We really enjoyed our week.

A cosy property which was well equipped. Ideal for bringing our dogs with many well marked footpaths straight from the door. Lovely area to explore.

Loved this place.

Great for getting away from it, with some nice dog walks and country pubs near by!

This was as it was advertised a lovely layout and super comfortable bed what it doesn't say is how charming the whole layout was and layout the area, we went for Christmas to just chill out not go anywhere and it was just perfect we couldn't have asked for better the owner checked in on us via text gave us a recommendation for a indian that would deliver just the perfect break thank you so much

My parents instilled in me that if you can’t say something nice about someone or something then don’t speak.

However,for the sake of future guests I feel that I must expand on this as follows; on arrival our Spaniel was overly interested in the sofa in the bedroom it transpired that amongst the myriad of cobwebs was a recently expired mouse. Furthermore on retiring for the night we were horrified to find that the bedsheet was blood stained. Finally I would seriously advise should you wish to stay at this poolside shed in Autumn then arm yourself with ear defenders due to the constant noise coming from the acorns hammering on the roof, akin to trying to sleep inside a drum. I hope that these reflections are helpful to the owners so they can take on board and expand their business.

We enjoyed our break at Woodmancote and found the lodge to be clean and comfortable.

Walking and carrying luggage across the paddock to reach the lodge was a bit of a challenge after heavy rain, but it wasn't too far. We were disappointed that, although the listing stated there was a Sky box, it did not provide a login, resulting in a very limited range of channels. The lodge was dog-friendly with some outside space for our two to explore. We did find that visitors to the stables attached to the property let their dogs off the lead and they chased ours, which was not ideal. The lodge was in a good location with easy access to the surrounding towns and attractions. The Weald and Downland Museum was excellent and dog-friendly. The downside we found was that most of the other museums and attractions did not accept dogs, which was a shame. We visited Petworth House and enjoyed the gardens and tag-teamed while we each visited the house itself, a must-do to see all the wonderful artworks.

My partner and I immediately took to the property in terms of the beautiful, tranquil location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and exploring the immediate area which has much to offer. We were glad to meet Melanie and Daniel and very much look forward to returning later in the year' (Philip/Charles)

Idyllic little cabin, very peaceful.

Sauna was an added bonus. Unfortunately our stay started the weekend of Storm Darragh, this resulted in a very muddy walk over the paddock, thank goodness for hiking boots.

The Lodge is a great place to stay if you want amazing wooded walks straight from the door, which lead into a National Trust Nature Reserve.

Our border collie was in heaven!

We had a lovely stay, everything was excellent.

Great location and very clean. Lovely, quiet and private lodge. The host was lovely. Lots of wildlife. We stayed a Woodmancote Lodge for our trip to The Goodwood Festival of Speed and booked for a great price, however when looking to book the lodge again for next year, the price was considerably higher and unfortunately out of our price range , which is sad because we definitely would have booked again.

This wonderful secluded lodge has everything you need for the perfect relaxing getaway to recharge your batteries.

Comfortable enough for two with a dog. Quiet, secluded and plenty of good walking and pubs within short drives.

Lovely quiet place with a cute patio area to chill in the sun.

Close to a small town and lots of forest walks, but far enough away to feel in the middle of nature. The sauna is literally amazing too, never felt so relaxed!

Unfortunately felt this property needed some TLC, looked tired and relatively uncared for.

Had to get to the property through a muddy paddock, which I know is due to the wettest February on record, but there was no decent doormat for muddy boots and no floor cleaning equipment. This was rectified when we phoned the owners, but felt this should already be in the property. Fire extinguisher expired in 2007 and beware if yore allergic to feathers as they were coming out of the sofa.

Had a relaxing few days and the owner was very helpful on our needs.

We had a wonderful stay at Woodmancote.

We were made to feel so welcome, and the owners were always on hand to answer questions. The lodge was beautifully maintained and decorated, and was full of nice little touches like Christmas decorations, a Christmas cake, and some chocolate. The heating had been put for us, so it was warm and cosy on arrival. The beds were both very comfortable, and we slept like logs! The kitchenette was well equipped and we had everything we needed to cook our Christmas dinner. It was great to have a sauna after walking around the beautiful countryside - there's plenty to do in the surrounding area too. In the winter you'll definitely need wellies though! It was the perfect choice for a peaceful getaway, and we'd definitely return. We brought our cats with us and even they seemed to love it. We so enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.

The accommodation was no more than a shed.

It was not cleaned adequately, dog hairs from previous dogs and the rugs were vile. To get to the property we had to walk through a muddy paddock which shouldn’t have been a problem but there was nothing to clean the floor with. The sink had a leak and was spilling water into the only cupboard where cooking utensils and cutlery was housed. All plates, cups and glasses were just left on a high shelf which I struggled to reach. We had dogs from a person tending the horses come into the “secure “area round the Lodge. problems were too many to put here. We were booked for a week but only stayed 4 nights. I wish I could put some positives on here but there really weren’t any.

A lovely place to base ourselves and explore the local area.

Mel was very helpful and welcoming and the lodge was a lovely little place to stay. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the sauna as there was some electrical problem. It would have been very welcome after all the walking we done. Again Mel was very apologetic about this and tried to get it repaired whilst we were there but couldn't. We still had a good time though.

A lovely Lodge in the beautiful countryside.

Great location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A larger enclosed area for the dog would have been welcome. The equipment in the nearby shed was a bit noisy. Otherwise we would give 5*.

Comfortable and well equipped lodge with private outdoor seating area, in quiet rural location.

Excellent area for exploring walks on south downs and heathlands, National Trust properties and further afield - south coast beaches.

Small, but perfectly appointed cottage with everything you could need, plus the added bonus of your own sauna.

It is very close to the main house, so it's not as private as some other properties perhaps, but lovely for a short break. Dog friendly.

We enjoyed the peaceful location of Woodmancote Lodge.

However, it was so near Haslemere, Chichester and Midhurst, so you had all the convenience and architecture of those towns to enjoy. An excellent retreat to enjoy the South Downs, Hampshire Hangars and the South Coast. Would highly recommend.

The plot this property sits on is extremely private and exceeded our expectations.

Really comfortable bed and pillows too and the kitchen is well equipped.

The cottage was extremely well presented and very comfortable.

An overall good place to stay for a few days, everything was in check and working, however there is a window in the bathroom that looks into the main house and doesn’t have a curtain, this caused a bit of uncertainty with us The overall stay was very enjoyable and the sauna was nice to come back too after a cold walk

Woodmancote Lodge, was a delightful hidden gem, and the owners where very welcoming ;)) The lodge was very clean, and super cozy and enjoyed using the sauna when it was raining outside.

Nice walks around the Estate and felt like I was cut away from all the noise of the City ! Would love to come back over the winter months again;))

We felt really looked after and cared for. The area is peaceful and the accommodation was so cosy, just what we needed after a hectic xmas. Even though there was a small heater it was very warm and the sauna was a welcome addition. We will recommend to friends & family.

Perfect place to take your Doggy. We could hear the Owl right outside at night.

This has been an excellent experience, the cosy lodge was ideal for us being a family of three (1-year-old child).

There is no baby cot but we felt comfortable all together in the double bed, bigger children can also use the bunk bed but this was no option for our little one. The sauna is very easy to handle and the surroundings with horses, hens and a cat were amazing for our daughter. Thank you a lot for the warm welcome with a delicious lemon cake. Definitely would rent the lodge again!

We had a lovely week here, in this nice & tucked away lodge for 2 even 3, with a lot of privacy in a quiet area.

Quaint little lodge hidden away in lovely countryside, ideal for getting away from today’s busy lifestyle.

Suggestion - a blind for the velux window to keep daylight out in the morning & also helps to keep the hot sun out during the day

Lovely little lodge in a beautiful part of the country.

Host was so helpful and kind assisting with stabling for the ponies last minute. I was impressed with the clean facilities, sweet decor and cosy feel to the place. I would highly recommend the lodge to anyone wanting to switch off for a few days in beautiful peaceful surrounding with ponies in the field next door. A very pleasant quiet location ideal for a couple.

The property is one room and double bed has a high bunk above for children but this would be to cramped for a family to be comfortable

Was a lovely cottage we had a great stay with our little puppy so relaxing and sauna was a great extra we would recommend this place for the couple who wants to get away from the stress and hustle and bustle

Excellent quiet venue with great facilities for the dog.

Cottage was perfect for my stay and the additional access to a walk on the site for the dog was a lovely bonus

The hosts have thought of everything,from instructions on how to operate things to suggestions of places to visit, the lodge is perfect with many extra little touches,the grounds are beautiful.

We had such a relaxing time here and can not wait to go back.

Let me start of by saying this place is beautiful!

So quite and peaceful. If your looking for long walks with plenty of scenery this is the right place for you. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves the great outdoors.

Accommodation is a large, comfortable, well equipped summerhouse.

There aren't any wardrobes but plenty of clothes hanging space and if you don't use the sauna, a large walk in cupboard. V. adequate heating if required. Right in the middle of wonderful walking country and easy access to main roads if want to travel further. Right next to stables with four beautiful horses. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely accommodation in a very beautiful place!

The Lodge is very well equipped being small and perfectly formed - but with enough space to more than comfortable for my one week stay with my dog Mutlu! The weather was fantastic; we explored Lynchmere Common - getting lost more than once - and enjoyed sitting out in the secure garden (Mutlu is a free spirit and likes to go exploring on his own, when he gets the chance) with a pink gin - that was me obviously, not the dog!! Can't recommend this place highly enough, was a perfect get away and we'll be booking again. Sarah & Mutlu

This is the second visit so we were familiar with the facilities.

. We take our grandchild whilst his mother is working. It is perfect for him but he is now 12 and getting too big to fit in the upper bunk. So reluctantly this will be our last visit.

A superb lodge in a lovely location, surrounded by stunning countryside and quirky villages.

The lodge was equipped with everything you would need for a break away. The hosts were really helpful with local knowledge and suggestions on places to visit. A perfect location to get away and recharge your batteries from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We had a pleasant stay for 3 nights but feel the facilities could be slightly better.

One cooking hob would switch itself off randomly, it took us 50 minutes to cook some sausages. The bbq was a bonus but with only one filthy cooking untensil. Cleanliness was good but a lot of dead flies and cobwebs around the skylight which also needs a blind as in June it was broad daylight in there at 4.30am. These are only minor issues from what otherwise was a quiet location in a beautiful area, lovely lemon cake on arrival too.

We enjoyed our stay in this cottage.

However we did not meet the owners & the oft mentioned baked goods were not a part of our experience. The cottage is cosy, but more than adequate for a small family. Lots to see and do in the local area.

This is the type of break you need if you have a pet and likes walking

A peaceful and relaxing setting,well placed for exploring the South Downs National Park.

We felt very welcomed by the lovely cake and mulled wine.

And the sauna was perfect for the cold evenings.

We booked linchmere lodge for a week beginning nov 3rd .

When we arrived just after 4 in the afternoon there was nobody there to meet us so we let ourselves in and thought we would make a cup of tea and iwait for the owner of the lodge to come and meet us but there were no cups . On looking around we noticed there was nowhere to hang your clothes and no storage facilities at all in fact the lodge was basically a shed with a shower and sauna installed in it the flat screen tv was a small tv mounted on the wall most of this cottage description is totally false .it was so disappointing and i definitely would advise people to ignore this property and stay as far away from it as possible out of one week that we booked we stayed for one and a half hour and drove home the owner was not even bothered or apologetic and the company and the owner did not even return our money i will not be booking with these people again

Enjoyed our stay at Woodmancote Lodge.

We were looking for a reasonably priced self-catering for ourselves and dog; this former swimming pool changing room with sauna fitted the bill. There were a couple of issues...the wi-fi was very average (one day I gave up on it); the bottom of shower door leaked; and although advertised as Sky TV, it is not. It runs freesat through a Sky box but, at the time of writing, it is not subscribed to Sky and no Sky channels are available only Freeview channels. Did not use the sauna but very handy space for suitcases instead. Many thanks for the cake. Weather was very good for time of year. Had a good stay overall.

The friendliness of the landlady and landlord - both really helpful and great atmosphere - open-minded and generous - great welcome with lemon cake - a quiet place just convenient for us.

absolutely ideal for us.

2 active grandparents and an over active 11 year old. The pool was a godsend Had to fish child out to go anywhere else. Lots to do within an hours radius. Weather wasn't that good but it didn't matter.

location fabulous, cottage just perfect so, so cosy, owner so lovely really made us feel right at home.

Cannot fault anything and even the extra perks the pool the baking the horses and the adorable puppies were fantastic didn't really want to go!
