Valley Lodge 58

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at 58 valley Lodge and we love it I stayed many yrs ago when kids where younger at a different lodge, the scenery is great and the wildlife better, we had a hot tub in which was a bonus after your long days out to relax, thank you sykes as all ways

We had a lovely stay, the most relaxed I’ve been on holiday in a long while!

The site itself is gorgeous, we loved the trees and hearing the cows! The outdoor pool which is heated is lovely, although very deep at one end and much much smaller than we expected it to be comparing it to the photos on the ad. If the deep end was less deep I’d have been able to relax there more, maybe on the poolside with the kids in the water but it was too deep at one end so we did find that quiet stressful, no relaxing had! The indoor pool again heated, was amazing! So quiet and a depth that my youngest aged 8 could stand so was fab! You have to book the pools which was annoying but you can book consecutive sessions so not a big deal really. The WiFi only works either in the actual shop where you book or from your cabin. Very low signal using even mobile data in the surrounding areas as there are so many gorgeous hills. The lodge was gorgeous apart from the decking area which wasn’t swept and after phoning about it a gent did come and remove a dog mess that had been left on the upper decking which we spotted on arrival, wasn’t a fox mess as it was on the upper decking and looked like it had been there a while (we won’t post a photo). The man came within ten minutes of calling and picked up what my husband hadn’t also wiped the tables but he said that sweeping wasn’t part of the cleaning service which we do think absolutely should be! The chairs on the decking were very rusted underneath and the whole area of decking both up and down was dusty and webby and so we went and purchased our own brush to sweep. We had forgotten all about this by morning though as soon as we’d been to the sea which washed away our ‘inner webs’ :) the nearest beach (Looe) was a long forty minute car trip each way which was a lot each day but well worth it! The beds were comfy and clean, one twin room did smell slightly damp but probably because the lodge is literally up high in the trees and not much light at the back of the property. Speaking of light the external light at the back of the property did not work and so walking around the building in the dark was a bit iffy! Also to access the lodge from the front you have to sort of walk like Spider-Man on a slope to the side door if you want to avoid walking around the building which again was very dangerous! This could be resolved with some trimming of the hedges to create a small even footpath. Parking was an issue as people from other lodges or visiting other lodges often took our space at the bottom of the steps from the lodge so we’d have to park by the manor building and walk up which wasn’t ideal with lots of baggage/shopping. We feel that number signs for the relevant lodges on the spaces would be a good idea to try and deter the people parking wherever they wished. The kitchen was fab! A couple of sockets didn’t work but a lovely big kitchen. The toilet seat in one bathroom doesn’t stay up (the lid) so you have to hold it up and the seat in the other bathroom moves slightly so it does need some repairs doing here and there. With these repairs and cleaning of the decking areas, new decking chairs it would be spot on!!!!! We’ll be looking for something similar but closer to the beach for next year, hopefully in the trees again as it was just so peaceful and we’ll be looking at cleanliness reviews particularly with the outdoor seating. It’s a lot of money and so sweeping the decks should absolutely be included we feel! Overall had a lovely time and did not want to go home!

The property and site is very old and run down.

I questioned before travel regarding the reviews about damp but was reassured by Sykes this had been resolved which I can categorically say it has not. The property is damp and has damp patches on the ceiling of all bedrooms the main being the worst even the wall paper bubbles where damp is behind it there is black spores on the callings and around the skirting boards and radiators. Clothes hung in wardrobes were damp to put on in the mornings and it is truly a health and safety risk due to this I ended up in the doctors and needed antibiotics. If you decided to have a bath the towel used was still wet 4 days later so the damp was really bad. I do have photos to prove the property’s state of disrepair.we had no WiFi until Wednesday evening the property owner knew this was not working before we got there, the maintenance man was helpful and tried his best but still nothing is resolved we ended up fixing this ourselves. The beds are lumpy and the main mattress doesn’t even fit the bed. This holiday home in my opinion should not be let out until it is rectified to a decent living standard

We loved our stay.

There was smashed glass in the main bedroom under the bed and some in bin underneath the new bag. But other than that we absolutely loved the lodge hot tub was a bonus my kids loved it. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The shower room door didn’t lock and the toilet seat cover wouldn’t stay up.

One of the kitchen drawer fronts had come off. The WiFi cables had been messed about but we got it working. All pretty minor stuff in the scheme of things and we had a nice week in a lovely spot.

Holidaying with 3 young children….

no stairgate asked about having one only to be told the last users broke it and there was no replacement available. Everything felt really sticky as though it had been sprayed with something. Cobwebs everywhere especially around the hot tub of which the surround was falling to bits. No curtain/blind in the bathroom to keep the light from the outside light out. Would never of paid what we did if we knew it was like it was….the whole site is very tired.

Beautifully furnished and decorated, and adequately warned about the steep access, but the railings were in a poor state of repair, where one of the staves came away in the hand.

But the property was wonderful, the pool kept the youngsters amused, the hot tub was amazing and the owner was great!

On arrival the lodge appeared to have been cleaned superficially with dust & cobwebs on window sills and in corners.

The lodge smelt of stale cigarette or "Vape" smoke. The walls the shower and bath overflow had black hairs stuck to them. After unpacking and eating we settled down to watch the TV and I was immediately bitten on the ankle by a flea which I caught and drowned in a glass of water. Initially we put this down as a one off and went to bed . Over the following night I received 4 to 5 painful bites which came up as large red wheals, my son also complained of being bitten. We took pictures of the bites to evidence which have been sent to you. Throughout the following day we tried to contact maintenance on the two numbers provided without success. The next evening both my Husband and myself were bitten on several occasions with the guilty fleas caught and dispensed in the same glass of water as the first, again pictures were taken & have been sent to you. We again attempted to contact maintenance and the owner, and had to resort to contacting Sykes to sort out. The house had to be fumigated meaning we couldn't access the property for all of the 24/10/23. Even after fumigation we were still catching fleas so made the decision to cut our holiday short.

We have stayed at Honicombe Manor previously in number 51 and we had had lovely stays so we were looking forward to another.

Due to now being a larger party, we chose a larger property, this time being number 58 and we unfortunately felt our stay was not up to standards on many accounts which we are sad to say, took the shine off our holiday. Firstly, when we arrived, it was clear that the standards of cleanliness weren't up to what we would expect, or had from previous stays. Whilst it was clear the bare minimum had been done, other aspects had been left such as windowsills covered in dead flies, very dusty and sticky skirting boards and damp/mould signs on the bedroom ceilings. We overlooked this and settled in but as our two weeks went on, the difficulties we encountered Just seemed to mount up. We had a young child with us so were glad of the addition of the stair gate at the top of the stairs, however this was not securely fitted to the wall, making using it even more of a danger than not having it there at all, its clear its been attempted to be fixed in the past but has left gaping holes in the wall behind where it has ripped out of the wall. Furthermore, the balcony felt highly unsafe, there was an obvious slope downwards to it as you walk out and 3 of the slats in the balcony railings moved from side to side, not secured in which was another concern as we had a small child in our party. The hot tub, which is one of the highlights of the lodges we book at honicombe, unfortunately was clearly tired and many of the jets weren't working. The tired feel was obvious in the rest of the house where the freezer moved away from the units as you opened the door, towels provided (which is a bonus) were very hard and rough and one of the bedroom doors was hard to open and close. The lodge is advertised with two showers which we feel is important where the lodge can take up to 8 guests. That said however, the shower unit itself leaked and flooded the floor within seconds making it unusable and so we were restricted to sharing just the one shower. On inspection, it would only take a bit of silicone to fix the issue, and this issue (amongst others) have been mentioned many months prior so it was really disheartening to see this hadn't been bothered to be looked at. The shower was only used once as we noted it flooded, we cleaned it up and left it but then a week later noticed that this had then caused fungi to grow inside the house from the edge of the shower on the floor. The Internet was extremely slow but was changed half way through our stay which we were delighted about giving us a good connection. That said however, two days before our departure it then stopped working all together giving us nothing at all. Also, due to us staying for two weeks, the maids attended half way through our stay which whilst a nice touch, we had had no notice of this and were out at the time so we're unnerved to find that they had been in around all of our belongings without being made aware. Lastly, on previous visits, we had loved the manor pub, for the food and entertainment, frequenting it often during our stays. However we were gutted to find out that the entertainment was no longer on, the games room removed, the darts boards closed off entirely and food serving times restricted or closed entirely. It didn't have the same lively feel as it used to.

We had a wonderful stay at the lodge, very clean and tidy, beautifully decorated lodge, the hot tub was checked on during our stay which was great and on us leaving they emptied the hot tub ready for the next guests.

The site is all hills so very up and down but that didn’t bother us but may some people be if they do not realise The clubhouse- menu is small but has a good choice of food and was very tasty, entertainment on some of the nights of the week and the bands we saw were good, staff were polite and helpful We needed the assistance of maintenance whilst there and the owners were very helpful and got them out as fast as possible. I like they left us a folder with information of the lodge, how to book swimming, pubs/takeouts of the local area and other days out it helped us make decisions along the way as we had them to hand The washing machine has helped immensely as not so much washing to do now we are home!

our stay was ok, but the property was pretty run down.

we were not in it much, and left a day early so it was not a huge problem, but it smelt of damp when we arrived and there was a fair bit of dampness throughout our stay and I think the shower leaked into the bedroom next door. The facilities were good, but some of the kitchen equipment could do with an upgrade - baking trays, non stick frying pan etc would have been nice.

Really musty/damp aroma on arrival.

Wi Fi didn’t work most of the time and no response from the owner, left phone messages, text and email. No hairdryer. Had to clean kitchen table on arrival, grubby. Kitchen was great. Property was spacious but there is definitely room for improvement.

We loved the lodge and its position.

The main bathroom was a bit musty snelling but we dealt with that via an air freshner. The steps up a bit taxing for my wife

Apologies for the late review, we had a thoroughly enjoyable week, the lodge was well equipped and had everything we needed, the hot tub was a lovely treat.

We really adore the lovely restaurant on site and had several meals there, we had stayed at honnicombe manor the previous year and the staff remembered us, all very welcoming and friendly, the only down side was we had allocated parking for the lodge we took two cars and ensured we left space for the surrounding lodges, after coming back form a day out two large white vans had took up all the parking which we thought was selfish, so we ended up in the car park which wasn’t far, maybe numbered parking bays allocated to each lodge might be an idea, but overall we still had a lovely week and are hoping to come back again soon thank you so much

One mug had a large crack in it,so unable to use.

Railing on balcony very wobbly. Twin room next to master bedroom, the door was warped - very hard to open it. I think it should say on listing not suitable for people with mobility issues, as on a steep slope.

Stayed in valley 58, the cabin was well stocked with utensils in the kitchen plenty of plates cups etc for a large family, a PlayStation2 and dvd in the lounge with a few discs so worth taking your favourites with you.

Very spacious, the kids and adults enjoyed the jacuzzi. The only problems we had was with the internet but the maintenance people tried to sort it but it did still keep losing connection , I’m sure this will be sorted soon. The floors upstairs are very squeaky so was a bit of a problem for lazy adults when the kids get up early, quite hilly around the site and a few steps to get to cabin.

So the Holiday property was good clean had every thing in it and worked well with us hot tub was ideal .

to be picky the worse thing as lodge is on the hill was the parking or lack of just outside so if you arrive with more than one car got to park up at the pub which is a pain . the site its on is also fine pool pub play area but the week no food being served as lack of staff !!!!

Lovely small site, very quiet and peaceful.

Accommodation was great size and well appointed with all the amenities you could require. Nice hot tub which was nice and warm on arrival. Good size bedrooms and two bathrooms with a comfy and nice size living room. Pool was quiet and clean. Onsite pub ok, food standard pub meals. Some nice local takeaways. All in all, a nice relaxing stay for all the family.

A few little points to remedy: Put a shelf in the shower for shampoo etc Fix the towel holder in the shower room Heating needs flushing and bleeding Some non-stick pans would be useful and replace the missing knives from the block Oven door seal needs replacing.

If it was my property I would rearrange the bedrooms possibly to a 6 berth, the master bedroom is too narrow for the king-size bed, especially as it is the main access to the hot tub. Fix the shower rail in the bathroom so shower head stays still

Disappointed with accommodation.

Place smelt damp and it was quite dirty in places. Cobwebs all over the outdoor furniture and despite paying to have a hot tub it was dirty/green so we never used it. Just a lack care when things had been fixed with bathroom fill all around the side of the bath and badly fitted Lino that had lumps in it. The pressure in one shower was really low so took ages to wash your hair. Place needs some TLC

beautifully presented and decorated ,everything you could possibly need in the kitchen,the tea towel,dish cloth and dish washer tablets were a nice touch ,very comfy modern lounge and lovely bedrooms,this property was obviously decorated and furnished with love.

Note to other guests DO NOT touch the buttons on the tub,it will reach proper temperature the next morning,if you leave it alone as it is drained for each guest and takes a day to reheat.The bar was welcoming and the food was lovely on the occasions we ate there.Although there was enough room for 4 cars in the space provided we often had to park elsewhere due to inconsiderate drivers using the space for 3 cars.All in all a lovely stay

What a fantastic holiday.

Lovely location and the lodge had everything you would ever need for a family of 8. Hot tub was lush and safety checked everyday by the great management team. Big shout out to Kevin who was a wealth of knowledge of the area. Some great tips of places to go. The welcome pack also had loads of information. Would highly recommend to anyone and not sure where all the negative reviews came from. The place was clean tidy and plenty of space. I would say the area is hilly but that's like all of cornwall and what makes it so pretty. Thank you.

Bathrooms in the lodge were quite tired and could do with modernisation.

Steps and pathway th accommodation were not the easiest covered in slippery leafs and arriving at 5pm in the dark meant quite a hazard when getting to lodge as poor lighting from main road, note that reception did get someone to clear the pathway once highlighted. Hottub was really nice but very slimey feel when getting in, almost almost film which wasn't great. General comments on site facilities are that games room, shouldn't really be called a games room as apart from pool table the 2 games were out of order and table tennis ball s missing. Liked the booking system for the pool, but did have to raise that tiles were hanging from the ceiling. In summary for the price paid I would expect a but more and the site in general could do with freshened up. Saying that the location was really really nice as not previously stayed in this part of Cornwall

It would be helpful to have instructions on how to use hot tub.

After 24hrs we were told not to press the 'mode' button, this would have been helpful to know on arrival, this meant we couldn't use for the first 24hrs. The dishwasher is broken on both racks. More cutlery and plates would be helpful as having to take back out the dishwasher. Locks broken on both bathrooms-rather awkward! Shame no Christmas decorations since 27th Dec? Also just a suggestion, somewhere to put shoes near entrance would be good (8 people with 2 pairs each=mess) Great location, site facilities and overall a nice property. Thanks so much we all had a great time!

Accommodation was of a good size and had most things needed for our stay.

Access to the property was via steps, as stated, but the pathway around the lodge to front door was quite uneven and not well maintained. Some aspects of the property are looking tired and would benefit from updating and there appears to be evidence of damp, in the downstairs rooms. However we really enjoyed the hot tub and found the site facilities very good and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

For what we paid this was excellant value The hot tub was a big hit and the kitchen lacked nothing having had a new washer/dryer fitted.

The freezer and fridge were in need of a defrost and for some reason the doors dont hang right. The toilet door with shower unit does not shut and the toilet seat needs refitting.The single parking space does not really exist but not critical as ample parking on site. This is not for the elderly or infirmed as some of the steps and climbs are too much I only include these for the benefit of the owner as this was generally clean and well stocked with all you would need and will go back as its ideally placed to explore cornwall.

After reading some negative reviews I was a bit apprehensive, however myself and my family found the lodge clean and comfortable and had all the necessities required, the large kitchen was very well stocked with crockery, cutlery and pans etc the only negatives would be the slight damp smell in the main bedroom which we assume is caused by the water when it over spills from the hot tub, apparently there is one parking space allocated to the lodge however other residents decided to park there even going as far as putting a traffic cone in the spot when they moved!

Think it would be an idea to put lodge number on allocated parking spot. The on site pub provided nice bar meals and the staff were very friendly. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay.

Having just returned from valley lodge 58 from a lovely week in Cornwall.

Ideal base for a stay. Lodge was spacious enough for 8 in the 4 rooms but the bedrooms are a tad cramped. Hot tub was amazing. Kids loved both pools. Pub onsite was nice and not bad value with a great selection of gin. Reception was really helpful. The management company were not the easiest to get hold of before our stay but Were great and really helpful while we were there. The lodge itself could do with a few tweaks but it didn’t stop us enjoying the stay, neither bathroom doors locked, one didn’t shut at all, carpets could use a deep clean as they are really good quality. Not convinced the bathrooms got cleaned prior to our stay as the cubicle was filthy (I’m not a neat freak and I found it grim! Anyone with high cleaning standards would hate it!) and both bathrooms full of cobwebs. That said the kitchen was spotless. Enough of everything Crockery, glass wear, towels etc for 8. Comfy beds, were offered clean towels mid stay. Will def return

The ease of booking and communication from Sykes was great.

Key lock entry made it really accessible at check in. The lodge location was perfect and we found the space to be clean and tidy. There were some improvements required for example, the washer did not work and the sink plug in the main bathroom was broken. I think the lodge would benefit from a little upgrade! But despite this we had a fantastic holiday, we were comfortable, hot tub amazing, facilities on the park were great and we would absolutely return!

Lovely lodge, spacious rooms, and great kitchen/diner.

Hot tub was amazing. Washing machine/dryer didn't work and when you've used towels after showering or hot tub it was difficult to get them dry. Also lodge is located on a hill so along with the steps to get to the lodge, not really suitable for people with mobility issues

Awful from the start, stained carpets, dirty babies dummy left, dirty sofa cushions, marks on the walls, bathroom door unable to close or open,TV and washing machine not working, broken wardrobe door handle, badly stained mattresses , toilet flush broke and fixed but then the toilet leaked and flooded the bathroom and carpet, smelt damp in the down stairs corridor, must I go on.

The maintenance team did respond, but honestly the amount we paid , will be looking for compensation!!

Washer didn’t work but fella offered us laundry service if we needed it but we found plenty of laundrettes.

Hot tub was amazing

When we arrived the Dishwasher was full of pots.

This was advertised with a washing machine too, well that wasn't even working and having two.kids and it raining most of the time during our stayed, that washing machine/dryer was much needed but was out of order.

I had no problem with Sykes or the booking itself.

the issue was the lodge. it was so dirty really mouldy and smelt very bad of mould and damp.alot of things were broken and it's clear it needs alot of attention. Sykes was great very informative the app is great. it was purely the lodge we were disappointed with.

Run down and unclean.

Damp issue and mould that could easily of been wiped left all over. Radiator leaked and lots of the light bulbs didn't work. Disappointed overall. Stated free WiFi but that's a lie. No WiFi available on the site atall and signal isn't great, no 4G. Left it cleaner then when we arrived. Parking is far away and hit and miss, only space for 3 cars, long and steep walk to the cottage. It was ok as a base, had the bare minimum to make it functional.

Car parking was not very good when we went out and came back our space had been taken.

We didn't think lodge had been deep cleaned as it should have been. Both showers were very poor, the fridge was not very clean inside, and the door racks had been screwed back with woodscrews and would not hold any bottles. Settees and beds were uncomfortable. All in all this lodge needs a thorough overall to get it back to the standard we have always had booking with Sykes. We will continue booking with Sykes as one as we have always had very good holidays in the past.

Very happy with the accommodation, the downstairs level where bedrooms were, was bigger than anticipated, lovely decor.

Everything you need in the kitchen My favourite part was the sitting room with a beautiful large french door leading to the balcony, comfortable, warm, plenty of sofas for the family to gather. Also our first private hot tub holidays, and think it will be difficult to go without on our next holidays, because that was such a plus !

The only thing i would advise people that is not in any listing, I have now stayed in two Lodges at Callington , just remember the upside down house/lodges seem to be a really good idea , but not in the morning when you have early risers all you can hear is the creaking floor and I mean its so loud you definitely can't get back to sleep, something to think about if you want a nice relaxing non early rise holiday.

We had a lovely time in lodge 58, The whole place was clean and tidy when we arrived and the hot tub was ready to use straight away.

There is not a lot around so i would advise doing a shop on your way otherwise its a drive to Callington but even that is not that far once you find the way!!! (we may have got a little lost!!!) There is no wi-fi in the lodge but there is up in the main house so its not like we couldn't get online when we needed and after all we were on holiday to relax and get away from it all, So we sat in the bar every night and checked in with email etc . . . What a shame we had to do that with a large Gin !!!! All in all we had a lovely time I would recommend booking Pentillie castle near St Mellion for an afternoon tea and walk around the grounds also the old steam fair was amazing. Thank you for a lovely holiday, We will be booking again.

We had a lovely time at this cottage, it was comfortable and had all that we needed.

The hot tub was especially good. However there was a few bad points, the first being the cottage needed a thorough deep clean. We needed to clean the majority of the kitchen before we used it and the cottage was in a general state of disrepair which is a real shame because it would be beautiful with a bit of TLC. If this was sorted we would definitely stay again !!

Lodge needs updating and new beds and settees Couple of issues we had were rectified asap by the owner and the maintenance staff (who was very friendly and helpful) but the main problem was damp downstairs in the bedrooms.

General comments - 1.

Bed mattresses very uncomfortable. 2. Indoor Decoration poor. 3. Outside ground floor patio in need of repair. 4. Outdoor paintwork needs attention. 5. General state of the cottage run down for start of the season. 6. Not withstanding the above we had a good holiday and would return to the site, but likely to request a different cottage. 7. On site staff very friendly and very helpful. 8. General site clean and tidy.

The issues we had with the cabin was the car park was so far away and with the steeps paths to the cabin this was a problem, the advert said about steeps paths and steps but a photo would of been handy.

I wouldn’t have booked this cabin if I would of known this. The trees nr the balcony need pruning as the view was looking into a dead tree and another tree which would of been nice if this had been pruned so we had the view of the valley. The main issue of the cabin was it smelt very bad once we came back every day. I think the carpet upstairs smelt like wet dogs, my personal opinion get rid of the carpet and put down a wooden floor with a rug.

Valley lodge 58 provided us with a fabulous central base for our holiday.

The property was clean and ready for us on arrival (including hot tub temperature). A very relaxed and dog friendly site including pub and entertainment . The kid loved the pool, tennis courts and games room. The information we recieved before arrival was very helpful, especially road closures.

No way did it say in the brochure that is WAS not suitable for people with mobility issues.

...the steps up to the lodge were very very steep and very uneven, especially trying to carry all the luggage and it was almost impossible for some of us with leg problems...I really think you should have said more about the accessibility up to the lodge, and when it was dark there was no lighting round back, could not see all the pot holes....this was just awful ....you should have checked this out ....the table could not be used as it was impossible to cook and eat at the same time....it was a really horrible holiday...we all hated the thought of going out and coming back...you needed to be a mountain goat, why did you not say all this in your brochure .....we paid a good money for this few days a way....don’t think we will use you again.

The location was perfect for going out to explore especially with dogs and if you enjoy walking, plenty to do for a week even in winte,r nearby we visited the Eden project and St Austell, Looe and found a lovely village in the Tamar Valley called Calstock 3 miles from Honicombe Manor.

The Honicombe Manor site had everything and was open over the Christmas/New year week the only day closed was New years day. All facillites were operating, an indoor swiming pool and fittness centre, resturant with good selection of pub style food and good size portions, a bar with good selection of wines, beer and spirits. We had a fantastic New years eve here the owners and staff very friendly and welcoming, loved it even more because dogs welcome. Will defintley go back again. I want to just say that the cabin we booked was so well stocked with pots and pans, lots of plates cups, glass ware we had dinner for 7 on New Years day which we cooked in the cabin the kitchen very well fitted out, all looks quite new with dishwasher and washer dyer in the kitchen . Rooms all freshly painted and very clean plenty of warm bedding and lovely views from the balconys front room. Hot tub was great fun and used lots by us, dogs walked every day on site and plenty of dog bins around.

The lodge was lovely and very clean.

Few comments to make it better though. The downstairs toilet intermittently kept running and making a noise, the mattresses on some of the beds may need replacing as there were a few complaints of feeling the wires/uncomfortable, could do with a new non stick frying pan and pan in the kitchen. Finally WIFI would be helpful in the lodge- I can’t decide whether it was nice to be without it for a week or not! The comments are not complaints just touches to make it even better- we had a lovely week. The pool and staff on the restaurant were great.

I think the lodges would benefit from a visitor guest book or feedback form in the properties.

That way we could have commented on how terrible the showers were but that they were the only thing that was a disappointment. Would also allow guests to suggest places they have visited - things to do or avoid. We had such a lovely holiday.

Cottage was very welcoming. Special touches on arrival of tea, coffee and biscuits was much appreciated, new installation of the washer dryer was lovely bonus. Hot tub was brill after a long day out. We had a few inquires and the owner and management team came back to us within the hour which was fabulous service. Would higher recommend this cottage for its peaceful and quite location and a lovely restaurant and facilities within the site. Reading all older reviews I can confirm that all the little niggles have been rectified. I would higher recommend this cottage and would definitely return. Thank you again for a lovely holiday.

The lodge is very tired both showers need looking at the extractor fans don't work so when you have a shower the steam fills the bathrooms the locks on the bathroom doors don't work all the down stairs room are wet/damp so your clothes are damp The hot tub needs attention as the lid lifter is broken some jets don't work and a cover over the pump inlet is missing Honicombe manor park is very tired and is more like a residential park than a holiday park The trees are that tall there is no view from any lodge This is one place we would not go to again

We loved our holiday in Cornwall and I will definitely return.

I would not go back to lodge 58 though. When we first arrived I was a bit worried when I seen the outside of the lodge. The weeds were quite high around the entrance and decked area and the wall was cracked. The outside decking and veranda area had not been swept or washed and cobwebs were everywhere. We had to buy air freshener to get rid of the musty smell in the lodge. The beds were very uncomfortable and even the kids were longing for their own beds by the end of the week. Where the park was situated was very isolated and you had to take the car whenever you wanted to venture out.

The lodge was good value for money.

It was clean and fit up to 8 people comfortably. The hot tub was a real highlight. The holiday park itself was basic but had a warm pool and the bar/restaurant was ok.

It was a great place to spend my sisters hen do weekend in, it had everything we needed, on the write up though it said we did not have a freezer or a dishwasher, but it did!

!! So a big bonus for us but it needed to be on the info so we could have then ordered more frozen food etc for our stay. We ordered a big Tesco shop and they were able to access the lodge easily too Log in time on the generic email siad 3pm but the owners on speaking to them said 4pm, so that was a little confusing, the lodges have only had access to wi-fi in the last twelve months, so it is best to check which lodges have it installed first if that is what you need etc! The on site bar and restaurant have wi-fi though which is only a 2 minute walk up the hill. A very good find :-)

Grandchildren had a wonderful time excellent location, lodge very comfortable and warm, but a few issues in shower room tiles coming off wall and shower surround coming off light wouldn’t say on went off half way through having a shower.

Bathroom with bath full of little spiders nest toilet took ages to fill , bathroom door difficult to open from the inside. Pulled blind down in kitchen full of dead moths etc so pulled it back up and didn’t pull down again . Kitchen tap very loose sink leaked a bit put a bowl underneath. I know these are only little issues but could be put right very quickly. We was going to write a comment in the visitors book but noticed all the pages ripped out. Bar was closed for a couple of days but didn’t bother us enjoyed the pool and hot tub .
