What guests are saying
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay.
The house is beautifully decorated. Location is perfect with the beach a short walk away. Would stay again!
We loved staying at Highpoint Lodge.
It is such a beautiful property and is so well appointed. Everything was spotlessly clean. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable There was everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable holiday. It is in a fantastic location within Lyme Regis but is so quiet and peaceful at night. The garden is a little sun spot and we enjoyed spending time relaxing there. We would be very happy to stay there again and highly recommend.
I would have loved to give more stars here because the accommodation is very well maintained, clean, well equipped and the beds that we were able to use were also clean and comfortable.
The shower was the best shower in any self-catering accommodation that I have stayed in. Furthermore, if the below issues were addressed we would love to return here regularly. The double bedroom in the attic conversion was totally unusable due to the heat. Plastic venetian blinds do not keep heat or light out. These windows need proper black out blinds to keep out the heat and the light. Also, fan(s) should have been available in this accommodation especially since all the bedrooms receive many hours of direct sunlight and neither the curtains nor the blinds are lined with black out/heat absorbant linings - it was very difficult to keep the house cool. My daughter (28 yrs and her partner 6ft 6", slept in the children's room because the attic conversion was unusable) this was far from ideal. It would also be good to have a parasol for some shade in the garden. Unfortunately, the 'drain odours' in the hall, bedrooms and bathroom were difficult to ignore. (We thought this would be fixed once an external water leak was fixed by the water board). Finally, there is a very unpleasant odour emanating from the new sofas. We kept curtains drawn thinking it might be the sunlight causing the reaction - but this did not help. These smells were unsettling. We bought a reed infuser with essential oils to try and mask the odours. This wasn't hugely effective.
