What guests are saying
Beautiful stay at Little Silver Leaf.
The accommodation is perfectly proportioned and really cleverly laid out to include lots of little stash places and great use of space. The hut was at the edge of the orchard, very peaceful with a stunning view. We enjoyed the hot tub and cosy log burner! The hosts were very response both before and during our stay. They also provided an amazing welcome basket with the tastiest apple juice!
We arrived a little earlier than expected, and honestly, from the moment we drove through the entrance we both immediately felt like we were somewhere a bit special.
There was just something about the whole place that felt luxurious without being flashy. We collected our keys and golf cart, loaded everything up, and then had this slightly damp little nighttime drive through the site down to Little Silver Leaf itself. Even in the drizzle it was beautiful. When we reached the end of the path and saw it properly for the first time, we were both completely taken with it. The whole space has been laid out so thoughtfully, with the hot tub area up on the top tier, the hut nestled into the hillside below it, parking directly outside the front door and a little seating area tucked beside the cabin. It all feels modern, well cared for and really nicely put together. The hut itself is absolutely adorable. Inside, everything was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and arranged with a real sense that somebody had actually thought about how the space should feel rather than simply filling it with furniture. The hosts had also left us a basket full of gorgeous local produce, which was such a lovely touch and immediately made us feel thoroughly spoilt. We had barely finished unloading the golf cart before deciding that the only sensible thing to do was get straight into the hot tub. It was our wedding night, so this was our first evening together as husband and wife, and I honestly cannot think of a better setting for it. The place felt secluded without feeling isolated, the views were beautiful even at night, and there was something very special about sitting out in the hot tub in the darkness, surrounded by trees and complete peace. One useful thing I would say to anyone arriving late is that takeaway options around the area are fairly limited. That is absolutely no reflection on Little Silver Leaf itself, but it is worth knowing in advance. There are supermarkets close by though, so it is very easy to pick something up beforehand and settle in without having to go hunting for food later. The next morning was probably one of my favourite parts of the entire stay. It was slow, grey and drizzly, and we woke up looking out over the trees and the valley below. The whole site was so quiet that all we could really hear was birdsong and raindrops. There was no traffic, no people wandering about, no noise from neighbouring accommodation. Just rain, trees and silence. Eventually the weather dried up a little and we decided to go looking for the walking trail. Unfortunately, it had been blocked by a fallen tree, so rather than force the issue we just changed plans, took the golf cart for a gentle drive around the site and then parked it away in the garage before heading out to find a nearby viewpoint. We ended up at Ford Wood, which was absolutely perfect. Beautiful woodland, peaceful, and again there was not another soul around. In fact, during the entire time we were staying at Little Silver Leaf, we did not interact with a member of staff or another guest once. For us, that was heavenly. Importantly, though, it never felt like we had simply been left to fend for ourselves. Staff were always available should we have needed anything; we just never had to. Everything had been taken care of so well that we were able to enjoy the privacy without ever feeling unsupported. There is a real difference between somewhere feeling private and somewhere feeling unattended, and Little Silver Leaf somehow gets that balance exactly right. Back at the hut, everything continued to impress us. The bed was seriously comfortable, the heating kept the chill off perfectly, and having the wood burner going in the evening made the place feel ridiculously cosy. It looked beautiful as well as being practical, and it added so much to the atmosphere. Everything was pristinely clean and neatly arranged, and all of the fittings and furnishings felt modern and well maintained. We did not even bother using the Wi-Fi. The local mobile signal was surprisingly excellent compared with what we are used to at home on the Isle of Wight, but truthfully we barely looked at a screen anyway, other than to take photos or use maps. The surroundings completely took over. Between the trees, the views, the silence, the rain, the birdsong and the hot tub, we just did not feel the need to be anywhere else. We only had a very brief honeymoon, but Little Silver Leaf managed to make it feel like something much bigger. After our little trip out, we quite happily spent the rest of our honeymoon drifting between the hot tub, the cosy cabin and the extremely comfortable bed, with absolutely nowhere else we needed or wanted to be. We are genuinely so grateful that we chose to stay here. It gave us exactly what we wanted after the wedding: somewhere beautiful, quiet, romantic, private and comfortable where we could completely disappear for a little while and enjoy being newly married. It made an already very special weekend feel even more special. We absolutely want to come back. An easy 5/5 from us.
Absolute little gem!
Stunning location, beautiful shepherds hut. No stone left unturned. Welcome basket was fantastic, the apple juice made from the orchard there was delicious. The golf buggy was so much fun & very useful to navigate the site. 100% recommend & hope to return!
