This was a holiday of a lifetime ✨️ ❤️ We loved our short break our first in a Shepherd's Hut which was excellent very clean & everything you would want.

We were lucky with the wonderful weather enjoying the unbelievable views especially from the hot tub in the evening sunshine. Thank you & hopefully we will be able to visit again.

We had a lovely stay at Little Silver Owl.

The accommodation was well equipped, had a lovely view and very clean. The area was very peaceful and had a relaxed feel for a much needed get away. The welcome basket was a very kind, and much appreciated, gesture from the owners. We were also provided with all the information we needed upon arrival and had no issues during our stay. Would highly recommend and will definitely be booking again in the future.

The best place ever, the most romantic getaway!

We had a wonderful stay in Little Silver Owl, the hut was immaculate and so cozy and comfortable.

The owner Peter was waiting when we arrived and gave us a really friendly warm welcome. The golf caddy down to the hut was such a fun touch, my husband loved it! The little wood fire in our hut was lush and kept us toasty warm the whole time, with extra logs available only a few steps away. The view from our hut was gorgeous, relaxing in the hot tub looking out over the hills was amazing in the mornings. Highly recommend a stay here.

Stayed at Little Silver Owl and it was amazing and very relaxing (the hot tub was a great addition), a good getaway from the crowds and having a peaceful and quiet time, recharging. Breath taking views. The hut was clean and you had everything you needed. The golf buggy was fun and the host was friendly and nice. Enjoyed everything and definitely recommend.

We spent a week at The Silver Owl.

The view was amazing. The hosts were great. The little touches of a Welcome basket and the golf cart that I will miss as it was so much fun. Property is clean and cosy. Their own apple juice is just delicious and I ended up buying more. Could of easily spent another week there. Hot tub was the perfect way to spend an evening after a busy day exploring Devon. Will definitely book again next year

Such a quiet , tranquil , beautiful , restful week in the Shepherd hut .

Views stunning and jacuzzi an added delight each evening with robes provided , a lovely touch Couldn’t do anything about the wet weather though but still didn’t take away from the beauty around us as we viewed the landscape . The buggy to and from hut a fabulous addition

It was amazing

Booked this fairly last minute and didn’t spend a lot of time researching our options - this exceeded all expectations though.

Well-appointed and very cosy and comfortable shepherd’s hut with beautiful views. Sipping Prosecco in the hot tub overlooking the valley after a busy day sightseeing was just perfect. And the golf buggy was such a useful and fun way to access the huts as well. Peter, our host, was very helpful on our arrival and departure and we were particularly thankful for the electric charging point, which took a lot of stress out of our sightseeing plans.

This is my second stay at High Bickington and I was not disappointed.

Although it was only a fleeting visit, it was well worth it. I love the peace and tranquility and the high standards maintained by the owners. I was made to feel welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue or indeed, to return again.

Unique location with marvelous views across open countryside.

The shepherds hut and hot tub provided complete privacy and the provision of the golf buggy to access the site was a brilliant concept. The welcome basket was greatly appreciated especially Lisa's home made bread. Peter was always available to contact and a mine of information without being at all intrusive. Has everything you need to just relax with Devon’s spectacular beaches only a short drive away. Love the quietness of a winter break & dark nights but would be equally lovely in any month. The app is very useful & has everything you need to know & more. Highly recommend.

We had the loveliest little break away - even despite choosing the most awful weather!

I imagine here in summer is even lovelier. The accommodation was so warm and cosy, especially at sunrise. It had everything you could’ve needed and the shower was great - just remember to keep the hot water on! We enjoyed pottering around the hut on rainy days and there’s plenty of countryside to explore if you want to stay close to home. The hot tub was lovely and hot and felt very private. Simon was lovely and very helpful. We’ll definitely be back again so we can use our golf buggy as well as enjoy a relaxing holiday!

It is so beautiful, peaceful and very relaxing driving the buggy is fun and relaxing in the jacuzzi in the evening looking over the valley is beautiful.

Little Silver Owl is an absolute delight!

The facilities are excellent, the views are breathtaking, the site is quaint and has been quite expertly transformed into a beautiful and functional place to stay. Hot-tubbing with nature is enough to relax the most tightly wound body and mind! Thanks team for such a wonderful stay, I will certainly be back and looking forward to it already

Very welcoming when we arrived, the golf buggy was ready for us to put our luggage on and take it to our hut.

When we got there it was just how we imagined if not better with amazing views the whole time and the hot tub was ready to jump straight in. We are already planning to come back again this time for longer. Highly recommend for a getaway!!

Very comfortable and as self catering we managed well. The owners had really put some thought into the design and were very informative of how things worked. We stayed for 4 nights to get away from the rat race and re-charge our batteries and that's exactly what we did. Spent 90% of our time at the hut and the hot tub. Loved it. Thank you.

Everything was perfect - the property was well looked after and had everything I needed, the welcome book was very helpful, the hot tub was clean and ready to jump straight into and the view was beautiful. Fantastic gem of a property.

Everything has been thought through to provide all comforts in a compact space. The surroundings and that view make this a truly special place to stay if you are looking for somewhere to relax, recharge and spend quiet time with a loved one.

Amazing little shepards hut with fantastic views and amazing hot tub.

Shepards hut has everything you need, Peter and Lisa thought of everything. Amazing welcome hamper to get you started, the homemade apple juice was incredible. There are other shepards huts nearby, however the location and surroundings always means you are given your privacy. Very peaceful and quiet. Only 30-40 minutes drive to nearby beaches which were fantastic, we dipped in the hot tub in the morning, afternoon and night time which was great to relax. Me and my husband had a wonderful stay and will definitely returning and will be recommending to our family and friends. And finally the golf buggy was a lovely added treat to get to and from the hut.

The perfect place for pure relaxation!

I've honestly never stayed anywhere before that is so quiet. There is next to no road noise and one tiny train that goes past deep down in the valley every half hour, that's it. Other than that it's just nature and it's beautiful! Completely secluded, the privacy is great - you can just throw open the hut doors in the morning and there's not a soul in sight. Great hot tub, great dark skies, great bed, great waterfall shower with a surprisingly huge cubicle for the size of the hut. Buggies are fantastic fun - I wish more places followed suit! Can't recommend it enough.

Luxurious shepherd's hut containing everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved the hot tub and the golf buggy was such fun to use. Loads of useful information supplied by the owners about the area and advice on things to do and places to visit. We would love to return one day but the 8 hour car journey home was pretty exhausting ! Nevertheless, highly recommended

What an absolute gem of a place:) After a jovial friendly welcome from Peter we made our way to Little Silver Owl in the golf buggy and were so impressed with such a thoughtfully put together accommodation.

Absolutely perfect in every way, fabulous welcome basket, beautiful views, peaceful evenings and even the sun shone for us. Even if it hadn't we would have been totally cosy with the hot tub, fire, heating and wood burner. I have rarely felt so chilled and relaxed. Even though we didn't actually need it due to there being plenty of chargers locally, the electric car charger is an added bonus too! I am already planning a return visit just hope I haven't praised it so much it gets completely booked up! Thank you again Peter and Lisa :))

The Little Silver shepherd's huts are wonderful - perfect for a relaxing, romantic, re-charging break.

It was great to wake up to the amazing view each morning with everything you need on hand. It was cosy, comfy and secluded, and situated in beautiful countryside. The welcome basket of goodies including home made bread and honey from their own bees (which was delicious) is a marker of the owners' attention to detail. Hot-tub and golf buggy were fun to use.

Absolutely amazing weekend the cottage is unreal, hot tub is incredible also we had a welcome basket which had everything we needed, Lisa and Peter were so welcoming will definitely be back

This place is wonderful and one of our absolute favourite places in the world, especially after staying here after our wedding then again for our 1st wedding anniversary.

The only main feedback I have to give (as everything is so perfect) is the check out time is extremely early. Considering check in is quite late in the day (4pm) a later check out of 11:00am, for example, would at least allow guests to have their last breakfast coffee or dip in the hot tub before having to leave. At the moment, the whole morning is taken up by packing, washing up and getting ready to leave, that it doesn’t leave you much time to take in the most amazing morning views last minute. Appreciate this was introduced for covid but it maybe a good time to relax these measures a little more to allow guests a chance to soak in all the time they have here.

Perfectly appointed accommodation with style and thoughtfulness…….can think of nothing to add to practicality and comfort.Views beautiful and wonderful sense of peace…birdsong and wind soughing in treetops. Generous hamper delightful and buggy driving had us in stitches …..a wonderful 3 days we hope to repeat…

We had an amazing stay at Silver Owl.

We were greeted by Peter the owner who is friendly & welcoming. The golf buggy is such a good idea and such fun to take your luggage down to your shepherds hut. On arrival was a generous welcome pack which included homemade baked fresh bread their own honey & eggs. Such a lovely touch as well as wine, fresh milk, butter, the list goes on. The shepherds hut is lovely & spacious with a comfortable king size bed with an Alexa to listen to your favourite music, a Smart Tv and has an oven for cooking if you don’t want to eat out. Everything has been thought of. The hot tub is amazing to relax unwind and take in the lovely surroundings and views whilst listening to the birds tweeting to one another. We had a nice meal at the Bell at Chittlehampton which is only a couple of miles away but you will need to drive their. We defiantly would consider returning again one day.

Wow we stayed at Little Silver Owl hut for 7 nights from 25th March - 1st April 2022.

It is amazing, so chilled. The electric car charging is just want we wanted no stress of finding local charging points. The hut was clean and had everything we needed. The welcome hamper was the best we have ever received including fresh baked bread, milk, eggs, butter, crisps, coffee, tea bags, a bottle of wine, fresh apple juice made from the apples in the orchard was amazing and we even had honey from the owners Bees. The hosts Peter & Lisa were great there if we needed them if not we were left alone. My husband loved the Golf buddy to use to get to and from the hut. Will definitely stay again one day. Thank you.

Little Silver House is a gorgeous place and a brilliant location for a romantic holiday away.

The Silver Owl hut was immaculately clean when we arrived, and the little hamper with some supplies including bread, milk, eggs, coffee and even a bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Riding the golf buggy to and from the hut was a fun quirk and relaxing in the hot tub in the evening was bliss. We found the staff extremely friendly while also completely unobtrusive, they leave you alone and let you enjoy your holiday in peace. Guidelines for what to do during our stay and on departure were crystal clear and we never felt lost. Overall a brilliant experience and we would definitely recommend it. Top marks!

What an absolute GEM of a location and accommodation 10/10

We really enjoyed the whole of our stay, they made you feel comfortable from the very start, the addition of a golf kart to and from your hut was fantastic especially for moving luggage around, the pla e was very clean and tidy and had such a relaxing vibe to it, hot tub was perfect and being able to see the stars was great, also they gift you a basket filled with homemade bread, bottle of wine, crisps, tea & coffee, eggs from their chickens and milk and butter in the fridge so you really don't need to worry.

I would highly recommend anyone to stay here and we are already thinking of a future trip back to the little silver owl

We stayed at the little silver House (Owl) for our mini-moon at the beginning of September.

From the early communication, instructions to finding the place, to being met on our arrival was perfect. The golf buggy is a great touch, and necessity given the distance and terrain to the cabins. The welcome gift basket we found in the cabin with home made produce was a beautiful touch. The cabin it self was amazing. So much thought had been put in to the layout. The outside area was lovely. Private, without restricting us from the beautiful views. The hot tub was also well maintained during our stay. An ideal location to stay, relax or explore the local areas. We would definitely recommend to others. Thank you for an amazing, relaxing stay.

A very relaxing place to stay especially if you like peace & quiet just perfect

We had a short break at Little Silver Owl this June, the pictures did not do the location or the Shepherds Hut justice.

The views were amazing and the facilities absolutely perfect. The welcome hamper with home produce was a beautiful touch that we were not expecting but was very well received. This is the perfect place for a peaceful and romantic stay, we can not recommend it enough and would definitely book to stay again.

We had the best time at Little Silver Owl.

The views are more than we could have ever expected, it’s just a stunning location. The owners are so lovely, knowing they are nearby but also feeling as if it was just the two of us was perfect. We genuinely felt as if we were on our honeymoon! The welcome hamper is such a lovely extra, no need to take milk/butter or any essentials as they are all provided, the small details are just fabulous. We also loved having the golf buggy, a super fun extra! During the day we visited Croyde and Sauton Sands, which was absolutely stunning and a perfect way to spend the day (particularly Croyde Bay). We then came back every night to our hot tub under the stars, it was truly the perfect retreat. I couldn’t recommend this enough!

Amazing trip staying in the Little Silver Owl.

The owners really do manage to bring the luxury of a hotel room to the natural and outdoorsy experience of glamping. The views from the shepherd's hut and jacuzzi were breathtaking. The little touches from the golf cart to the welcome hamper with home made biscuits all added to what was a fabulous trip.

Everything was perfect, beautiful setting, friendly host and attention to every little detail.

Amazing romantic getaway.

Oh my goodness, where to begin.

We booked to stay at the Little Silver Owl for our 10 year anniversary (and to get away from the madness that is 2020) and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect place. The hut itself is immaculate and has everything you could possibly need...and more! The quality of everything is insane, from the Eve mattress, to the comfiest pillows I’ve ever slept on (I really need to find out what brand they were) the Nespresso machine and the shower!!! We couldn’t understand how a little hut in the middle of Devon has better heat and water pressure than our flat in London. The views, I haven’t seen anything quite like it, even on a rainy November day they were beautiful. The highlight of our trip was certainly sitting in the hot tub, looking at the stars and hearing the owls hoot to each other, there’s nothing quite like it. Peter and Lisa and the most amazing hosts, even before we arrived we had arranged a little celebration package to be waiting for us. When we arrived Peter told us “we like to leave you alone and give you your space, but if you need anything please give us a text or call”, which is just what we wanted. Peter and Lisa are so welcoming and friendly and as we were leaving we stopped to chat to a woman who worked there (sorry we didn’t manage to catch he name) and she was also so lovely, friendly and wished us a safe journey home. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was honestly perfection, I couldn’t fault a single thing. Thank you so much for our incredible stay, we can’t recommend the Little Silver Owl enough and we can’t wait to return!

Lisa and Peter have thought of everything. It was my wife’s birthday while we were there and Lisa helped with advice on ordering flowers and recommended a lady who delivers 3 course meals. It made the day really special and my wife was so chuffed. They have thought of everything at little silver owl. The bed is very comfortable, the shower is powerful and despite everything being smaller than you’re used to, it all works perfectly and there was even ice trays so we could have a nice cold gin! Five stars!

The welcome, shepherds hut, golf buggy and location were all AMAZING, way beyond our expectations.

We stayed at Little Silver Owl for 4 nights in mid-January and it was truly unforgettable.

Right from the moment we arrived we felt welcome and relaxed. The hot tub was gorgeous (even when it started to rain). The hut was warm and comfortable and is really well laid out so you have everything you need. We found that the oven/grill was a bit slow, so we didn’t attempt to cook anything too elaborate and ate out most nights. The hob, however worked perfectly well so we could boil the kettle and cook the delicious eggs that came in the welcome pack. The little added extras by the hosts made this holiday exceed our expectations and we are already planning on coming back to stay!

Fabulous holiday from start to finish.

Excellent hosts and facilities amazing. The friendly owners of this place had thought of everything...it was truly amazing. The most relaxing holiday in comfort we’ve had in a very long time. We loved going out in the day for a walk/hike along the coasts and coming back to the hot tub and log burner was just what was needed for the aching bones and to just chill and relax. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for helping us have a fabulous break!

For a shepherd hut it was packed with comfy extras.

Owners have obviously put a lot of thought into making visits perfect. Communication from booking to last day check out was friendly and helpful. We’re almost reluctant to leave a review because we know these huts are going to be very popular once word is out at what gems they are and we want to visit again. The uninterrupted views are stunning, taking them in from hot tub or chairs provided just relaxes the soul. The grounds are well maintained with attention to detail like the huts. Definitely recommended.

From the moment that Peter greeted us in the car park to the moment I parked the golf buggy back in the garage everything was perfect.

The shepherds hut was fantastic with every detail catered for including a record player with your own vinyl to play. We loved the hot tub and the view was incredibly relaxing. We stayed at the hut to prepare a simple meal and this was a joy as we had everything we needed. Cannot find any faults! Thoroughly enjoyed.

The facilities met all our expectations and more and are 100% looking to book again next year. The area is amazing with beautiful views of the Taw Valley. The property boasts all mod cons such as underfloor heating and Amazon Echo, and a hot tub that you can just sit back in and admire the view and the stars at night. The property gives you everything you need and there is no requirement to go out of the property if you don't want to. Peter & Lisa were fantastic hosts.

Me and my wife were blown away with the beauty and tranquility that the Little Silver Owl gave us.

It has everything that you need to have a wonderful romantic break. The shepherd hut is beautifully set up, clean and modern and come evening time sitting in the hot tub with a glass of wine as the sun sets is so relaxing and peaceful. It's close to Barnstable and if you want to venture a little further you've got the beaches of north Devon. I cannot recommend this place enough and we will be looking to book again.

Peaceful, quiet, stunning scenery.

Superbly clean and tidy accommodation. Exceptional hosts. Easy to find. Have recommended to many already and will most certainly be returning. Perfect for a relaxing getaway, romantic weekend, exploring the surrounding countryside and villages, easy access to the coast and local shops. We loved having access to the golf buggies to take us to our hut. The hut was super comfy, cozy and clean. There isn't anything our hosts hadn't considered.
