2 Meadow Retreat

Absolutely fantastic place!

Would definitely love to come again! Had everything you could need. Excellent base for visiting cornwall!

We had an amazing 4 nights, everything that was described was 100% accurate and used to its 100% max l, we loved every minute of our stay could of moved in permanently that second we opened the door.

My only 2 cents is that the bed wasn't the most comfortable in my experience and the chairs in the cinema room dont look the prettiest but still did its job. We both agreed that we would be back again

Perfect in every way

No 2 Meadow Retreat, what a delightful getaway.

It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped. The bathroom was amazing, just like a spa. Looking at the advertised photo of No 2 it looked like you didn't have any neighbours, but you did. Saying that however it was extremely quiet and very peaceful. We would highly recommend No 2 Meadow Retreat and look forward to coming again.

Beautiful setting, pictures don’t do the location and accommodation justice, We had a lovely relaxing week and the weather was lovely as well, would highly recommend if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Our only comment would be that you need a blind in the skylight for night time and a blind on the front door.

The facilities were incredible. We would highly recommend staying here. The site itself was very peaceful, and made for a very relaxing weekend.

Enjoyed our stay at this property no complaints unit was clean and tidy,couple of small issues tin opener needs replacing,also the jacuzzi bath seemed to turn it self back on after being switched off?

Fortunately unit still had water in when this occurred.traffic noise from near by rd noisy in early morning , we kept bedroom windows shut to dampen this down,in warmer months this may have been problem,however didn’t spoil our stay.

Lovely lodge, spacious, exceptionally clean, site quiet and well kept, sited not on top of one another which is a bonus Could do with a couple of cereal bowls, had to go to the Charity shop to purchase some.

We loved the jacuzzi bath and the cinema room. A wonderful break away for our anniversary. Reception office at Charteroak extremely helpful as well. Highly recommended and hope to return one day.

Beautiful lodge in a quiet park.

The lodge is well equipped with everything you need. Fantastic location to explore Cornwall. We are already looking at returning to this lodge later on in the year. Skye’s holiday cottages kept in touch with us to make sure we had everything we needed. 3 little niggles Screw sticking out at side of jacuzzi, scratched my leg. Toilet door handle very loose. Laminate floor in kitchen loose moves around slipped a couple of times. These things did not in anyway spoil my holiday and I will definitely be back. Would highly recommend.

This is our second visit to MR2 and it's just as amazing as our first.

From the jacuzzi bath, sauna and cinema room. To the open plan living room and kitchen and very comfortable bedroom. The only issues we had this time was the cleaning. The sauna had dried faeces on the bench, and hair on the floor. Because we arrived around 8pm, it didn't make much sense to call and complain to get someone out to clean it. We wanted to use it straight away as myself and my wife had a long drive to get there. So we cleaned it ourselves. Not something you expect to be doing on a weekend away. There's still no net curtain or blind at the front door, as the glass is big and clear for people to look in. The sky lights could do with a clean. But otherwise the lodge is perfect and we will be definitely staying again.

Lodge was spot on could not fault it can all everything was on point only 1 thing that let us down was jacuzzi bath after use left like lime scale was gutted and cinema room was my point off lodge

Return visit in a different lodge, this one was nearer the road so we heard weekday traffic from quite early, lodge was clean, bed comfy, plenty of towels provided and gowns for use in the spa area, there were a few issues which were raised with Charteroak who were very helpful as usual - black bits coming out of jets in Jacuzzi bath, kitchen light worked when it felt like it - the frying pan stuck and needs replacing and the potato masher was broken -we expect to find certain things as the lodges are used and didnt bother us too much - site is very quiet and even with work being carried out on a couple of new lodges onsite which we were informed about it did not disturb us.

The sofa for me personally is quite low and i struggled to get up from it so a armchair would be useful but its still a lovely relaxing break as you have everything you need the cinema room, sauna & bath make the lodges very appealing.There is a tea towel and box with washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs bin bag tea & coffee to get you started which is very useful if you forget to bring your own, there was also milk left in the fridge which was dated the previous day but unopened so at least you can get a cuppa. We will return again but probably to a lodge further away from the road.

Best experience we have had on holiday.

So peaceful around the area, parking was great right outside the accommodation and easy to park. Our lodge was clean, very well furnished. We were comfortable, did not have to go far from the site as we enjoyed the use of the hot tub, cinema room & sauna room. We felt so relaxed and have come back home really missing being away. We cannot wait to come back!

Lovely property in a great setting.

Easy walk to shop and pub, good connections to all main routes. Had a great time relaxing in the sauna, spa bath and cinema room. A little bit of luxury.

The lodge was extremely clean and with many comforts from a sauna, jacuzzi and a cinema room. The complex was quiet and relaxing and was covered by a great customer service who contacted us just prior to the stay, during the stay and also after the stay to ensure we had an enjoyable and hassle free time. There was a nice welcome pack and clear instructions regarding the site. I have already recommended this lodge to my friends and I will be making a booking for next year. In a word 'Fantastic'.

We loved the cabin, the bath,cinema room and sauna made this by far our best stay in Cornwall.

We will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone.

I have to say that Tracey on reception was very helpful and also arranged for a complimentary bottle of prosecco to be left for my wife's birthday, a really nice touch.

The lodge was very well equipped with all you would need. There was a pint of milk in the fridge, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and even a dish cloth and sponge. The only down side was the velux window in the bathroom/bedroom, this needs a blind as you are woken a 4am by bright light. Other than that we had a lovely stay at the site which is well maintained and very quiet.

All facilities within the Building was perfect.

The accommodation was exceptional from kitchen to the sauna, with hidden extras supplied. The perfect place to relax for a week.

Had a wonderful stay, everything needed was provided and the bed was super comfy.

Thoroughly enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi bath. Like a few others the only suggestion we would make is that a blind is fitted to the skylight in the bedroom and also to the front door. We will return as we loved it.

Place is very nice and wouldn't take much to perfect the experience.

As per previous comments, the entrance door needs a privacy curtain. There's a lot of tech (speaker system, TVs, cooker, under floor heating) without any guides and not everyone has a streaming account for films so a blue-ray/DVD is useful (although the maintenance people managed to source one). The spa bath and sauna were brilliant but remember to turn off the spa via the fuse switch in the bedroom cupboard or it will wake you up in the middle of the night as it performs its auto-clean ! Again, as per previous comment, the kitchen is a bit light on decent utensils. Overall, we thought the place was great with easy access to the Moors/coast.

Only real criticism is that the skylight in the bathroom could do with a blind and the front door could do with one too.

The lodge itself was brilliant!

The furniture and fittings were great and the bathroom was definitely the centrepiece!! We did have a few minor issues/ things that could be improved however. Firstly, we arrived to the lodge during the evening when it was dark and there isn’t really much towards lighting and indication to which lodge is which. The plaque saying MR2 wasn’t in a great place to be able to see when you are in the car in the dark. Maybe place lodge names on a small wooden post next to the allocated parking space? We also had a small issue the the spar bath in the bathroom as it kept turning itself on every 20 - 30 mins so I had to turn it off at the fuse box when we weren’t using it. The kitchen was a tad lacking in utensils, such as oven trays. There was only flat oven trays and round glass dishes. Could do with some deeper oven trays for example. Knives can all do with a sharpen and maybe a pint glass or two? Considering how there isn’t a great deal locally we found ourselves cooking most nights and not going out. We are people that like to cook and Im sure that will be a case for a lot of people staying there. So improving utensils in the kitchen definitely wouldn’t go a miss! And finally, the bed was comfortable. However it was advertised and a “king size” but it was 2 single bed mattresses put together. Not even a thick mattress topper so we have this big crack in the bed down the middle. On my side of the bed I felt like the centre of the bed was a little higher than the outside of the bed (almost like sleeping on a slight upslope). Im guessing it’s because of the two single mattresses. All this aside… it was a brilliant lodge and we had a great holiday! It definitely made the holiday and didn’t break it! Would recommend to others! And the price was very reasonable! Thankyou for a great holiday!

Beautiful lodge with everything we needed. Would 100% recommend to friends and family. Felt like we hit the jackpot with that holiday.

Fantastic lodge, amazing holiday

What an amazing lodge in a fantastic central location.

The lodge was clean and tidy and contained everything you would need from a holiday. Quiet location and perfectly located. Very relaxing and we are looking to re-book the same lodge in 2023.

This was our first time staying at Meadow Retreat, Dobwalls whilst the site was clean and tidy it lacked privacy around the lodges.

There was no lighting around the ponds at night. We prefer the lodges at Lanreath. The lodge itself was nice but the front door needed a blind or frosted glass as anyone could see in.
