Lodge 11

Lodge 11 is gorgeous and fitted out perfectly, all the comforts one needs for a lovely stay and the views are breathtaking.

I totally fell in love with this lodge and the wonderful view of the moors. Even the stars at nightime are amazing. Hopefully we will return to ‘Moorview Lodge’ next year. Karen

We stayed at Lodge 11 for a week over the summer holidays and had a wonderful time.

The lodge is in an ideal location, just a short distance from Tavistock, several National Trust sites, and Dartmoor National Park. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We’re hoping to return again in the near future.

A lovely clean and comfortable lodge with everything you need in a peaceful location and lovely area, would definitely recommend.

Excellent accommodation and location and great value for money.

Only minor criticisms the washing up bowl needs replacing and the small coffee table was unstable. Did leave a note in the kitchen to that affect. Will certainly use the accommodation again if available.

We were very comfortable at Lodge 11.

It was spotlessly clean and provided everything we wanted. Holidaying in early February in the Uk it’s essential to feel warm and cosy, and the Lodge was excellent. Great location for moorland walks and Tavistock, with its cafes, shops and market. The site was quiet and easy to find. I had difficulty using the allocated parking space, it was very tight in my camper van, made more difficult by a neighbours car, however a small car would be fine. I got around this by using a visitor space which is next to the Lodge.

We had a great time and it was an amazing experience.

Never had been to tavistock and the area, it was great to explore and return to a cosy cottage at the end of the day. We we're suprised at how clean and nice the property was, really bright. Have already recommended it to other family members and friends as it was a very pleasant stay.

Quiet. Would definitely visit again. But leaving only a single dishwasher tablet was a bit mean.

This lodge is excellent, it's comfortable, well equipped, and is sited on a quiet park. There are beautiful views from the lodge, and it is a short drive from Tavistock town. We can recommend this lodge.

We had a lovely week at lodge 11 (apart from the weather lol) the lodge itself is absolutely beautiful and clean we had a slight problem with the heating but the owner Carol had it sorted within 24 hours I'd highly recommend a stay here *****

Lodge 11 is in an ideal location to visit both Devon and Cornwall, with many things to do to suit everyone.

We found the Lodge as described in the listing and it was very comfy with everything you could possibly require, including peace and quiet. We would definitely return to Lodge 11, if in the area again. Many thanks Neil and Sharon

Lodge 11 is a lovely cottage in a quiet location.

I was not able to email the owner for the number of the key safe so had to text which with the owner living in Australia was rather expensive. The lodge was very well equipped but the heating was not working, the display was showing a fault. This did not matter too much as on the whole it was warm enough there was only one day when I could have done with some heat, I put on a jumper instead.

We had a wonderful weeks stay at Lodge 11!

The lodge was excellent, very comfortable, clean, great facilities and in a lovely location, very peaceful. A good selection of DVDs, books and board games were a plus too. We were very lucky with the weather so able to enjoy all areas of Devon which were easily accessible by car. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and would highly recommend!

Fantastic accommodation, was even larger than we thought it would be.

The site was so peaceful and quiet with lovely views from the balcony. Ideally situated and Tavistock is a really lovely old town, we were very lucky with the weather. We will be back.

We always believe that any accommodation is the first contributor of having a great holiday and we certainly wasn’t disappointed on this occasion.

If I was to be hyper critical it would be about the poor WiFi connect which is due to the remoteness of the site. Some might say that’s an advantage though

We found the lodge extremely comfortable and everything was as advertised. There was plenty to see and enjoy in the area and we will go back again.

This property is really good, lovely and clean and very comfortable.

Nice and quiet, with a lovely view of surrounding countryside. You need to follow the owners directions to find the place, not the satnav, or you will get lost. We really enjoyed our holiday here, and will definitely go again.

Owner brilliant, dishwasher not working

Lodge was excellent, but unfortunately there was no other amenities on site.

Beautifully appointed lodge in a great location - about 6 minute drive from Tavistock and all areas of Devon and south Cornwall are easily accessible by car.

We had a wonderful week in Number 11.

It is very well appointed, with everything we needed to make our stay very enjoyable. The furnishings and decor are tasteful, the lounge furniture is perfect, with comfortable sofas. I am always concerned about a strange bed, as I have a problem with my back, but I slept well, the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, again with everything we needed, we cooked and ate in most evenings. The bathroom and en suite are very pleasant. The huge TV, good supply of DVDs and books are a plus. We had glorious weather but had it been wet we would have been quite happy staying in. As it was we sat out on the decking with a glass of wine in the evenings. The site is in an idyllic spot, surrounded by picturesque countryside, but just a short drive from Tavistock. The folder of local information on shops, eating places etc. was very helpful. All in all we were very pleased.

The lodge was absolutely beautiful.

The location is perfect for exploring the local area, but also very peaceful. The lodge was perfectly equipped with everything we needed & more. We thought the lodge was very tastefully decorated & felt very welcoming. We only have one tiny thing to mention & that is so it can be remedied. The plug in the sink of the main bathroom didn't fit properly, so you couldn't run a basinful of water.

The layout of the lodge is great,a fantastic, bright and airy living area and the beds where very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet break away from home.

It was everything we expected peaceful, comfortable with lovely views.

The weather was very windy and monsoon rains but it was so cosy in the lodge, this may have been the reason the Wi-Fi was intermittent. We hope to return.

Accommodation was superb.

Everything you need is there and very comfortable. Iron and ironing board also available which was not listed. Nice and quiet and accessible to a lot of places of interest. Bit of an issue with internet and tv because of where its situated but only to be expected. Very well maintained and would come again My friend and I had a very comfortable stay.

If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday this is the place to be.

Lodge 11 has the wow factor. We stayed here in July this year. We were very impressed. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Owners provided everything we needed even down to complimentary milk and biscuits. We will definitely be visiting here again.

This property is first class, spotless, and all the bits and bobs that you need when indoors.

There is a really nice pub about 2 miles or so away good menu,but You are fairly close to Tavistock. Good communication from the owners who let us know that we could get in an hour early. Lots of places to visit so the rest is up to you and the weather

Really spacious and well presented.

With 2 large bedrooms, one en suite , and large bathroom. Extremely clean and comfortable. Great views fro. Panoramic views from the lounge, and surround decking. Well presented large kitchen will all facilities This is a select development of 11 chalets, well thought out and very quiet, yet accessible.

The towels provided were damp, luckily we brought our own.

No washing machine for customer use in this particular unit is a real disadvantage. A SMART TV would have been nice too, especially in this day and age. Internet not up to current day standard either so could not even watch Netflix on the PC. Other than that, the lodge is very nice, it was quiet, clean and comfortable. Little extras like at least one dishwasher tablet for the 1st night would have been very nice, or some washing up liquid. Fabulous views when the weather is nice.

Lovely week and the Lodge was very nice, exactly as advertised.

Location very handy - a 10 min drive down to Tavistock (a nice place in itself) where there are plenty of shops and supermarkets. Close enough to places like Looe and Bude for a day out. A nice touch was fizz, chocolates and cake upon arrival - much appreciated!

This is a very comfortable and clean lodge.

Very nicely furnished. A quiet site for those who don’t want to be bothered with the usual entertainment, shop, pool, kids etc. Just what my husband and I needed after a busy year. A car is needed to go anywhere or to get provisions but if privacy and peace is what you are looking for (which we were) this site is ideal. Views from the lodge are open and interesting. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We selected this property to have a "change of scene" break having been at home since end of March this year owing to pandemic, this property is secluded, set well away from the madding crowd.

It is rare that a holiday rental property description and pictures meet fully with reality, we can say that this property not only met but exceeded expactations. It is spacious, well maintained, clean and comfortable, plenty big enough for four adults. Beds are extremely comfortable, with good "wake up" showers in bathrooms, the walk in shower en-suite with double bedroom is large enough for the more ample framed person. The second bathroom has a good shower located over a bath. The kitchen is well equipped, with an electric oven and a gas hob, we are not used to cooking with gas but were impressed once we mastered flame control. A full size fridge/freezer easily accomodated all the fresh groceries we brought with us, ample cupboard space for stowing away tinned/dry goods. Lounge is very comfortable. At the latter end of our break the weather turned chilly we can vouch that the heating system is simple to use, (turn of a dial thermostat), and very effective throughout lodge, it makes this accommodation very suitable for the cooler months of the year. The first half of our week the sun shone, in fact it was very warm, the decked areas are a lovely place to sit during both day and evening, as lodge faces south, with far reaching views across Dartmoor. There is a four seater table on decking and a parasol is stored in hallway, for use with patio table. Although the lodge itself is set on one level there are a set of steps to access property via the decked area. Lodge 11 has a single designated parking space, but if you are a party with more than one car additional parking is located on the other side of the lodge. For shopping, Tavistock is a few minutes drive away and there is a superb, high quality, farm shop called "Strawberry Fields" which also has a 200 seat cafe in the village of Litton a 15 minutes away, also highly recommend the Peter Tavy Inn again about a 15 minute drive. Lodge location is right on the Devon/Cornwall border with plenty of places of interest to visit on day trips. We will definitely look to book this lodge again for future breaks.
