    “We had an amazing time, the Shepherd’s hut is the perfect place to stay if you want to unwind and enjoy peace and quiet.”

    We sat watching the sun go down with swallows, owls and hares as company, the farm cat also came to say hello. The facilities are great, well equipped for BBQ’s and there is also a couple of hobs. Clean bathing hut and the shower was hot. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar provided with the addition of exceptional cake. The owners are very friendly we will definitely look to come back here.

Access The Shepherd's Hut by a private road, after ascending a few steps onto the decking you enter the open-concept interior.

To make hearty meals that can be enjoyed at the dining table there is a well-equipped kitchen area with an air fryer, fridge with an ice box, and a kettle.

On warm nights, relax on the patio chairs with a glass of wine while taking in the scenery.Freshen yourself in the separate shower area after a day of hiking.There is a heated towel rack to keep your towel warm and fluffy.

When you need to rest get into the double bed and flick through the Smart TV to enjoy a movie night in.

Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary and Deerpark Forest are close by where you can see a variety of animals and take your dog for a picturesque walk.Explore the riverside village of Lerryn; you'll find a Post Office for stocking up on necessities and a pet-friendly pub for local brews there.Spend the day exploring the rocky coast at Lantic Bay or travel to the peaceful town of Lostwithiel, which is close by and has a variety of shops, pubs, and cafes.

LOSTWITHIEL

Bodmin 5.5 miles; Fowey 7 miles.

A delightfully peaceful country town, nestling in the Fowey river valley amid the woods and fields that characterise the area. Renowned as a centre for the antiques trade, there are several shops and dealers in the town, as well as a fine collection of country pubs, restaurants and a thriving farmer’s market. Lanhydrock House (NT) and gardens is just 3 miles away, while the fabulous Boconnoc House, Eden Project, shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour at Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and Padstow, with the famous Rick Stein restaurants, are all within easy driving distance. The tumbling Atlantic surf, long sandy beaches and dramatic coastline of the north coast, including at the renowned Newquay, make for great days out and there is also chance to enjoy river canoeing, biking, hiking and leisurely walks in this lovely area. The friendly locals also have ongoing activities, such as the raft race, the famous tug of war, Carnival week and seagull outboard motor races.
