Sheepwash 2.7 miles. A group of detached, holiday lodges on a 28-acre fishing farm near Sheepwash, providing fabulous getaways for keen fishermen or wildlife lovers. These rural retreats back onto a small, friendly caravan site, providing a sociable holiday atmosphere. The lodges are open plan and have small, private outdoor seating areas as well as the freedom to wander this beautiful site with wildflower meadows, woodland walks and five sizeable fishing lakes, well stocked with Common, Mirror Ghost and Grass Carp, Roach, Rudd, Bream, Tench and Perch. There is also a wildlife lake where visitors can marvel at the colourful dragonflies, interesting birds and ducks. All guests and day visitors to this farm are provided with a warm welcome by the owners and all the animals; there is always help and advice on hand. It is just a short drive into the nearby friendly village of Sheepwash where you can stock up in the shop or meet the locals for a glass of local brew in the quintessential pub. This part of rural Devon is known as Ruby Country and has some spectacular trails for walking or cycling. Further afield, the stunning North Devon coastline is rich in beaches, so guests at these lovely lodges will have a huge choice of surfing, swimming and rock pool beaches to choose from. Whether you decide to stay on site and relax, or if you’d rather venture out and discover the nearby area, you will be sure to enjoy your stay in this wonderful area.

Sheepwash village is set in the peaceful Torridge Valley in Devon. The village offers a shop and a friendly traditional pub set in the village square, serving good food and locally brewed ales. Sheepwash is ideal for walkers and country lovers, being located in the heart of Ruby Trail Country and within easy reach of the Tarka Trail or the coast. Stroll along the River Torridge where you are more than likely to spot an otter family and maybe a Kingfisher or two. There are many places of interest in the surrounding area, including the coastal towns of Bude, Clovelly, Bideford and Westward Ho!, where you will find traditional seaside activities, surfing and the South West coastal footpath. Dartmoor is within 20 minutes’ drive, as is the RHS Rosemoor at Great Torrington and several National Trust properties, and a good variety of visitor attractions, ideal for families or couples, such as the Big Sheep at Bideford, Trethorne Leisure Farm at Launceston, the Miniature Pony Centre at Moretonhampstead, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are all within reach.
