“Lovely lodge with all the facilities available to make your stay enjoyable.”

A few ideas to make the most of the lodge better: A selection of DVDs would have been welcome in the cinema room. Fridge not big enough to self cater. Insufficient cutlery…. 4 of each item (knives, forks and spoons), not really user friendly. Overall it was an excellent stay and highly recommended

We have had multiple holidays at the Southern Halt site (and Stonerush Lakes) over the years; this was a very good experience. What a lovely lodge, and surprisingly in very good condition (it’s one of the original lodges)… NB. I would replace the crockery, and provide coasters for mugs/glasses. Easy fix. “This is a lovely property and site and just like the photos.”

The property has a great range of facilities and is comfortable to relax in. We were however disappointed that the feedback we have which goes against this property has all been raised by previous guests and not acted on despite the property management firm welcoming feedback. We really think that the broken flooring in the lounge (which nearly caused a nasty accident whilst we were holding our young baby) and exercise bike needing maintenance should have been resolved by now based on when this feedback has been raised previously. It was also really difficult to turn the temperature of the shower down. It is a lovely property though and made for an easy stay to explore this part of Cornwall.

“The score of 8/10 is for Sykes Holidays.”

They are a very good company but inspection of properties needs to be improved. 12 Meadow Retreat - The area and park are lovely, quiet and pretty. The lodge was well laid out and clean. However, basic needs were not met. The following need to be addressed - - filthy toilet brush - only 2 mismatched glasses for drinking - very uncomfortable sofa (cushions have lost support) - lack of side tables for drinks in lounge - legs on dining table loose (my husband had to tighten them but still wobbly) - not enough hangers for clothing - shower door does not seal properly - sheet on bed had dirty marks down the side - mattress not supportive on bed - pillow poor quality and not supportive - cinema room experience was not good due to sound bar not working because the connection lead between the sound bar and the TV was missing and no instructions for use of the system.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful place to stay , we had a such a great time the lodge was perfect off the scale clean , facilities were amazing just what we wanted a nice relaxing spar and fitness break the gym room is the cinema room we loved spent so much time in there in the evenings just overall a fantastic value and fantastic place to stay and unwind and relax while in luxury 10/10 definitely booking again

“Overall, we enjoyed our stay at 12 Meadow Retreat.”

We've been visiting Cornwall for many years and this was the first time we stayed in a lodge, but the site was very quiet, clean and well manicured. The lodge itself was amazing, with a hot tub, cinema room, gym and sauna. Only drawback were the limited consumables at the lodge (i.e., bin bags, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid), which we had to top up. Given the cost of the holiday rental, it would be helpful not to have to go out to buy more of these things.

“Absolutely fantastic lodge set in beautiful surroundings.”

Very private, spacious layout. Loved the jacuzzi bath & the cinema room & if you can be bothered it even has a gym. Fully fitted kitchen & large lounge area with adjoining private deck area. Will definitely return, highly recommended.

“Enjoyed our stay.”

The lodge was clean, comfortable and spacious. The views were great and found it to be a relaxing experience. The indoor jacuzzi was a bonus with the weather we had during our stay. Tracey gave us all the information we needed and also checked if everything was ok during our stay.

“Me and my partner recently stayed at 12 meadow retreat this past bank holiday weekend.”

This was our second time staying in the lodge. We always enjoy our stay, we’re able to relax completely and take advantage of the facilities! Especially the sauna and bath tub. My only complaints would be the water pressure in the shower is quite low and the bin the bathroom had still not been replaced (from what I’ve seen from the most recent review from previous renter). But overall is a lovely, romantic getaway and we would highly recommend to others.

“Stunning property, clean, nicely decorated.”

Some of the crockery could be updated as some had chips in them, but otherwise it contained all required for a comfortable stay. The property was easy to find and was on a relatively small site. The site map was slightly misleading as it indicated there was an area of woodland you could walk in however this seemed to be under construction/demolition during our stay which we did not know about prior to our stay, which meant we had to go off site to do anything and there were no paths to safely go offsite so you had to drive into the town. But the grounds themselves seem well kept.

“Absolutely loved the property, really nice and well kept.”

There were a few issues raised by previous guests such as the exercise bike not working properly and their being no side table in the living room which I would have thought should have been fixed but haven’t. This is disappointing as they really should be sorted having been already mentioned. Also the bathroom bin is broken and needs fixing. These are small issues but do impact the otherwise really nice high quality of the lodge. The bed is really comfortable and the cinema room is fantastic. We had a brilliant time and will definitely be back!

“My husband and I booked a last minute break down to Cornwall, we stayed at 12 Meadow Retreat in Dobwalls, the facilities were amazing, our own sauna, double jacuzzi bath and our own little gym, it definitely lived up to its standards.”

We had the park almost all to ourselves and what a beautiful park it is. The staff made sure to keep in touch, we had a call before we arrived to say they were looking forward to us staying with them and a call while we were staying with them to make sure everything was fine and there were no issues and there wasn't. I would highly recommend this park, we had an amazing stay and will most definitely be visiting again in the future.

“On the whole very clean and tidy and a nice place to stay.”

The cutlery/crockery is a little sparse, with a full size dishwasher you need to use almost everything to fill it including pans. The cinema room TV was not connected to the internet so although Prime and Netflix were offered you could only use them in the main living area. Generally good quality equipment and nice facilities.

The Lodge was immaculate and very well equipped. The only thing that we both missed was a couple of small tables at either end of the sofa for putting drinks on. Apart from that we couldn't fault it. We would definitely stay again.

“I chose to stay at iGym lodge (no 12) so I could use the fitness equipment during my stay but found that the exercise bike seat was too low at its max height.”

I’m 5ft 5ins tall and was unable to use it unless using it standing up which I tried once but it was very creaky and clearly needed some maintenance. There were also no batteries in the remote for the TV in the gym

“We were on a two week holiday and an extra set of towels and bedding would of been useful we had to wash towels and they hadn’t dried by the next day luckily we had brought some of our own to use.”

Some of the lighting on the site was not working the ones by the roadside near our lodge and opposite were not working at night so was very dark if you were to arrive back late and had forgotten to put your lodge outside lights on. These are just minor issues but equally important but we would definitely return again Thank you

About the location

DOBWALLS

Liskeard 2.6 miles; Looe 8.4 miles.

The rural village of Dobwalls is surrounded by open fields and wooded countryside, and is close to the market town of Liskeard, the slopes of Bodmin Moor and the glorious north and south Cornish coastlines. This is a perfect base for exploring the many delights the region has to offer, with the picturesque fishing harbours of Looe, Fowey and Polperro within 15 miles to the south whilst Padstow and the surfing beach at Polzeath lie a comfortable drive away on the North Coast. Take a trip to Siblyback Lake and enjoy the wonderful sailing, fishing and watersports on offer, or travel a little further and take advantage of the superb walking on Bodmin Moor. The Eden project lies within 15 miles and Plymouth is just a 30 minute drive, or 25 minute train ride from nearby Liskeard station. With the Barbican harbour district, renowned aquarium, and good selection of shops, restaurants and theatres, this is a great holiday base.
