“One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in over the years.”

Very peaceful and tranquil with lovely views over the countryside. Very relaxing stay with plenty of places to visit within a few miles of the cottage. We enjoyed the pheasant visiting us every day to say "Hello" . Thank you Sarah for a lovely week in Essex.

“We had a wonderful stay at Holm Oak Lodge it was a true home from home experience.”

The property was very comfortable and spacious. We particularly loved the many window seats. The one in the kitchen was really beautiful to sit in whilst having our morning coffee. A wonderful find with idyllic views. Sarah was a fabulous host and hope to return one day.

“A lovely, quiet retreat and a welcoming owner made this a very pleasant stay in a very interesting area.”

Not far to the sandy beaches of Walton on the Naze and Holland-on-sea and nature reserves nearby at the Stour and Colne estuaries. The city of Colchester is worth a visit as are the Beth Chatto gardens.

“Sarah is a very kind and helpful host who will give recommendations of where to eat in the local area.”

The lodge is set in a beautiful location; easy to travel to different parts of Essex and over the border into Suffolk. As this accommodation has only been available from April this year, it's well-furnished and comfortable. I highly recommend this lovely lodge for all seasons.
