What guests are saying
On arrival we found the owner had left a welcome basket providing tea, coffee, biscuits etc all appreciated after a six hour journey, Sarah also contacted twice to check everything ok, we found the lodge spacious, clean and comfortable and well equipped with everything needed for our stay, a lovely location for exploring North Devon, would return and highly recommend.
Poppy Lodge was in a fabulous location on the park.
It was very quiet and we didn’t feel overlooked. The decking area had a good selection of outdoor furniture which was great to use in the lovely weather. The lodge was clean and very well equipped. There were so many useful things in the kitchen cupboards with plenty of crockery and utensils. The oven, hob and fridge/freezer were a good size and all worked well. Cleaning products were also supplied. The bed linen and towels were good quality and hand soap was provided. The mattress double bed in the main bedroom was harder than we are used to at home but others may find it to their liking. There was a small shop on site for essentials and The Depot eatery at the edge of the park was good for basic pub grub. The lodge is about a ten minute drive to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe so a great spot as a base for exploring the area. Sarah the owner communicated with us which was great and she provided some useful information on where to eat and places to visit. There was a fabulous hamper left for us on our arrival. Communication from Sykes was also good via email.
Poppy lodge was very good accommodation,it was very clean and comfortable ,there was everything there that you could possibly want ,it was in the ideal position on site.
