Nice self-catering let.

We did leave the BBQ cleaner than we found it but that's more the fault of a previous holidaymaker. This is a quiet site but is shared between holiday lets and longer term occupants so doesn't feel like a typical chaotic holiday campsite. Previous comments about dog friendliness seem unfair. You are asked to keep your dog on a lead and under control and you need to respect the space around other peoples' bungalows regardless of lack of fences. There are plenty of nearby walking opportunities and Rosecraddoc woods 5 minutes walk away are an ideal location for offlead ball games.

The bungalow itself was nice, well equipped.

From the listing we understood that it has a fenced garden, but it didn't. We booked it because it was a dog friendly bungalow. Dogs were our priority. The site the bungalow is located isn't very dog friendly. As we didn't have a private garden the dogs had to be on the lead all the time. There are no walking paths, one bin for the dog waste, on the entrance to the site, so many restrictions for a holiday place. Also the information is in very small print on the entrance, when you are passing with the car you can barely see it. As we have not seen the restrictions, we let the dogs off and one of them barked at passers-by, with no time we were told off by the site owner, threaten with all sorts of consequences including early departure. We were also told that he saw as on the camera, so for the rest of the stay we didn't really feel comfortable knowing that every our step is watched. The only place you could let the dogs off lead was a very small woodland about 10 minutes away. We ended up driving to the beach every day to give the dogs some freedom. Overall nice place but not for dogs owners.

Much enjoyed my Easter w/e stay in the bungalow.

All facilities as described and although hob not working Charlie arrived promptly following t/c but unable to fix issue.

Absolutely awful.

Dirty and a smell of damp throughout the whole property that was strong enough it contaminated all our belongings. Mold spores on the ceiling and on the curtains -we have photos of the dirt and damp and the mold spores. We left after 4 days. So many spiders also, because spiders love the damp.. so if you don't like spiders as a room mate definitely don't book here. According to sykes owner didn't respond to their requests to discuss our complaint. Sykes themselves were unhelpful and slow to respond. Can not express strongly enough how terrible it was here. We cleaned it ourself on arrival but you can't get rid of pervading smell of damp. Outside equipment (bbq) was also filthy and unusable.

Very good for the price but getting pretty tired maybe that was just because it's getting near the end of season

A two week stay.

Good and bad, first bad. Could do with some internal updating, kitchen units and worktops, some localized decoration, update seating provided. Outside could do with a pressure clean for paved areas, clean or repaint the outside. Good points. Basically clean and hygienic, 3 TVs for lounge and both bedrooms, good free WiFi, did not expect to find air fryer and slow cooker as well as overnight and hob. Good towels and bedding, cleaning products provided, peacefull location. All in all worth the price but would only return if interior updated a bit. Overall happy with our stay.

The cottage was not clean, I can provide photos.

We contacted the owner to request a non slip mat for the shower and to express our concern around the mould in areas and no one came to see us. We had to buy our own slip mat for the shower. We paid allot of money and feel very disappointed that after spending over £1000 and our first holiday in over 8 years we were met with a holidya home filled with mould not cleaned and no one on hand to support.

We have stayed at 3 different properties at Rosecraddoc now.

Unfortunately this one was our least favourite. There were dog hairs present and some staining on the furniture and bedding.

We had a lovely week.

The cottage was really nice with good facilities.

Fabulous location so many lovely places to visit and walk dogs.

Peace heaven is set in lovely grounds which are well looked after. There is No enclosed garden for dogs . Sadly within the holiday village dogs must be on leads at all times even if very well trained. Peace heaven was not spotlessly clean but comfortable and well equipped. The shower was amazing super comfortable beds . We picked our daily 8mile walks & places to visit from the Bodmin moor map provided at peace heaven. Owners kindly left a cake & milk for us on arrival.

Lovely places to stay, everything you needed was provided.

Only thing I would say that the cleaners should really do a proper job as I found empty crisp packets under the sofa and half eaten dog treats .

Not very dog friendly can’t go on grass.

At night no lights it’s blacker than black couldn’t take dog out after 8:00. Not good won’t be going back

Fabulous weekend, lovely stay, comfy beds, great fishing.

Clean, tidy, cosy accommodation with everything you need. The carrot cake on arrival was a lovely touch. Would come again.

Only one little hiccup, quickly resolved by Charlie. Cake, milk and extras greatly appreciated. Weather was good, we shall return, thank you

The holiday lodge was in reasonable state and the list of amenities were not specific to our lodge it was a general list provided for all the lodges, as we took our dogs with us we weren’t expecting that they weren’t allowed on the grass we had to walk them up to a near by wood to let run on long leads so we won’t be recommending this to friends or family especially if they have a dog.

When we found it eventually the post code from Sykes and owner were old.

Cups were dirty with tea stains dirty pillow cases washing up bowl was greasy and arrival and departure info had different times. I think the photos of Peacehaven should be updated as they give a false impression of the property

Property was clean and comfortable, plenty of kitchen utensils so could cook without any problems.

Lovely holiday home in a very nice location.

Thank you for the thoughtful welcome gift of milk and a scrummy carrot cake. Most appreciated. The cottage is clean and well stocked and just right for a family of 4 adults. The beds are clean and comfortable, and the sofa is quite possibly the most comfortable thing I have sat/lounged on in a long time. Love that there is a tv in each room and you are able to sign into your own streaming services. The Wifi/Broadband is very fast and we had no connections problems at all. The kitchen has everything you need, including tongs! (so many places don't have tongs! pet peeve/quirk of mine) The stove was easy to use, but I was grateful for the instructions inside the cupboard door. Could do with another baking tray, but again thats a personal preference, and I managed quite well with what was there. I like that there is a washing machine and I could take clean clothes home. The only slight negative comment I have is the shower drain could be checked more regularly. It was very slow to drain so I pulled it out and it was full of slimy decaying hair and soap from previous visitors. I cleaned it and the shower drained perfectly after that. The holiday village itself is lovely, clean, tidy and very well maintained, and perfectly located to explore the surrounding area. I would highly recommend Peacehaven and would stay again if I was holidaying in that area.

Dirty pillowcases and shabby looking duvet covers.

The ceramic hob did not function and the pots and pans were so old and chipped we didn't use them. It was budget but that's no excuse for such neglect. We wont be visiting again...But the WiFi was Good

The stay was lovely in peaceful surroundings once found.

The property was in a good condition, although some of the fixtures and fittings needed a little tlc. Overall it was a great holiday in lovely surroundings.

Well organised and superb value for money.

The Chalet was a little tired at the end of the season, some mould here and there, a torn net curtain, no washing up liquid, little things that didn't detract from the stay. The spare bedding and other things we didn't need made the storage spaces a bit cluttered, but that didn't bother us. Overall a comfortable, peaceful, restul place. We thouroughy enjoyed our stay.

Having read the reviews for this property, we mistakenly decided to trust the owners comments that the damp issues had been fixed within the property and a new cleaner hired (plus new damp proof measures).

I can categorically tell you that there is an unmistakable stench of damp inside this property. It permeates every aspect of the property meaning you cannot put clothes in wardrobes, and we didn’t even allow our son to sleep in one bedroom instead deciding to give him the rear bedroom and double bed due to the smell being stronger in the front (meaning my husband and I slept in twin beds). I contacted Sykes after visiting the property, but they were worse than useless with any kind of resolution. I wouldn’t recommend visiting this property especially if you have children. We all left with heavy chests that lasted for weeks afterwards. We didn’t approach the owners during our stay as we had many activities already planned which meant we were out early and back late most days. I was also unable to see how the issue could be resolved aside from leaving and returning home as it was literally the entire building that smelt so we grinned and bared it. I will say, they clearly have updated cleaners as the surfaces were clean and there wasn’t any dirt around, just a dozen or so spiders which we didn’t mind.

Great little bungalow, very quiet site ….

Cleanish, (cobwebs behind tvs on walls) , tidy and very comfortable…. Issues- shower needs handle it fits on replacing as it doesn’t hold the shower head properly so you’re better off using it free hand. One bin in the whole place!….situated in the kitchen, none in bedrooms or bathroom. The microwave!!…. Aweful, rusty inside and I would no way use it!!… Patio door has piece of plastic that constantly pops out when using, easy fix but not been done! Not enamoured with the fact there’s a camera outside the front door that constantly photographs you as soon as it sees movement, I have the same camera so I know it records also!… not on photos on booking but definitely there! ( I appreciate security but not comfortable with someone reviewing my movement on holiday !) If these simple and cheap things were done then it would be perfect

Sadly the accommodation was not the cleanest .

Spiders and cobwebs in every room . Pubic hairs around the hinge on the toilet seat . Black curly hairs in the bath. Black condensation mould in the bedroom window. Musty smelling towels . Damp smell throughout the bungalow. I have emailed the owner who had replied regarding the matter .

This cottage is ideally situated for exploring east Cornwall - Looe, Polperro, Fowey, Charlestown, Cawsand and even Mevagissey.

It’s situated on a lovely quiet site, with nice outdoor space. The big tv is great for when you return from exploring, and the wifi is excellent. The cottage is well equipped. There was an issue of cleanliness, particularly in the kitchen. I raised this with the owner and hopefully that has since been addressed. I enjoyed my stay.

I would like to report that the shower on/off pull switch didn't work and the table lamp in the lounge didn't work.

Also there was no clear explaination about rubish disposal,there was refuse in the weelie bin from previous and there were no black bags. Other than that the cottage was fabulous and I couldn't have asked for more. Excellent cottage on a beautiful site.

IT WAS NOT VERY CLEAN AT ALL YOU COULD NOT OPEN THE WINDOWS THERE WAS NO KEY FOR THEM THE WIFI WAS NOT WORKING.

Our suspicions were raised with the overpowering smell of air freshener, this was to mask the damp smell that lingered throughout our stay.

On inspection of the bed linen, we found stains and hairs in all the beds meaning that we had to purchase our own bed linen the following day. The carpets had not been hoovered thoroughly, they were full of dog hair and we also found a hair band full of hair next to one of the beds. There was mould on the floor of the kitchen, next to the fridge and the shower curtains were filthy. We were very disappointed with the accommodation as the pictures on the site did not represent the true picture of the place. As a consequence, we spent minimal time at the accommodation. We have evidence of all this through pictures and video. We will not recommend using this company to any of our family or friends.

Mould in every room Mouldy shower curtain Sink leaks across the floor Rug smelt so foul we had to put it in the spare room Had to wash the towels Had to buy cleaning products to clean floor with after moving rug as it smelt so foul still Had to buy Reed diffusers to help with the smell in whole property Bath only had enough hot water for 4 inches of bath water Sofa cushions stunk of dog First aid kit 11 years out of date Mop completely mouldy so couldn’t clean up without buying our own cleaning products Strange whirring noise in the master bedroom overnight We intended on putting our suitcase in the spare room but it smelt so stale we had to keep it in the lounge It’s probably been left closed up all winter as no guests due to covid and has just become a damp dingey mould breeding ground I’m pregnant and felt unsafe in the bathroom due to the mould unless I kept all window and the door wide open The fire extinguisher was last checked 2006.

Lovely place and well situated with some great pubs quite close.

Only regret was that the bar/restaurant on site wasn’t open which was a shame

I am afraid to say that Peacehaven is the worst place we have stayed at with your company.

It was smelly due to damp and everytime we came back from a day out the smell nearly knocked you out!. Also the same in the bedrooms,( which actually were worse). We opened the windows to try to help with the musty smell and the condensation and although it was better while the windows were open when they were shut back up again to go out it was just as bad when we came back. The mould was awful above the main bedroom window and the net curtains were also mouldy. The whole place was covered with spider webs and there was even a tissue left under the bed!! On the good side, The furnishings were good and the beds were comfy and the pans and dishes etc were good.

Beautiful location, small stream one side and woods on the other, peaceful and well kept gardens all round.

The accommodation was lovely and was well equipped, outside was patio table and chairs, bbq (although we did not use this), even a rotary line! The best place to eat we found was the Cheesewring Inn at Minions, their menu was vast and good size portions, excellent food and excellent value for money. Yes I would definately stay at Peacehaven again.

The bungalow was lovely.

No problems at all. Our only complaint was the on site pub listed has been closed for over a year. We were told nothing to do with Covid. We couldn't find the footpath to the Crows Nest but found it was a couple of miles away anyway. So unless you're happy staying sober and driving around there is nothing there or close by. Can't fault the accommodation though, lovely place.

..the site was nice and quiet which is what we wanted . It would of been nice if the bar was open onsite but wasn’t unfortunately. The bedding was a bit dated that could easily be changed to White and dressed with any colour. Unfortunately the chairs was really uncomfortable,e which didn’t help my sciatica, and could do with updating, The lodge had everything you needed but due to being a holiday letter myself I felt it unfair to add comments about other things that was out of their control if no one says anything. I hope that the owner has adressed the issue, it’s the little things that make a big difference

Great place we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, the local pub The Village Inn has been shut all season, this was not disclosed to us as we may have chosen another location.

There are no facilities for dog waste on the site unless you use the other holiday village next door, which had not been emptied for some time.

Enjoy our holiday lovely holiday park only down fall would have appreciated being told the village Inn the pub on the park wasn't open made things little harder for food and drink had to lot off traveling.

Overall very good value and truely a "Peacehaven" Convenient to local area and beauty spots alike.

Lighter weight Duvets would be good for the summer months and I am sorry to say the existing ones need replacing, shabby and discoloured. Fortunately we didn't need to use the BBQ as it had not been cleaned out by the previous user. However, despite the slightly negative comments, we were very pleased and had a very enjoyable week. We would come back.

Peacehaven is in a lovely setting and i found central for my needs.

The owner supplied all the things that help make your holiday tv in each room Blu-ray player and certainly i found it nice and warm. This was my second visit and if I travel this way again I would certainly consider booking again

Nice sized bungalow, sadly suffering badly with damp (previous comments on being fausty) and now overkill on air fresheners to the point of twin bedroom door kept shut because the aroma was overpowering.

Shower not working, one of the most uncomfortable sofas I have ever sat on ( maybe because it was a sofa bed ) cushions would disappear in the bed frame, dyson dirt collector catch broken and I am not sure what decade it was last emptied, tv controller could sometimes test your patience. Second year at this site but wouldn't stay here again, should have booked Streamside when I had the chance.

When we arrived there was a pint of milk and a packet of milk chocolate digestives waiting for us .

A very welcome and nice touch . Peacehaven is a nice lodge and plenty of room for 4 people and our Leonberger . The owners had everything in there that you could possibly need for human and dog. . The site was well maintained with plenty of space for us to walk our dog . The Village Inn just up the drive way was a nice place to relax and have some dinner , they are dog friendly and staff were friendly and helpful. When we walked into the lodge it smelt very musty and damp. Every room had damp in it . I am asthmatic and was having to use my inhaler every day, not something I usually have to do. The rest of my family are not but even they were suffering from the damp. The only light working in the twin room was the main light even though there were 2 wall lights and a lamp as well. The tap in the bathroom constantly dripped. We discovered that the sofa was a sofa bed which my daughter could use instead of her camp bed. The sofa had clearly not been moved for a while to be cleaned underneath as was quite dusty and dirty. She pulled out some duvets from the bedroom cupboard to sleep on as the sofa bed was quite hard, they were stained. There was old food in the cupboards, the outside rubbish bin was full, not a big issue had the rubbish been bagged, but it stank!. Bin day is Friday. As most people leave on a Saturday then I think that would be a better day to collect the rubbish. The light on the outside of the lodge on the driveway side did not work as the bulb was broken. There are streams flowing either side of the site which could explain why the lodge, and most likely every other lodge on the site, suffers from damp. A holiday is what you make of it so all in all we had a pretty good one, however, due to the damp issue we will not be going to this particular place again.

Agree with the previous comments regarding smell of mould.

Overall a good holiday though and the site was well kept.

Felt they could of left instructions of how to use oven, tv etc.

The bedroom was very small to get round at the bottom of the bed

Had to leave half way through my holiday due to damp and mould in bedrooms effecting my wife's health old food left in cupboard out of date by years, fire extinguisher aslo out of date by 9 years and would not work if required, outside rubbish bin was full had nowhere to put rubbish,

It was a good holiday an ideal base for touring good walks for the dogs near the bungalow.

The dogs settled in straight away.

The bungalow is in a very nice setting furniture is comfortable and the feel is cosy.

The welcome email from the owner is very helpful and the welcome goodies are very handy after a long journey. I did find the electric hob tricky with push buttons but i am more familiar with gas. Overall good value follow the owners driving directions once in close proximity as satnav takes you astray.

Needed airing smelt musty

The facilities were brilliant, every concievable situation catered for 10+ for the owners One small concern which did not detract from our holiday in any way was the presence of damp in the property which the owners are probably fully aware of as the bathroom flooring is evidence of this, so when you went out for the day and on arrival there was a musty smell to the place when you opened the door I think the attention to detail from the owners is the best I have ever encountered and would definitley use again as I think their mindset appears to be to do everything they can to make sure you enjoy your holiday

Had an amazing, very needed holiday!

! Very impressed with peacehaven, owner had thought of everything required to make us comfortable, we didn't want to come home, neither did our dog Marnie!! Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to book again thankyou!!!

We thought it was just excellent the village was spectacular beyond our expectations we found the beds a little to firm but that would be or only criticism the ready was spectacular

The location is quite and relaxing.

A little bit difficult to find.

Better directions would be helpful.
