Under Oak Pod

I just loved my holiday in Under Oak Pod, it is literally set in a field of sheep which forms the backdrop to the peaceful rhythm of staying in the pod.

The pod is very spacious and light filled with all mod cons - underfloor heating, comfy bed, double shower. The hot tub is great too and we sat around the fire pit on two nights. It is like luxurious camping and I was very sad to leave.

.. what more can you ask for! We loved our stay at the pod. We like to be out everyday and with so much to do in the local area, it's the perfect base for us. 100% recommend and will be looking to book again

We had such a lovely stay at Under Oak Pod.

It’s peaceful, really well thought out, and just felt like the perfect spot to relax and recharge. The pod itself was spotless and had everything we needed for a cosy break — underfloor heating, a fire pit, and a big decked area that made it easy to enjoy the setting. The hot tub was a definite highlight — ideal after a day out exploring. No TV for us was a plus too so we could really switch off. The owners were brilliant — super helpful and full of great suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Breakfast at Ring Feeder was one of their tips and it didn’t disappoint. It’s also dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. Fynn loved it — plenty of space for him to settle in and stretch his legs, and it was clear dogs are genuinely welcome. The surrounding area is very dog friendly too, with loads of lovely walks nearby. We left feeling totally recharged and already talking about when we might come back.

Just back from a fantastic stay at the Under Oak pod, it is brilliant, really beautifully thought out, great amenities, the hot tub is fab addition.

Little touches like tie up points for the dogs and the large decking to admire the views it really great. The pod itself is spacious easily accommodated myself and my two kids aged 10 and 7. Can’t recommend enough and we will be back next year

I recently spent a few days in Under Oak Pod nestled on a quiet farm, and it was the perfect escape from the noise and busyness of everyday life.

From the moment we arrived, I was struck by the peaceful surroundings—rolling fields, gentle breezes, and the sounds of nature. The pod itself was spotlessly clean, cozy, and beautifully designed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were really nice. One of the highlights was the hot tub. Soaking in warm bubbles under the open sky—especially in the evenings which we really enjoyed that especially my daughter. I recommend this place to all my family members and anyone who seek for calmness.

When booking a holiday, we were looking for somewhere private, relaxing, with pretty scenery, that was close to things to do/places to see - somewhere that felt a world away from the busy city lives that we’re used to.

We found that the Under Oak Pod fitted the brief perfectly - we had the best time. The Pod itself is situated at the bottom of a track - further down from the main camping site. This made it feel even more private, which was nice. Inside, the Pod was spotless. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot, and everything was available that we needed for self-catering. Thought has gone into the matching decor inside - the grey/yellow and sheep theme is a nice touch. On sheep, they make nice neighbours and we liked watching them coming up to the fence on sunny evenings. There was herd of white cattle too, and they formed part of the scenic countryside view that we enjoyed looking out on. We admired the view and the summer evenings from the hot tub, which worked perfectly. The temperature was spot on and it was easy to use. A hot tub was a prerequisite for us when choosing a place to stay, and the Under Oak’s was great. One thing that struck us was just how peaceful it all was. We were blessed with good weather, and sitting outside the Pod in the sun with a morning coffee was just total relaxation. Also outside, we had dinners, cooked on a barbecue down by the fire-pit area, and, on one still evening, we even played a board game. It was perfect. Location wise, the Under Oak Pod is great too. It is in driving distance of pretty much anywhere that you’d like to go in the area for a day-trip - in our case, Torquay, Paignton, Salcombe, and of course Totnes - which is a worthwhile fifteen minute journey for one-off gift and book shops, fudge, and a cheese shop. We found the owners to be extremely welcoming and hospitable. The hard work that they have put into the Under Oak Pod is shown by just how wonderful it is. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic, relaxing getaway, with the opportunity to explore or to just unwind within Devon’s beautiful countryside.
