Dove Lodge

On arrival at the Lodge,we were immediately concerned that it didn't have an enclosed garden, as stated in your descripion of the property.

Therefore our dog was not allowed to run free as we had hoped. Also we were suprised to find the bedside light was unusable due to a fault. On arrival lighter note the location and was superb.

Tracey was lovely she left a few colouring gifts for my grandson which was very sweet.

We had an absolutely amazing time, everyone was so friendly and the areas for dog walking within the lodge area was fantastic that we didn't find ourselves leaving the lodge and surrounding area very often.

We will definitely be visiting again :)

We enjoyed our break and the areas around where beautiful,but the shame was that the lodge itself was unloved,the limescale watermarks on the shower cubicle and amass of smears on the bathroom mirror.

Cooking untenails and pans had bits of food on them.The bedroom carpet was dirty and flooring in the sitting room was grubby.The outdoor furniture was filthy and needed a good scrub.The door was poor fitting and we had to get the host to help.On the plus side the hosts were lovely and the bed was comfortable,it was very quiet there with the exception of a festival going on the night we arrived,which wasn’t too much of an issue but we would of appreciated a heads up.

Tracey and Nick were extremely helpful during our stay.

It was extremely hot when we arrived but they managed to find a fan for us

Tracy and Nick were very welcoming and friendly. Dove lodge was very clean ,all the utensils you would need. The bed was very comfortable. The lodge and all the surrounding areas where spotless. Fishing was first rate. I loved the peace and quiet felt so relaxed will definitely be booking again .

This was the second year we have stayed at this property.

It is exactly as described, spotless and has all required equipment . The owners are helpful but not invasive. The fishing is excellent. We will certainly be booking Dove Lodge again.

The surrounding area was superb, and so peaceful. The fishing was heaven. Both my husband and I were delighted by the weekend we had, and the owners were so helpful and friendly. We have booked further weekends there and will continue to do so. Thank you both for a wonderful break and a weekend to remember.

My main reason for this booking was a fishing holiday for my wife and I.

The lakes are superbly maintained and the fish quality is superb. There are numerous lakes to choose from but we mainly fished the same 3. Next time we go, as we defiantly will be, I will take a small fishing trolley as there is a small walk to the different lakes and as a carp fisher-person I can never decide what to leave behind. The accommodation Dove lodge was lovely spotlessly clean and for my wife and I was more than adequate in every way we needed. The grounds are spotless and well maintained again. The owners are very friendly and helpful and as I said earlier my wife and I will be returning again.

found it difficult to find dove lodge as it was numbered not named as i was lead to believe.

after finding it everything else was as discribed it was very comfortable ,brilliant shower and bedroom, Daisey my dog and i enjoyed the walks around the lakes,very quiet location just what i needed,we both enjoyed our stay there. thank you would come back.

We had the loveliest stay, the property was lovely and we loved where it was situated, the lakes were a lovely bit of scenery.

Lush accommodation quite peaceful every thing for pre Christmas break before all the madness starts x defo go again perfect and the snow was the best made the lodge even more cosy

Everything was perfect.

It was well equipped and in a lovely quiet location. We couldn't fault anything. We would love to come back in the summer.

Dove lodge was just as described.

Clean and fully equipped with everything you need. The decking was safe for our dog as it had a gate and the walks. nearby were lovely . The surrounding area is beautiful and quiet and the lakes are very well looked after. My husband enjoyed fishing in the lakes and caught many healthy fish. We would recommend Dove Lodge for a good base to explore North Devon.

Had a lovely stay at Dove Lodge it was spotlessly clean and was fitted out with everything you would need for a comfortable stay .

The lakes were beautifully kept and managed and the fishing was enjoyable . Nick and Tracey our hosts were very welcoming and friendly . The lack of WI-FI was not a huge issue for us but would have been nice on some of the rainy days . It was also very dog friendly with lovely walks around the lakes and wood . Would definitely like a return visit .

Excellent lodge and fishing lakes, Very clean and everything you could need for a relaxing holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay. The whole site was maintained to a very high level and the owners were very friendly and helpful.

Very clean and tidy, comfortable furniture and bed.

Ample room for two and well equipped. Hosts were convivial and helpful.

We had a lovely holiday, Dove Lodge was everything we hoped for, so peaceful.

There are just a couple of very minor issues with the property description: It has a king sized bed listed, however we believe it to be a standard double bed, this wasn't an issue for us but may be to others. It also has an "enclosed lawn area" listed, the lawn isn't enclosed, again not a problem for us. We will definitely consider Dove Lodge again, thanks for a lovely holiday.

Exactly what we were looking for peace & quiet great fishing + lovely countryside.

Nick & his wife were extremely friendly & very professional. The lakes were in superb condition you could tell it was more of a passion for Nick as well as a job it makes all the difference. We would highly recommend Dove Lodge to anyone.

Lodge was clean and comfortable with plenty of storage.

Kitchen was very well equipped. Really safe veranda for our dog. Useful shed for fishing equipment. Everyone were really friendly

A lovely vacation lodge as described.

We did feel the seating for dining and the sofa and armchair were a little "student type accommodation." Great positives are the quietness and the secure deck with gated entrances. Kitchen and Bathroom are super and well stocked with all one needs. Bedroom is a 5ft bed with great nightstands and cavernous built in closet! Lodge is not clearly marked so we had to go to the office to get directions. Service was clear and concise and not intrusive so that is a positive for us. Cell phone signal was clear. Data was mediocre on 4G and more stable on 3G. Used a smartphone to create a wi-fi signal in the lodge for our laptop etc.

Totally relaxing holiday with the dog.

Well equipped lodge, very comfortable and clean, excellent shower!. Peaceful setting & spent a lot of time outside on the decking (gated so safe for the dog), birdwatching & amazing stargazing as no light pollution. Nice walks around the lakes & not far from the main road for days out at the beach, tarka trail & nature reserves.

What an absolute gem.

We were greeted by Tracey who was very welcoming and friendly. The lodge was stunning, we actually stayed in a 2 bed lodge which was so beautifully furnished. Everything in the lodge for a perfect home from home stay. The fishing lakes were stocked with plentyful fish. My husband actually had the best week ever and caught fish every day. We were so lucky as the weather was glourious for the whole week. We cannot wait to return again Thank you Tracey for making us feel very welcome!!

Everything I needed for a little break, so warm and comfy.

I went for fishing which is very close to lodge. Wildlife all around and so quiet you could hear a pin drop, Owners are friendly. Recommend a holiday for anyone. Ali

A beautifully furnished, comfortable, well equipped property in a peaceful setting.

It was the perfect base for our few days away visiting my family. Thank you.

Dove Lodge provided a very comfortable stay and was very well equipped with everything you might need for a great self-catering holiday.

The location is very remote and peaceful and, at the same time, provides a good base to travel around Devon and into Cornwall/ Somerset. The Legge Farm site is nicely laid out and the lakes are within a stone's throw from the accommodation. The lakes are well stocked with mixed coarse fish with plenty to keep the rod bending and plenty of wildlife to enjoy including the glorious blue flash of Kingfisher across the water. The facilities on site are very good including the lake toilet, which has to be the smartest fishing loo I have every encountered in all my years of angling! I was also impressed with the bin store and its particular attention to recycling.

We wanted a quiet relaxing week and that is exactly what we got.

The lodge was lovely and had everything you would need. It was great to sit on the decking or open the bedroom window and blinds and lay in bed with the sun shining on you , with the only noise being birdsong or the odd sheep. The Lakes are definitely worth a walk around even if your not a fisherman.If you want a great pub then The Bull and Dragon at meeth is definitely worth a visit. A proper pub , great landlord and food with a log fire. If in the area again we would definitely return.
