Last not least, the lovely owners were so friendly and helpful in every way. All in all a 5 star and we are dreaming about our next stay at valley view!

“The property looks brand new when you walk in.”

They have thought of everything that we've forgotten on our two visits. It's just a buetiful relaxing spot. When sat on the sofa you can forget the TV is there as you stare out the huge window overlooking the valley fields. We bring so much food and wine with us to make it a self catering break , the fridge freezer is a great size. The decking is great for game's or just relaxing , the hot tub is clean and is perfect for a dip anytime. We like it so much the 4 of us plus the dog have booked again for next year.

The views are incredible with sheep so close, deer in the distance, rabbits hopping around and beautiful birds. The hot tub on the amazing deck is fabulous. The cottage is a home from home with everything you need, clean towels, cozy bedding with soft snuggly blankets and views to look at all day, it’s just beautiful.

We stayed mid December and it was a welcome surprise to find the Lodge decorated for Christmas. It is a perfect place to relax in privacy or venture further afield to explore.

The is very little light pollution there, so if you’re up at 4am and it’s a cloudless night the stars are amazing. We would highly recommend this property.

We've stopped at all sorts of places and this is quite simply the best. Location is perfect if you want beautiful views, wildlife included deer and foxes. So quiet and secluded, and the decking and hot tub were brilliant. You're left alone but the hosts are very happy to help in any way they can, including sending me the Jean's I forgot. The cleanest place we've ever stayed in. Everything you need is already there. It was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. And we've already booked again for next year. Can't wait

“This holiday accommodation is in my honest opinion "outstanding.”

" The post code is slightly out and its a little further up the lane than the sat nav tells you. As soon as you open the door you know its going to be good. Decor is to a good standard and even though the owners allow dogs there was no trace of dog hairs anywhere and the place smelt really fresh. The furniture is really comfortable and the bed linen and towels are of a very high standard. Slept like a log in the large double bed. Shower was easy to use and pressure was really good. The 8 seater hot tub is just what the doctor ordered for a chill out session. There are no neighbours overlooking you and the only sounds really are the sheep in the fields behind you or the odd hoot from an owl. If you want peace and quiet with no interruptions this is definately the place for you. Had occasion to speak to the owners whilst there. They are a super couple and extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this accommodation and will definitely be booking another week to relax and chill out here.

“Perfect location for peace and quiet with fabulous views including lots of sheep, birds and even deer.”

It was much bigger than it seemed in the pictures. There were so many extras at the cottage to make life easier, including weighing scales and baking tins and Tupperware....I gave up baking on holiday years ago because no-one supplied these, but I could have happily done so here. there were instructions for every appliance well organised in a folder. It was extremely clean, everything we needed to know was explained clearly and even the bins and the shed were clean. The towels were so soft and big and luxurious; never had such quality towels in a holiday cottage before. The dog was welcomed with his own kit including treats, a bed and bowls supplied; previous cottages have left lists of rules that have made us feel like Roger was an imposition! The owners were nearby if we needed them but otherwise left us alone to enjoy our holiday; much appreciated.

The decking and hot tub was lovely, the inclusion of garden games and draws full of various dvd’s and board games was very thoughtful. If you are looking for a get away from it all break we couldn’t recommend Valley View highly enough.

“Beautiful and scenic venue; the lodge was immaculate & comforting - felt at home very quickly.”

The facilities were great! - did not have to use much but still amazing if we wanted to cook in the lodge rather than go site-seeing/going out for food. Less than an hour drive from the shore i.e. visited Lynton/Lynmouth which was lovely. On the evening we drank in the hot tub which was amazing! - the views from the lodge are just so lovely and private. Will definitely be returning :) Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Bampton is a wonderfully peaceful Devon village situated in a wooded valley on the banks of the River Batherm, a tributary of the River Exe, close to the Exmoor National Park. Bampton offers lovely Georgian cottages and houses, a good range of shops and is famous for its floral displays, pony fair and folk festival. The towns of Dulverton and Tiverton are close by and offer plenty of amenities, plus there are many country pursuits on offer in this rural area, including fishing on the two reservoirs at Wimbleball and Clatworthy, Exmoor safaris through dramatic windswept moors, walking the Exe Valley Way, horseriding across the moor and cycling along the Lowman Way. Further afield is the beautiful North Devon coastline with stunning walks, small coves, sandy beaches and views across to Wales. Bampton provides an ideal base for exploring North Devon and the Exmoor National Park.
