Description

This luxurious studio style couples retreat is the perfect place for relaxing and unwinding. Set in 13 acres of beautiful private countryside and woodland which is home to an array of wildlife, this is the perfect place to escape busy lives and reconnect with nature - whilst remaining just 1.5 miles from the thriving town of Wimborne and a short walk from a beautiful picture postcard thatched pub and restaurant. Pheasant lodge provides a wonderful studio space with a comfortable sofa from which to watch your favourite films or just take in the view. Resting behind the lounge area is a sumptuous king size bed with Egyptian cotton linen and bedside lighting. There is a modern bathroom with double shower and Egyptian cotton towels, bathrobes and slippers. The kitchen area is well equipped with inside and outside dining options for enjoying a romantic meal. Alternatively, why not fire up the BBQ or pizza oven in your enclosed, unoverlooked garden and take advantage of the beautiful outdoor setting. A perfect evening can be spent watching the birds, wildlife including wild deer, from the relaxing, bubbling hot tub as the sun sets, then star gazing as darkness falls. Alternatively light the chimenea and enjoy the peace and tranquility. Make sure you leave time to explore the beautiful grounds. Sit around one of the firepits and toast some marshmallows while listening to bird song and enjoying the tranquil surroundings or challenge your partner to a fun game of croquet or giant Jenga.

Discover the footpaths outside the grounds leading to nature reserves in one direction and The Stour Valley Way with river walks and Wimborne in the other direction. Sample one of the many restaurants, bars and cafes in Wimborne, a haven for foodies, or explore the independent shops and the beautiful Minster.

In Wimborne discover the National Trust property of Kingston Lacy, an Italian style manor house with a large collection of Egyptian artefacts and art and beautiful grounds including Japanese gardens and fantastic spring bulb displays. Head a little further along the same road to discover the old hill fort of Badbury Rings or explore Cranborne Chase AONB.

Just 9 miles from Pheasant Lodge will take you to the famous Sandbanks beach and the small ferry where the South West Coast path begins at the National Trust owned Studland peninsula. Why not head to Poole Quay and take a boat trip around Poole Harbour or along the stunning Jurassic Coast or take a 20 minute drive to The New Forest for more exploring.

Other nearby activities include: leisure centre and swimming pool, climbing centre, kayaking, golf, tennis

Pheasant lodge is an idyllic holiday retreat located in the Dorset countryside yet close to amenities and within easy reach of numerous tourist attractions.

Please note: The grounds are shared with the owners and just one other lodge but Pheasant lodge is very private and un-overlooked.

This lodge can be booked with Deer Lodge (1038027) subject to availability.

My wife and I had a wonderful week staying in Pheasant Lodge.

The lodge and grounds are lovely and nice and private. We made full use of the hot tub, it was wonderful seeing the wildlife whilst having a warm soak. The location was also excellent for exploring East Dorset including Poole and Swanage. A nice pub a couple of minutes walk away was also brilliant. All told we had a lovely time and would highly recommend a stay here. Mark & Julia
