Further afield, spend a day in Bournemouth, where you can wander along the seven-mile stretch of golden sand while nearby attractions include the Oceanarium, Bournemouth Pier, and the gardens and beach huts of Boscombe.

Lovely find , they have thought of everything , the attention to detail for this gorgeous cosy Shepherds Hut is perfect.
Welcome pack included milk , juice , also tea/coffee , chocolates + Prosecco awaiting is a lovely touch also fresh eggs from the chicken neighbours. The hot tub is fantastic and is nicely secluded from the lane with plenty of towels and gowns provided. The local pub is very close and very friendly and lovely food. Would definitely return
A lovely hut in a beautiful village with some great chickens for company!
We were impressed by the privacy and the hot tub, as well as acces to a bbq and a firepit. We liked the ammenities on offer there, although a guide on how to work the hob, etc, would be great. The water pressure was good and the temperature was nice and hot. The bed was comfortable and the space works well. The surrounding areas are gorgeous and there is lots to do and see. Overall, would definitely stay here again.

Myself and my husband spent the most perfect week here, such relaxation and comfort, with everything provided that you would need, aswell as a couple of welcomed treats like fresh eggs, oj, prosecco and chocolate!! The hut is very comfortable, we slept so well every night in the king-size bed! The kitchen is a decent size for two people, the bathroom perfect, and the added bonus of the BBQ was very welcome! The attention to detail was spot on, for example lovely big bath sheets, nice soft bedding and dressing gowns that were crisp and white for when you step out of the lovely hot tub!! There isn't anything that we didn't love about our stay, so much so we immediately booked to return next year. On a final note the owners are on hand to help with anything needed and were helpful and friendly without being intrusive! Oh and loved the chickens!!

Wonderful stay in The Happy Hut, the bed was so comfy I didn't want to get up each morning.
Loved the hot tub and had a chat to the chickens every morning. Great base for days out and walks, so much to do around the area. Bonus is the Woolpack pub at the end of the lane which serves delicious food. Only slight downside was the traffic noise, you can't see the road from the hut but at times it was noisy but after a while we got used to it and you couldn't hear it inside the hut. Fab week away?

Booked for 6 nights in July 2026.
Upon arrival bins next to the Shepherds Hut. (Food bin not clean or emptied) A chicken run the entire length of the property. Not good for hygiene. The road noise very loud & constant. The outside area very neglected. Broken chairs & very unkempt. Left after 3 nights after contacting the owner about the hygiene issues inside & out.

We only stayed one night, but it was very comfortable, private, and ideal for the two of us.

Our stay at the Happy Hut was an absolutely amazing experience, the facilities were fantastic and the cleanliness was second to none.
Everything was provided and extras including the BBQ and jacuzzi ready to use if we needed them. The pub was well within walking distance which was also fantastic.
Absolutely loved the happy hut, was a great little place to rest after our wedding and recharge.
The chickens were on form and lovely to be around, the hot tub was amazing and a great way to relax. We met the guys checking the hot tub on the 2nd day which was good as it showed the cleanliness was kept up through out, even while we were still there. Would highly recommend anyone wanting a quiet and quirky break to visit this place. Loved it
This is the best UK break we have had the Happy hut is amazing and the area is just beautiful with so many attractions and beaches on your doorstep.
We also thought Christchurch had some great bars and restaurants with a chilled out vibe. We had one of the most relaxing breaks and I would recommend the Happy hut to anyone

What a fabulous little find.
Everything you could ask for and more. From the wonderful "freebies" to the slippers, robes, blankets and general feel of the place, all immaculate, welcoming and cosy. The setting is beautiful. We didn't leave our little bubble of birdsong, swaying trees, chickens and hot tub. Simply soaked in the beauty and total relaxation. We always go away this time of year for a couple of nights, somewhere not too far away, a hot tub is a must. This is without question the best so far. We will most definitely be back next year.

Thank you for your lovely comments. Apologies if you have heard some road noise, we did have to cut down some damaged trees last year in the woods opposite but have re-planted and so this will hopefully hide any future noise.
It was the best week away!
!! The fresh eggs and bottle of prosecco just immediately added to our amazing experience! The hot tub was checked daily and the fire place was a real treat in the evenings, we also got some more firewood on top of our complimentary for a good price. Everything you could need is supplied which was very helpful. Thank you so much for the experience the chickens were a nice touch to!!

Absolutely wonderful, so cute and cosy.
We stayed for a wedding at Sopley Mill, took us a minute to walk there. Loved the little touches inside the hut and the chats with the chickens outside. We were disappointed that The Woolpack pub was closed due to flooding, even though they had accepted our booking for an evening meal. We arrived and it was in darkness! We would like to return sometime.
Absolutely fantastic lication and experience
We had a fantastic time at the Happy Hut, the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Made easy by the hot tub and cosy vibes. We had quite a significant amount of rainfall, which didn't detract from how much fun we had, if anything, it made the place even more magical. The owner is very helpful and provided some arrival goodies. We would happily stay here again.

Me and my wife both loved it from the hut to the hot tub and our lovely little neighbours. Everything was thought of from the arrival gifts to the blankets , slippers and robes . We also visited the Woolpack inn for some lovely home cooked food . We can’t recommend the happy hut enough, we will definitely be back for another weekend as soon as we can
We visited the happy hut for my partners 30th birthday weekend away and it's safe to say we absolutely loved it there it was peaceful, clean, cosy and everything you could want for a weekend away, Would definitely recommend to others and would love to return for another weekend away in the future!

Jusy returned home after spending 6 nights in the happy hut, and yes we had an amazing time we was greeted by Alan the host off which we asked if he could suggest places to visit which he kindly wrote down for us,we visited them all and was not dissapointed we also visited Hythe which i would recommend.
The Happy Hut has it all there is nothing that is not missed out fom Preseco, Slippers, Dressing gown but above all the Hot Tub which we went in every night come rain to minus 2 degrees. my wife and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND a visit. Regards Arthur, Mary.
What a find!
The Happy Hut was everything and more. We had an incredible three nights just relaxing and felt fully recharged at the end of our stay. Perfect location for doing everything or nothing. We will most certainly be back!
Stayed for a few nights over a weekend with my partner, really lovely place to stay, it was extremely comfortable, cosy and romantic.
The hot tub was very welcome with the long days walking around and exploring, the long journey there to find a really nice welcome back including eggs, juice, milk, prosecco and many more was a very very nice touch! The host was attentive and respectful of privacy, overall a lovely little gem with a beautiful pub down the road, a perfect little base to hang your hat after a long day exploring! Would love to come again!

It is such a lovely place to stay. Very clean, tidy and warm. With little touches all around the hut and outside. Everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Really appreciated the treats that the owners left for us to use. We visited the pub The Woolpack just down the road, which was friendly and the food was good value. Would definitely go back to The Happy Hut for another stay.

The accomodation was fabulous and perfectly placed for the wedding we attended at Sopley Mill.
The welcome pack of chocolates, prosecco, eggs, milk etc was also a lovely surprise, and a dip in the hot tub made for a lovely end to our first evening after a long drive.We would highly reccomend the Hut to anyone wanting a chilled and relaxing break. Scott & Sandie

I had the most delightful few days escape at the Happy Hut on my own.
Felt very safe and secure as the Hut is set in a lovely wooded garden compound, behind a locked gate. The quality of the accommodation is exceptional and every facility was there. Comfy bed, constant hot water, good heating and an amazing shower. All clean and well maintained with lots of thoughtful extras, almost too many to mention. As it was autumn, didn't avail myself of the hot tub, firepit or BBQ but these would be lovely in summertime. The little treats were an added surprise - Prosecco, chocs, fresh eggs, orange juice. I found the microwave, 2-ring electric hob, toaster were all I needed for cooking - and the Woolpack pub is literally walking distance! The location in Sopley gives very easy access to the depths of the New Forest as well as larger towns like Christchurch and Lymington. The hut is accessed by 5 relatively shallow steps - I walk with a stick due to arthritis but I managed these quite easily. A lovely stay and I hope I can come again.

A beautiful little hut!
Lovely little touches such as eggs,milk and chocolates. Extremely comfortable bed, we slept very well! Lovely neighbours (chickens) who welcomed us but we're not noisy. Amazing shower. Weather didn't allow us to use the hot tub, but looked very inviting, and with gates closed, good privacy. The pub food was awesome with friendly hosts. Great location for local sites, for walks and visiting. Will be back hopefully when weather better. Thanks Alan.

Absolutely gorgeous little hut, both inside and out.
Furnishings inside were beautiful, and the outside was maintained efficiently. Fresh linen and basics like tra, coffee and milk were all provided. The hottub was beautiful and maintained daily. So much to see and do around the area, and the owners provided helpful info sheets for this if you wanted to use them. The chickens were cute, too. 10/10 would recommend

This cabin stay was everything we hoped for and more!
We booked it for my partner's birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. The space was super clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The early check-in we requested was kindly arranged, which made the day even smoother and more special. The hot tub was spotless and ready to enjoy, and the outdoor area was a highlight-beautifully lit in the evening with several places to relax and unwind. It created the perfect atmosphere. Little extras like orange juice, milk, and water were such a thoughtful touch too. Every detail was taken care of-we couldn't have asked for a better getaway. .. Our week at the Happy Hut. First of all, yes we stayed for the full 7 days and there is absolutely no storage for clothes. This meant we lived out of our suitcases. Turns out it was a complete blessing. When you can't be bothered to go rifling through your case to change your outfit you create less washing and we also had no packing on our last day! Win win. The Hut itself is exactly as described. It's adorable. Beautifully appointed and we wanted for nothing. Comfy bed. Great shower. Coffee machine (very important) every utensil you can think of and all necessary electrical goods. There were some lovely added extras like dressing gowns and blankets too. Cannot fault the hut. The plot was idyllic. You are truly surrounded by what feels like you own personal forest. Fairy lights, fire pit and a BBQ add to the fun. The comfiest garden chairs ever and a wonderful hot tub. What more could you want?? Well if it's a pen full of chickens you are in luck. I mean I'm not a huge fan but they did make me giggle and seemed very pleased to see us when we would come out in the morning or return from a day out.. The Woolpack Inn serves beautiful food and is in walking distance if you want a drink or three. The Happy Hut is an excellent base to explore beautiful Dorset. We were truly spoiled by the weather and made it to Durdle Door which was breathtaking in more ways than one!! My one piece of advice if you choose a stay at The Happy Hut is to go with someone who will appreciate the utter romance on offer. It really is a little bit of paradise. Thank you

Although sad to leave, we felt totally refreshed and relaxed. We can’t fault anything at all. It was exactly what we had hoped for and more. We immediately felt comfortable and the shepherds hut was so cosy with everything we needed and more. Private, romantic and perfectly placed. We loved our neighbours at Cluckingham Palace too! The Happy Hut was in a perfect location for us we had a great time exploring the forest and the beaches.
The facilities were ok but the outside area was very untidy. The tree was growing over the door into the hut. The grass was dead and there were lots of brambles around the hot tub. Unfortunately it wasn’t very pleasant to sit outside. The hut inside was ok but the bathroom was very small. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The eggs were lovely but no wooden spoon to cook scrambled eggs with
Thankyou for your feedback, The green areas are left majority unkept to make it feel as natural as possible for wildlife with the brook and woodlands running along side it. I have now given it a good prune back of the prickly stuff! Everything is growing like mad in the sunshine! There is a large decking area to sit out on and a clear pathway to the hot tub. Glad you liked the welcome pack of goodies as-well as the eggs from your neighbours and the lovely wildlife you saw. We have the largest hut size and the en-suite size was standard but I agree it’s taken up mainly by the big shower. This little hut was amazing!
clean,warm and cosy with everything you could possibly need .The bed was very comfortable there were flowers ,fresh eggs ,Prosecco and a fridge of essentials . The local pub is within walking distance and very good for food .The hot tub was lovely. A great few days away in a lovely area .We have already recommended it to friends and family and looking forward to another visit soon .

Good morning catching up on administrative duties. So sorry yea about the hot tub. These instances are unforeseen the main priority for my clients is the wellbeing health and safety. With this in mind this particular instance I recall I could not gain the correct PH levels after the empty and clean, and then back up to the desired temperature. A nice shepherd's hut in a nice quiet village, hot tub was ready on arrival, wood and lighter left for the fire pit.
Alan had even left tea & coffee as well as basic amenities. Nearby (0.1 Mile) pub had decent food. Plenty of places to visit near(ish) by.

What a gem of a place for a weekend away in Dorset.
The Happy Hut was excellent, beautiful interior and exterior, with a lovely outside space complete with excellent hot tub and fire pit / barbecue area. Sadly the british weather in Feb did not lend itself to the bbq / fire pit (would be great in warmer weather) but we took full advantage of the hot tub! Some lovely welcoming touches from the host in the room, including fresh flowers and a bottle of prosecco! Hut itself was very cosy. Highly recommened and would definitely stay again!

We had a really lovely long weekend stay at the happy hut.
Despite the storm outside, the hut was warm, comfy and cosy. Great facilities, it had everything we needed. Thank you to the owners for the welcome basket, and supplies in the fridge. Pub was less than a minute walk from the hut, and lots of other local pubs as well. It was nice to have the recommendation letter from the owner to help us decide where to eat or visit. We would recommend the Happy Hut, and visit again. Thank you

We had a lovely welcome letter with listings of local pubs cafes butchers etc.
We also had a bottle of Prosecco, fresh eggs, Lindt chocolates and in the fridge was bottled water, milk and fresh orange juice! Beautiful white super soft dressing gowns were provided and they smelt so fresh. The hot tub was a great bonus. We have nothing to fault about our stay. Clean and very cosy and definitely warm enough! We stayed December the 27th 2024. Nice private setting. The pub was literally a two minute walk! The hut was extremely well equipped and cosy, with so many thoughtful additions. Alan was a perfect host, accommodating and communicable. Highly recommend - we'd love to stay again!

We had an amazing stay at The Happy Hut and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a cosy getaway in a stunning location.
The Hut is incredibly comfortable, spotless, and equipped with everything you could possibly need, with so many thoughtful touches throughout. Plus, the outdoor hot tub was an absolute treat! Alan was a wonderful host, ensuring we felt right at home and well taken care of. We would love to come back again!

What a gem of a place, it may be small but punches above it’s weight.
We had a lovely short break in the Happy Hut, clean and comfortable. After spending days exploring it was great to chill out in the hot tub in the evenings. Prosecco and fresh eggs from the girls next door was a nice touch as well. Thank you for sharing your place!

Alan gave me a call to make sure that we would be catered for on our arrival, this was much appreciated and thoughtful.
The Happy Hut was clean, comfortable and simply delightful. Alan had fresh Roses, Milk, water, Fresh Orange Juice, Bottle of Prosecco and Organic Eggs from his chickens!!!! The Hot Tub was a BIG surprise. Loved every moment and was very sad when we had to leave the Happy Hut. Highly Recommended

Very comfortable and well-appointed accommodation in a lovely venue.
I can’t make any suggestions since everything has been thought of for the guests! It provided a great place to explore Hampshire and Dorset but the local pub and farm shop were excellent and well worth a visit as well.

The Happy hut at Sopley is a lovely secluded shepherds hut in a small village with a very nice pub that’s a two minute walk away.
The hut itself is an absolute delight with everything included that you might need and more. The hot tub is situated down a elegant stoned path with stepping stones so you can walk barefoot to it. It is set amongst trees ferns and Lily’s. The lights in the trees are a lovely surprise as it gets dusk. The little extra touches as you arrive in the hut are a welcome treat. We loved our time there and would recommend a few days there to any couple for a quiet get away. The area of Dorset has lots of places to see with plenty of walking. Can’t say enough about our time at The Happy Hut

Just home from a wonderful week at the Happy Hut.
I can’t rate this fantastic accommodation highly enough! Alan & Julie have decorated and equipped it to a really high standard. It’s set in a beautiful private secluded garden with a fire pit and a hot tub! There was also the added bonus of fresh eggs every morning from the chickens next door. Was really sad to be leaving and will definitely be visiting again.

Excellent welcome pack on arrival.
Owner met us at arrival and explained everything. The hut is immaculate and although small it is amazing how everything is fitted in so well and so stylishly. A very nice surprise to find there is now a hot tub. We enjoyed using this after a day out exploring. Location is excellent with so many fantastic places to visit nearby. We did eat twice at the woolpack and the food is fantastic (especially the Sunday roast!). Would highly recommend this quirky rental.

Me and my partner stayed here early July, beautiful setting, lovley shepards hut.
Came with hot tub, seating outside, beautiful lighting and a bbq. Everything you need to relax on a wek away. We would highly recommend.

Had a lovely week in the Happy hut, the hot tub was amazing and it was lovely to be greeted with the chickens, they were so friendly, miss them already, Happy hut had everything we needed for a comfortable stay but only 1 little drawback maybe a outside broom would help as when its windy the decking gets covered with leaves and bits which kept getting inside other than that perfect, The Happy hut is situated in a beautiful place a real little gem that we would like to visit again in the future.

Perfect for a couple’s getaway with everything you need for a quiet relaxing break. Well-equipped and spotlessly clean with lovely outdoor space including a new hot tub! Thank you for the ‘extras’ - so nice to find a selection of hot and cold drinks and eggs from the girls ‘next door’.
