Little Silver Fox

My girlfriend and I booked the little silver fox for a short break away and it was amazing.

Nestled in the middle of an apple orcharch with views over a sweeping field and hillside with only the noise of the wind going through the trees. The golf buggy self transfers to the lodge was a great touch, as it meant there were no noisy cars nearby to disturb anyone. We spent hours in the evening watching the sun go down from the hot tub. The lodges are situated in such a way that it's nigh on impossible to disturb someone else / be disturbed. We spent so much time just relaxing and enjoying the peace, quiet and the view. you'll hardly want to do anything else! The facilites within the hut were ample, with a nice welcome basket, fresh robes and a log fire which heats the place up in no time at all. There's a nice place to eat nearby called "smoke on the water" which is a rough and ready American style BBQ. Ideal for a quick hour out to get some nice food. If you're thinking of booking, do it!

The property was cozy, comfy, well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Our hosts were highly attentive on arrival and when we reached out to them, but otherwise left us to enjoy the privacy and beauty of the site. Lots of little touches on top made this one of the best getaways we've had in the UK. The location is great for exploring North Devon, but if looking to relax you needn't leave the area. There some beautiful walks to explore in the immediate area.

We go every November now and it is a perfect time to get cosied up, log burner on and chill with eachother.

Hot tubs a very nice touch and if you book in the autumn the trees drop their leaves and opens up the whole view to the valley right out front of the hut. Stunning place and so well kept.

A beautiful little get away with stunning views.

The welcome basket was a lovely welcome with lots of tasty treats. Hot tub was a great way to unwind after a busy day exploring Devon.

We absolutely loved this trip, they have done a great job with the shepherds hut and surrounding area and the golf caddie was an added bonus which just gave our trip that additional special touch!

Peter did a great job of sending all the details prior to us arriving so we were well prepared as well as meeting us on the day of arrival to say hello. The hut was well equipped and everything worked as it should, we had no problems with anything. The bed was also very comfy! It is such a tranquil place and very relaxing, we brought a little sunshine along with us too so we could enjoy the view and also do a bit of train spotting. The hot tub was great, it did take a little while to heat on the first night so unable to use it but once heated we couldn’t stay out of it. We went to the Rising Sun down the road for dinner which was lovely hot food and friendly staff, they also do takeaway woodfire pizza which you can bring back to the shepherds hut so you can enjoy the view while eating dinner which was fab! We loved the wood burner within the hut, it created some great heat which allowed us to feel very comfortable especially when the air outside was cold, they leave you everything you need to do this and extra within the log store with an honesty box if you would like some more. Overall, it was such a great trip to relax and only a short drive away from some fantastic beaches, we will definitely be back and recommend to family and friends.

A beautiful, idyllic little hideaway with beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

The little extras of the use of a golf buggy and a lovely hamper on arrival makes it a little more personal. Hot tub was clean and maintained well. We liked the fact that you didn’t even need to wear a swim suit

We loved Little Silver Fox!

Fantastic views over the valley, incredibly peaceful and quiet and also very private despite there being 3 other huts nearby.

Hot tub was a fantastic addition that just made the place special. Great owners, superb welcome pack and all the info you needed was sent in advance. Oh, and getting to and from the hut everyday using the golf buddy was immense fun.

P When you arrive your greated by Peter & Lisa who are a friendly and easy going couple. You go by golf buggy to your accommodation. Waiting there is a well stocked welcome basket with fresh homemade bread. The hut was spotless and very comfortable, and let's not forget the hot tub,the highlight of every evening with a cool glass of wine ,Magical. We will definitely be returning in the future. Our seconds stay at Fox.

What a wonderful adventure. Hosts are wonderful, even helped us with some tasty local recommendations. Soaking in the tub most evenings after a day of walking or doing nothing, starring into the stars and listening to the evening chorus of wildlife.

Excellent location and host very peaceful and facilities were spot on everything we could need and a lovely welcome basket which was much appreciated will definitely be re booking in the future 10/10

This is a little slice of heaven the setting is beautiful and if you want to relax then this is a perfect place to do so.

It was nice to be welcomed by the host and the basket of goodies was a lovely touch in the hut. The hot tub was perfect and we enjoyed most evenings watching the stars with the chiminea keeping us warm. Highly recommend a stay here.

The shepherd hut exceeded our expectations. Cleanliness was top notch! Welcome hamper was a lovely surprise - Thanks Little Silver Chickens, Bees and Apple Orchard! The hot tub was perfect and a real luxury to sit under the stars sipping Prosecco. Although there are 4 huts in the area each has been thoughtfully placed so none overlook each other. The golf buggy from the carpark was good fun too! We will definitely be returning.

Everything about the location was perfect.

So restful and quiet, and Peter & Lisa just left us to relax in peace with no intrusion whilst giving everything of service. Only downside is Sykes' e-mail bombardment for "feedback" and comment - I use my 'phone as an alarm clock and so it is next to the bed with the volume on. Getting woken by an e-mail alert at 2am every other night is really not appreciated. Sykes need to programme their computer to send their spam out during office hours, not the small hours. NB: Sykes is an agent; not the site owner/operator. The site owners - and the site - are awesome!

We had a lovely warm welcome from Lisa & Peter when we arrived, We stayed in the ‘little silver fox’ it was very clean & comfortable, we had everything we needed!

The welcome basket was a lovely surprise, The views were Amazing it was so quite & peaceful we loved every minute and will definitely return next year .

It was the second time we stayed at the Little Silver Fox and it was as good as the first time!

What was a lovely little break in Devon was massively overshadowed by the shambles that is Sykes and the way they go about their business.

I booked this 2 night stay for £450 back in June, but was quickly sent a confirmation email suggesting I had booked the incorrect dates, which I most definitely did not do. After calling and emailing Sykes a number of times, no one answered, I was left in a position where I just had to book the holiday with the 'new' dates. The price rocketed to £1135 for 2 nights. As nice as this quirky little place is, it certainly isn't worth over £600 per night, as the owner was quick to agree. The owner's are nice, they got in touch and tried to help, but they also hit a brick wall when it came to asking Sykes what happened, they suggested it was me who made the wrong booking and the surge in prices is just to be expected at this time of year. It's a shambles quite frankly, don't trust them at all. You'll end up with hidden fees and charges as they try to fill their pockets, sadly I'll never ever be going with them ever again and neither should you. As someone who's mental health has been dreadful this past year, I was really looking forward to this, but all these troubles and the financial burden of it has actually set me back about 10 steps in my recovery... it is really such a shame. I will continue to try recover and try to forget all about this, but I feel it's important to help others not make the mistakes i made, in thinking I could trust these people. Adam

The hut was beautiful!

It was so comfortable and wonderfully designed. All the little touches were amazing- the golf cart, the welcome basket, the underfloor heating, the storage space in the hut and everything else, the view, the styling, the log burner, EVERYTHING was brilliant. We will definitely recommend it to anyone who appreciates nature and enjoys a cosy space.

The owners were incredibly friendly and there was so much information about what we could do and where. The cottage was divine and comfortable, the perfect place to spend out anniversary. The hot tub was perfect and, even though the weather wasn't amazing, we still got to take full advantage of this. We were so happy with our choice and would 100% do it again.

We had a magical four night break for our 30th Wedding Anniversary in this beautiful Shepherds Hut.

Lovely welcome from the owners , spotlessly clean, and all mod cons,and everything had been thought of, fab welcome basket which had honey from The Little Silver House Bees and apple juice from the orchards, hot tub was amazing, spectacular views, golf buggy to get about the site on which was fun, peaceful piece of heaven of which we would love to return. We Highly Recommend staying here .Thank You.

I can't recommend the Silver Fox enough.

The owners have carefully thought about all C19 aspects of staying here and keeping it safe. We felt that they were very professional, but also lovely and friendly and full of helpful tips. The accommodation was spotless, as was the buggy to reach it. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere so serene. There was a hamper of goodies left was very tasty and just what we needed after the journey there. We spent evenings in the hot tub watching the stars ping out. The Silver Fox has all the bits and pieces provided that you need to prepare food. The furnishings are very tasteful and cosy. We can't wait to return.

Everything about 'The Little Silver Fox' is perfect, the location, the hosts, everything about it this place is brilliant, would highly recommend.

There was nothing about the Little Grey Fox to disappoint.

Everything was perfect! The Kingsize bed was particularly comfortable with lovely bedding including big bouncy pillows and a gorgeous soft furry throw. Even though we visited in January the hut was beautifully warm with underfloor heating and a cosy log burner supplied with ample logs. The hot tub was perfectly positioned to enjoy the magnificent view with a glass of bubbly (champagne glasses provided). The golf buggy provided to navigate the steep path to our hut was great fun and useful for moving luggage to and fro. We were met on arrival by Peter who clearly understood that being on hand but discreet is key. We could have easily have spent the four days staying put in such an ideal setting but we ventured out to some local pubs all of which were lovely and cosy with good home cooking. We drove out to the quaint village of Clovelly and even went over the border into Cornwall and discovered the rugged Cornish coast at Bude. We could have stayed longer and would consider a Monday to Friday break in the future.

Silver Fox was a little piece of heaven.

After a very long day of travelling we were amazed at the shepherds hut! The images don’t do it justice, the hut was more spacious than we imagined. It had everything you need for a lovely stay. The welcome hamper was amazing and we were even given milk, butter and eggs ready for our arrival! We couldn’t recommend enough. Watching the winter sunrise from our bed or hot tub was a beautiful experience. Thanks Silver House for an amazing experience!

Wow what an amazing little find.

We spent our 10 year Anniversary here and it was superb. From the arrival in the golf buggy to the welcome basket everything is thought of for you. So clean and tidy and wonderful views of the devon countryside. The hot tub was an added bonus being able to sit there with a glass of wine and watch the view. We are already planning our return visit.

Having just spent an idyllic week in Little Silver Fox, we really didn’t want to leave.

The views from this fabulous shepherds hut are the best I have ever seen and sitting in the private hot tub, looking over the valley was simply perfect. From start to finish, this was the most relaxing holiday, with all of the best quality amenities you could possibly fit into a perfect little package, right down to underfloor heating and a log burner! Lisa and Peter are very accommodating hosts and have thought of everything; even a private golf buggy to drive backwards and forwards to your car. A brilliant base for enjoying all of North Devon, if you can manage to tear yourself away from this peaceful haven.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome.

We were shown to our accomodation but then left on our own which was nice. There was a couple of gardeners around who were incredibly friendly. The condition of the hut is perfect, very clean with a the essentials. We want on a nice local walk on one day to a local village up over the hills. A very relaxing peaceful holiday,we are likely to return

We only stayed at the little silver fox for just 3 nights and truly wished we had booked more.

The Little Silver Fox is a little gem, a slice of paradise in an idyllic setting. The hosts Lisa and Peter have thought of everything you could possibly need to make your stay a perfect one. The shepherds hut has been fitted to a very high standard with quality products, the photos online give an excellent view of what to expect and the addition of the welcome pack which contains food and drink to get you started and providing those extra little touches such as salt, pepper and oil and washing up liquid, means you don't have to remember to bring these along with you. The setting is perfect, situated in an orchard, with birds, bees and butterflies for company and views across the valley in near peace and quiet were exactly what we were expecting and needed. Having a golf buggy to use to and from the small car park is a very clever idea and a lot of fun. The real bonus here is the hot tub and we loved it. The hosts provide gorgeous fluffy robes which is a luxurious touch and ideal to wear to and from the hot tub. We spent every evening enjoying a glass of fizz and as there is hardly any light pollution here and keeping all external lighting off we were able to watch the amazing night sky and spotted several shooting stars while listening to the owls hooting. I would highly recommend this little gem to anyone looking for some peace and quiet while enjoying a little touch of luxury.

Had the best time ever at this beautiful little shephards hut in a stunning location with amazing views.

All amenities are provided other than usual self care items such as shower gel etc. A little welcome basket containing coffee, tea, sugar, eggs, home made cookies, crisps and apple juice was provided and there was milk and butter in the fridge. The only issue we had was with the hot water and a quick email to Peter fixed that. The only suggestion I have for improvement would be to add a little fan to the property and also a mirror in the main area as having to use one mirror in the bathroom is a little difficult if someone else is using the bathroom at the time. The hot tub was absolutely amazing and the temperature and controls easy to navigate. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as the owners are wonderful and very helpful too. All friends were commenting on the photos and beautiful and romantic it looked which it was!

Everything was perfect!! We received a lovely greeting from Peter, the welcome basket was divine with everything we needed to enjoy our first evening and breakfast. What a place, what a view, it was super relaxing. We spent a wonderful day discovering the area and tried a few pubs out on recommendation, returning to the hut to relax in the hot tub and watch the sun go down was priceless! Wonderful hosts, gorgeous setting, super clean and safe.. I would highly recommend. We will certainly be back! Thank you again Peter and Lisa!

My wife and I recently returned from a romantic weekend break at Little Silver Fox to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary.

Everything was just perfect and we cannot thank out hosts Peter and Lisa enough for their hospitality. If you're looking for a romantic getaway in beautiful surroundings then this is the place!!

The Sheperds Hut was just as advertised in the pictures, but what couldn't be described, was the beautiful setting, the peacefulness, and just how totally relaxed you feel, with the Hut, hot tub and setting 'Practically Perfect in every way' The owners were lovely, friendly and welcoming but also left you to just enjoy your stay The quality of fixtures and fittings was exceptional, with little extra touches of the Welcome Basket and Alexa etc.

We were the first customers to use the new shepherds hut the Little Silver Fox.

There are three shepherds huts on the side of a hill over looking a valley. The huts are far enough apart to allow privacy when using the hot tubs. The novel experience of using golf buggies to reach the huts was also a first for us and is necessary as the access is quite steep. Our hosts made us very welcome and provided a basket of treats on arrival. The whole experience was delightful and we would thoroughly recommend the excellently fitted out, comfortable shepherd huts for a relaxing break in a quiet location but within easy reach of the North Devon Coast.
