Hazelwood 2 @ Pinewood Retreat

Hazelwood 2 is an exceptional property.

It’s beautifully presented and spotlessly clean.The lodge is very comfortably furnished with comfy beds and the two bathrooms one with a walk in shower we’re really appreciated.In the icy cold weather the central heating system kept us very warm! This lodge comes highly recommended and we’d love to return! The heated indoor swimming pool was a happy bonus too.The location is good for access to the coastal resorts and interesting places in the local countryside especially The Seaton Tramway.

Not cleaned properly dirty toaster hoover head full of hair doors on cupboards would not shut properly outside kitchen window full of cobwebs small bedroom window outside full of cobwebs light holders in both bathrooms had dead flys in them patio doors would not shut properly seating area outside full of cobwebs no bin in on suite bathroom and smell from septic tank out side bedroom window terrible we have been coming to this site for over 19 years and it’s the worst two weeks we have spent they ever when it was run by the owners workers we never had any problems these new places that have been put on site are not good.

On entrance to pinewood the site is very well maintained lovely grounds and facilities including the swimming that was beautifully clean .

The lodge was clean other than some cobwebs around the windows and the windows could have done with a clean . We enjoyed our stay but speaking to other guests that had welcome packs we unfortunately didn’t get any upon our arrival . It’s the little touches that makes a holiday !! We will be coming back .

The operating instructions were poor.

There seemed to be no way of controlling the room temperature on a chilly night. It was not possible to have a hot bath. The hot bath tap produced luke warm water only. These characteristics should be made clear in the advertising details. Other hot water taps performed properly.

Wi-Fi was very patchy, we could hardly use the internet, which made planning days out frustrating.

Outdoors pool too cold to swim in - is it covered at night? Wasps everywhere, so we had to keep the doors and windows closed and couldn’t eat outside on our patio. Extractor fan and light above stove was broken / didn’t work. The big plates don’t fit in the dishwasher / the arm inside can’t turn when they are in there so we washed them by hand. Not really enough crockery and cutlery provided, the dishwasher was only half full before we ran out. Nowhere to put anything down in the bathroom not even a wash bag. Quite a bit of dust on windowsills, skirting boards and cobwebs in the corners of the property. Re the above issues, we paid quite a bit for the week: £1600 so a bit disappointing and would probably stop us from rebooking.

We had a lovely weekend, thank you.

Particularly enjoyed a meal at The Harbour Inn Lyme Regis, we would highly recommend it.

We had a very relaxing and peaceful long weekend, the lodge was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed.

We had a lovely stay, the cabin was great and had everything we needed.

It is a perfect place for exploring the local area.

We really enjoyed our stay.

We particularly enjoyed visiting the ammonite pavement at low tide, climbing Golden cap, the fireworks and swimming pool. The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped.

The lodge is very comfortable and we found the welcome pack a generous touch.

We found places like the white heart inn, the Hideaway and Frydays to be nice places to eat with the addition of Lyme Regis Kebab and Pizza for an easy takeaway meal. The pools were a much loved loved addition, even though the outside one was icy cold! Overall the location and lodge were more than satisfactory.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the lodge: clean and spacious with everything we needed!

The pools were both amazing, you cant beat a cold dip on a hot summers day. The only disappointment of the weekend was that despite searching Lyme Regis and Charmouth beaches we did not find a fossil!! Many thanks for the welcome pack; it was much appreciated!!!!

Lovely clean lodge, very comfortable - welcome pack was a nice gesture, we liked using the telescope to look at the moon!

Enjoyed our trips to Lyme Regis beach & Weymouth. Found lots of seaglass and a tiny fossil which impressed our son. Thank you!

Superb location and very peaceful site. Loved the swimming pool. We would recommend Roma in Sidmouth for an enjoyable Italian meal. Lodge is a home from home, very clean and comfortable.

Welcome pack was outstanding. Great outdoor space, pool was a bonus in this hot weather. Great location to many attractions in this beautiful part of the country. Will come again!

We have had a lovely restful few days.

The lodge was lovely and we particularly enjoyed using the pool. Would recommend Lyme Regis sandy beach and use the beach front parking to avoid a steep uphill walk to the car park.

We've had a wonderful stay.

Lodge is spacious and well equipped. The beds are comfortable and so a good nights sleep was had by all. The pool is great to have, Lyme Regis was the perfect English seaside fishing village now holiday destination.
