Great location, peaceful, good facilities.

The actual lodge was amazing; lots of space, excellent condition, and a perfect cosy feeling. Fresh bread, bacon and eggs on arrival was a nice surprise. Pets were made to feel very welcome with their own "goody box" of treats and toys.

Very pleased with both the lodge and the Burnbake campsite.

Lodge 17 is considerately located for one’s privacy. In semi-woodland we enjoyed watching the wildlife and listening to the cockoo. Although our stay was in a school holiday period and the campsite was busy, we didn’t feel that those camping nearby in anyway encroached on us. We’ll be back.

One of those places is the bustling coastal town of Swanage, found by taking just a 15-minute drive from these Burnbake Forest lodges. Swanage has long been a hotspot for tourists and holidaymakers thanks to the ever-popular Swanage Beach (recipient of 23 consecutive Blue Flag awards) as well as the Santa Fe Fun Park that’s brilliant for visitors of all ages! Why not enjoy a piece of history and visit the Swanage Railway, a heritage steam train offering scenic rides through the Purbeck countryside?

On the other hand, the thriving town of Bournemouth can also make for an excellent place to visit from Burnbake. Here, you'll find the famous Sandbanks Beach that’s home to countless celebrities as well as a bustling town centre with loads of great shops, pubs and restaurants. Look forward to strolling along Bournemouth Pier, home to a thrilling zip lining attraction, offering you a truly unforgettable view across the town and coast.

However, if you have enough time, we’d highly recommend taking a ferry across to Brownsea Island where you’ll find a visitor centre and castle to explore whilst taking in the stunning sea views. The island is also home to one largest populations of red squirrels; see if you can spot one.
