Description

Lifton 5.6 miles.

Resting in a prime position, approximately 100 yards away from Roadford Lake in Broadwoodwidger near Lifton, Devon, is Meadow Lodge, a stylish, three-bedroom lodge.

Enjoying an open-plan, vaulted living space, with state-of-the-art appliances and chic furnishings, along with a private patio with an indulgent hot tub, Meadow Lodge makes the ideal base for a family of six looking for a touch of luxury.

Benefit from two off-road parking spaces, with further parking and an EV charging point on site, before heading to your new abode, taking in its woodland setting.

Step indoors to be welcomed into the open-plan living space, with its vaulted ceiling, plush sofas, a log effect fire, a Smart TV, dining for six, and a fully-equipped, sleek kitchen, complete with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, Range cooker, fridge, freezer, coffee machine and a wine chiller.

Prepare meals and dine indoors, or on warmer days, head outside for a barbecue, before climbing into the babbling hot tub for the evening.

When sleep calls, select between three well-appointed bedrooms, including a master king-size with an en-suite shower room, and two lovely twin bedrooms, serviced by a family bathroom.

Come morning, start your day by embarking on a tranquil walk or a bike ride along the lakeside, with trails starting just a short stroll from your lodgings, before heading down to Roadford Lake; a spectacular, 700-acre reservoir with a surrounding nature reserve, where you can grab a bite to eat at the café or take to the water for a day of sailing, paddleboarding, windsurfing or kayaking, with hired equipment and fishing permits available for visitors.

Lifton is a short journey by car, home to the award-winning Strawberry Fields Farm Shop, comprising a butchers, a bakery and a greengrocer, as well as an excellent on-site restaurant.

Launceston is a 12 minute drive away by car, where the dominating silhouette of Launceston Castle sits proudly, allowing visitors to enjoy stunning views over Devon and Cornwall atop the keep, whilst the narrow streets brimming with independent shops and bookstores, and the popular steam railway attraction offer something for everyone as well as the supermarkets and outlets on the outskirts.

Well-positioned to explore the wild delights of the Dartmoor National Park, enjoy hiking across Lydford Gorge, visit Lydford Gorge Alpacas for a family-friendly activity, or grab your walking boots and traverse across the rural landscape of Black-a-Tor Copse National Nature Reserve.

For a day spent at the spectacular North Devon coast, which is just 20 miles away from the property, be sure to visit unspoilt Widemouth Bay, where dogs are permitted all year round, whilst Bude offers stunning turquoise waters at Summerleaze Beach and the Bude Sea Pool, as well as the recommended viewpoint of Compass Point, before returning home in time for sundowners.

Enjoy a real, countryside experience all-year-round by booking a stay at Meadow Lodge.

Lovely lodge very clean and comfortable.

Not mucb to do in the area so need to be prepared to drive out. One comment i would like to raise is the instructions for the hot tub said to keep it clean , however the patio was dirty and needed weeding i think attention to detail was missed here. Also a note in the master bedroom where the 2 plugs in wardrobe are plugged in saying do not remove otherwise you will lose your internet, as we discovered. A welcome basket would have been nice on arrival given the price we paid for 4 nights!! Overall a nice stay , area not for us.

En suite shower room always cold and fan a waste of time place got wet with condensation making the floor slippery.

Towel rail only on with heating so towels never dried in there. No tv in rooms fine for us but not kids. Hot tub not hot enough doesn’t stay warm, cold on first night. Bedroom bulbs way too bright. Nothing on site didn’t see anyone so can’t comment on that. Other than that nice stay
