5 Faraway Fields

We had the most amazing stay at 5 Faraway Fields.

Sally and the team welcomed us immediately and were on hand if needed. We had a call to say we could check in earlier which was lovely. Our little lodge was secluded and so peaceful. Cinema room and sauna were an added bonus. Loved it! The welcome pack and milk was appreciated. We have only one recommendation: we needed more towels as one large one and one small one isn’t enough for a 4 day stay. Two large towels per person would be appreciated

On the whole a very nice comfortable lodge.

One or two small things need a little attention. When we arrived there was no hot water as the pressure in the combi boiler had dropped too low. This was fixed very quickly the following morning after a phone call to the site management team. The vent in the bathroom/shower room was clogged with dust and had to be cleaned. The venetian blind in the sauna/jacuzzi room could do with replacing as it has been roughly cut around the handle of the sliding door and looks a little tatty. One of the jet covers on the jacuzzi blew out when the bubbles were turned on. One of the wardrobe doors does not slide correctly.

We loved the lodge and had a fantastic holiday.

In our 50's we now know we need a Cinema Room, Sauna and large Jacuzzi Bath! Very peaceful and lovely setting and we enjoyed listening to the many birds and looking at the stars. Can highly recommend and will book again. Thanks too to Sally for great customer service and for being friendly, warm and very helpful, much appreciated. We love this part of Cornwall and had an amazing stay. Thank you x

Overall lovely experience but we encountered some issues with this lodge. 1. The jacuzzi bath requires some maintenance as when the jets are active, the jets were very lose and the chrome fittings were damaged. 2. The floor through the lodge requires attention. ( chipped/ cracked etc) 3. Where the bed meats in the middle - this is very uncomfortable and lumpy. 4. One of the recliner chairs has lost its shape. 5. General cleanliness very poor , for example the bath was scummy and needed cleaning before use. The microwave was dirty. All the blinds were dusty. And cobwebs in the cinema and ceilings. We have taken photos of some of these issues if these are required to back up what we have said. This is our second stay at this site , and loved our first stay and lodge . We however were disappointed with the cleanliness and the points above - as this was an expensive holiday break for us.

When me and my partner stayed here a few weeks ago.

We were disappointed with the lack of privacy from other lodges. During the booking process um..the photos of 5 Faraway Fields looked like it was more private than it actually was when we got there. Also there was a unpleasant smell in the walk-in wardrobe connected to the bedroom. Regardless of that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Had a fantastic trip.

The property was amazing and we really appreciated the items provided such as milk and tea bags. These small gestures were a very nice touch. Will definitely be considering a future booking

The lodge was amazing!

! Really enjoyed the stay and all the facilities that it had to offer. Would definitely recommend only thing I could say is the remote for the speaker in the living room didn’t work other than can’t fault the place!

Wasn’t expecting too much when we booked this place but when we got there it was more than enough, absolutely loved our stay there, there was plenty to do around it for the days we were there, and the staff at the caravan park were absolutely lovely and so helpful.

The property alone was amazing and that movie room was even better, absolutely loved this stay and would definitely be returning in the future

We had a wonderful stay and certainly found everything very relaxing from the start to the end.

Loved the sauna and made good use of the cinema room! Really can’t fault it and the weather was on our side too - we just got our break in before all the snow! Even had breakfast outside it was so sunny x

Well maintained property, clean and very heart warming staff at the charter oaks reception. Would definitely come again very soon

The property was in fabulous condition and in a great location, however our visit was made less relaxing when we found that the property had mice, that was clearly see with the droppings and there attempt to get into the bin under the sink space.

This finding meant that we were unable to have a completely relaxed time as we had hoped. We did however leave a message on the sites phone line and did not hear back from the site team until we took the time to find a member of staff on the Sunday. Upon or departure i did speak with the front desk an informed that i would receive a call from a Site manager, however we are now a further 3 days from departure and have not received any calls to resolve the situation we had to deal with. Overall a nice property, but the customer service is lacking.

This was our second stay in 5 Faraway Fields and our third overall Charteroak stay in Cornwall.

We were impressed by the excellent state of preparation of the property and the household team should be congratulated on its clean and tidy appearance. We had one minor maintenance problem which was rapidly rectified for us. We can thoroughly recommend this property and the service of both Sykes and the owners. In spite of increasing age-related mobility problems we hope to be back!

5 faraway fields was an amazing lodge it was absolutely spotless and had everything you would need for your stay.

The grounds around the site are kept beautiful. We had two ducks visit us one morning and watched the rabbits running around in the evening. Will definitely be returning

Cabin was clean and tidy, lots of facilities which had clear instructions and easy to use.

Staff were so kind and welcoming. They were easy to talk to if u have any questions or just need help on where to go for dinner.

A lovely stay, the accommodation was excellent and the sauna and jacuzzi was great!

The bed was so comfortable and the cleanliness was excellent. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

What a beautiful place, very clean and tidy, beautiful relaxing spa room that we made great use from!

The cinema room was a very nice go to place to sit and relax to watch a great movie. me and my partner had a great stay and fell in love with the place. Thank you :)

We had a lovely stay and Tracey was friendly and very helpful.

My only suggestion for improvement would be to change the blinds in the spa area as they are slightly damaged, provide proper instructions for the jacuzzi and advise where to put the rubbish at the end of stay (we took ours home with us) . Replace the outdoor decking furniture as rusting. Having said that we would happily stay in the same lodge again as and the site was lovely.

Lovely place to stay.

Very comfy bed, sauna was great. Cleanliness was good apart from alot of cobwebs up above. The blinds need a good dust too.

We had a lovely time staying here.

It was a lovely lodge, we enjoyed using the tub and the sauna. The cinema room was awesome and we loved watching movies in there. Would highly recommend to our friends and family.

The facilities were amazing, clean and warm. Very comfy, cosy and relaxing. Would certainly recommend staying here if you want to get away from this stressful world we live in. Top marks all round.

A perfect weekend away!

A beautiful lodge, had everything we needed, comfort, spacious, well equipped for a great 3 night stay. Good location not too far to travel to Eden project and beaches. Would definitely recommend.

Very clean and organised and had everything you could possibly need there was even fresh milk in the fridge on arrival and a box containing t bags, biscuits a black bin bag and even a small tube of washing up liquid which was useful as we forgot to take some!

Kitchen area is big and light and they also leave bird seed for you to put out which is a nice touch. The facilities are clean and all work we did not use the cinema room in the end but the jacuzzi and sauna were excellent- you can even watch tv while in the jacuzzi but it’s hard to hear the tv when the jets are on but who cares! Only downside was the sofa was too low for me personally as I have a bad hip and struggled to get up from it. We were very impressed with the lodge but it does show signs of use for example the sofa had a couple of marks on it and so did the bedroom carpet and the lounger mat was water stained. There is cracking on the ceiling in the bedroom and cracking where the screws have come through the plasterboard but did not detract from our stay however for the price paid some tlc should be a consideration. All in all thoughtfully planned out and to a high spec and we would stay again.

The perfect romantic lodge for a relaxing break.

With the cinema and spa rooms a rainy day is never dull. We returned home relaxed, refreshed and planning to return.

It was a lovely break thank you, an enjoyable two weeks.

Very comfortable. Have read earlier reviews regarding the bed, pillows and cinema chairs but we disagree…..everything was good thank you, maybe they have been replaced. Very comfortable indeed, as was the sofa. The only thing I didn’t find comfortable was sitting at the table as the chairs were modern and high . We would have preferred a standard dining chair. Had it been summer we would have eaten at the outside table …. It was lovely having Wrendale crockery. All very new and spotlessly clean. All appliances worked well with the exception of the tv above the jacuzzi bath. This was reported on our first day and we were told that a part would need to be ordered to make it work, that it would be ordered on the Monday and it would take a few days. We chased it up three times but no part arrived and it didn’t work for the duration of our break. No one got back to us so we gave up. This was annoying , especially as if it didn’t work for us it can’t have worked for the previous occupants. On reading reviews it is apparent the tv in the jacuzzi area hasn’t worked properly for some months so I’m at a loss to know why we were basically fobbed off in this regard. Obviously we have stayed on the site previously ie pre Covid when things were newer. I expect there is some sort of ongoing maintenance on this property, and I think the next thing which could improve this property would be to replace the kettle as this looked shabby, especially next to the beautiful crockery which looked almost new. I appreciate it gets a lot of use but I don’t expect a kettle to look quite like ours did. Someone had in the past attempted to open the door near the bath without first opening the blind and this is damaged which looks a bit unsightly but people should be more careful and given the expense of repair I understand why this was left as it was. Please understand this is constructive criticism, not a complaint. It’s just that we had stayed in the lodge nearby previously and that was immaculate. Having said that , it was pre Covid and a lot of visitors will have been in both since , so maybe the newness has worn off there too. With staying two weeks we had to ring to find out what arrangements would be made to freshen laundry and the towels. Clean laundry was supplied at the end of week one and we changed our bed and put the used laundry outside for collection. It would have been better had we not had to arrange for this ourselves. Indeed I phoned before we set off for our holiday about this and no one got back to us. It shouldn’t really have been us requesting/ chasing. It should be something we are told will happen on whatever date. We stayed in the lodge quite a lot as we just wanted a rest rather than a holiday and it was good to be familiar with our surroundings and know where local shops etc were. The fridge , freezer, cooker were all adequate, it was nice having a wine chiller which gave us more room in the fridge . We had plenty of cooking utensils and equipment including a microwave , dishwasher and washing machine so it was very home from home. The owners were very generous in leaving films to watch in the cinema as well as a few books. Wrendale playing cards too ! We buy Wrendale for family and friends as we live not far from the person who designs it. What a small world ! The sauna was well used by us and despite earlier reviews, we found it spotlessly clean. A very relaxing break thank you but I hope that our comments and feedback are used to remedy the issues raised for the benefit of future clients.

Was a surprise booking from my partner and I couldn't of been more pleased!

The most beautiful apartment, lovely scenery. 30 minutes away from a beautiful sandy beach and 10 mins away from and adventure park where we were able to indulge in a few of the activities and had the time of our lives! The couple who looked after our lodge too were absolutely incredible too and we will definitely be back there!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 5 Faraway Fields.

The trip was a break for our 20th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have found a better property for a relaxing break away from the normal stresses of life. The spa room was absolutely lovely and the only thing that wasn't quite right was the TV in the bath which had poor reception for some reason. The kitchen was extremely well equipped so we felt no need to venture out for food as it was actually easier to make food at the lodge. We would have appreciated some better instructions on how the heating worked but as tech-minded people, we figured it out as the weather did turn a little chilly one night. The bedroom was designed beautifully but I felt the pillows were a bit old and could definitely do with replacing as two of them smelt a little stale. The bed was reasonably comfortable but obviously, a mattress is a personal choice. I do think the listing for this property should mention that it has a rather good hairdryer as I bought my own along and really didn't need too The cinema room was amazing. As we stayed over the Platinum Jubilee it was great to watch the coverage on this as well as stream movies. My husband and I had a thoroughly relaxing time and would love to return to this or another property in this lovely, quiet, and super luxurious holiday lodge development. The only thing we couldn't get was fantastic weather to enjoy the beautiful secluded garden around the lodge!

Great location at the end of the pothole filled road means it’s nice and peaceful.

Lovely lodge with great facilities such as the spa bath and cinema room. Loved the sofa it just cuddles you in, the shower was amazing too! Have recommended the lodge to friends and family. Our only minor criticisms were the pillows were quite flat and felt well used. I understand everyone likes a different type of pillow but by having different options available it should suit everyone. The double bed was made up of two singles pushed together meaning if you roll over in the night you can land in the gap which is not particularly comfortable, having a double/king size mattress would have been best in my opinion along with a soft headboard. We 10/10 stay again!
