Cassia

This was our 5th visit to Penstowe.

It's great if you want a very quiet holiday. Wonderful stay at Cassia. Everything we needed and more from a welcome pack to a dog station. Comfy bed and lovely furnishings and an Alexa was nice to have as were the fans as it was hot. The Stowe is on Penstowe for a drink and a game of Pool, they also had food available. Nearby beaches only 3 or 5 miles away in Bude. Some dog friendly.On Somerleaze beach dogs can be off lead before 10am and after 6pm, which was helpful. Nice eateries to visit in Bude, Olive Tree on the canal and the Brendan Arms near the canal. Good walk along the canal to the Weir coffee shop/bistro. Couple of pubs in walking distance from Penstowe Park in Kilkhampton. We only went to the New Inn and had a nice meal outside, dogs only aloud outside but not on lawned area. Local Common also nearby and dogs can go off lead, however, steep walk downhill and very overgrown so impassable in places. On the whole a lovely weeks holiday.

Great position quiet and peaceful with lovely views.

Easy access to nearby facilities, beaches pubs etc. Bedding changed after a week which was appreciated during the heatwave as were the fans. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend CASSIA for a holiday.

My wife and I plus our two English bulldogs love this place, it is kept very clean and maintained very well, in an ideal place for peace and quite with a nice pub 3-4 min walk away.

It has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay and shops and take away food a 5 minute drive away. Was our second time here and have already booked for next year. My only suggestion would be to install a tv in the main bedroom and that would make everything perfect

The location of the chalet was very peaceful at this time however as soon as we opened the door there was a striong musty smell.

Whilst the bedding and towels were clean the chalet’s cleanliness needed attention. There were long black hairs in the bathroom (on the floor and in the shower) and the floor throughout needs a deep clean. If walking barefoot your feet were left quite dirty. If there had been cleaning materials I would have washed the floor myself. The outside area was comfortable but again it needs at least a good brush down. I always read reviews before booking and I obviously didn’t pay attention that this property has had no reviews since September 2025?

Lovely little bungalow, modern and stylish and comfortable facilities.

Very quiet as the children were all back to school, marvellous.Thought the Alexa was a great touch. Thank you.

We had a fabulous holiday and loved staying in the Cassia lodge.

The location was ideal for exploring nearby beaches and towns and Penstowe Park itself is very peaceful and relaxing. The lodge was well maintained and equipped with everything you need. I couldn’t fault it and would definitely recommend it.

Lovely 3 night stay at Cassia.

Lovely quiet location with easy access to lots of great places.The chalet itself was clean and tidy with plenty of kitchen utensils, plates, pans and glasses etc. The only thing, make sure you take an extra tea towel, cleaning cloths,and a sponge or brush for washing up. We’ve stayed at a lot of holiday homes and these are usually provided. Be aware that the walk to the chalet is up a short hill. Not a problem but be aware when you’re unloading! There is a service car park down the road behind the Manor House which you can use for loading and unloading which gives you easier access to Cassia. Overall, I great place to stay and I would recommend.

This was our 2nd stay at Cassia this year, quiet location, lots of lovely Countryside and easy access to the A39 for exploring further a field.

Property is well equipped, clean and ideal for couples, families with or without furry friends. An ideal base to explore Cornwall and a lovely enclosed decking area outside for those warmer Sunny days. We will be planning a return in the future next time we are heading down to Cornwall. Thank you!

A really lovely little cabin.

My partner and I and of course my dog stayed here for a week. The cabin was really well equipped. I would say pack a oven glove no oven glove. We.used a towel. The dog said thank you for the jar of biscuits. The cabin was clean except for the shower under the slip mat had hairs so I was joined by someone's long black hair. I know it wasn't mine my partner and I are blonde. But I was impressed with the cabin and bed was very comfortable. The local pub the red lion is dog friendly the manager loves dogs it is a comfortable pub really friendly the locals welcome you in and will have a good old chat. Also fuss the dog. My advice is park the car at the back of the pub you have in the grounds. To unpack and load up because the hill from the main car park to the cabin is a killer when trying to take your stuff in. The area around is lovely. We had a really lovely week. Thank you so much.

Twin room, bed to small for grown men , alright for children.

Nice property to stay, lots of fields for a dog.

Clean and tidy place definitely worth it a money and would go back again.

It’s very well appointed & in a fab location.

A great place to stay on our way home from Cornwall, spacious, welcoming, comfortable and clean.

The beds were well made and the towels were so soft, soft, soft. The only down side was we were not sure where on the site we could take the dogs, apart from that, a great experience.

The property is very clean and comfortable.

The owner replied and sorted out problem so quick.

Cassia is in a perfect quiet location, lots of lovely Countryside for dog walks and close to the A39 for exploring further a field.

The property itself is well equipped, clean and ideal for couples and families with or without a dog. We would very much like to return in the future, a perfect base whilst on holiday in Cornwall. Thank you!
