“A welcome pack would have been appreciated, particularly instructions on how to turn the central heating / towel rails on.”

The description of the property lists and shows a gas fire as one of the features; unfortunately the fire does not seem to be connected to a gas supply. Fortunately, as the weather was mild, we were able to keep the property at an acceptable level with the small plug-in radiator provided. The description of the property lists and shows a gas fire as one of the features; unfortunately the fire does not seem to be connected to a gas supply. Fortunately, as the weather was mild, we were able to keep the property at an acceptable level with the small plug-in radiator provided. In the main living area there is only usable power socket, the other is used by the router, fortunately, we had brought an extension block which enabled us to charge phone / Ipad / computer and use the lamp provided. It would have been helpful to have rechargeable bedside lamps in the main bedroom; the single power socket was not placed to enable a bedside lamp to be used even if one had been provided. There was limited facilities for storage of bags etc. As there was only two of us we were able to use the two smaller bedrooms for this purpose, a family might find storage a bit of a challenge. We were grateful for the walk in shower and the gas hob. The provision of more saucepan lids / an extractor fan would have prevented a build up of steam in the property.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I’m genuinely sorry that parts of your stay weren’t as smooth as they should have been. A welcome pack is always provided, so I’m sorry it wasn’t there for you this time. We also have several emergency contact numbers, and I hope you were able to contact one of us so we could assist you with the heating issue. With the heating, the system usually comes on once the thermostat is set above 25 °C — but I can see how this might not have been very clear, and we’ll make sure our instructions are more precise. As for the sockets, storage, and extractor fan, these are part of the caravan’s design, though your comments are constructive and we’ll gladly pass them along to the park. We really appreciate you bringing these points to our attention, and we’d love the chance to welcome you back for a more comfortable stay in the future. Warm regards, Property Owner

About the location

NORTHWOOD, ISLE OF WIGHT

Cowes 2 miles.

The friendly little community of Northwood is found on the southern boundary of Cowes, at the northern end of the Isle of Wight. The centre of the quaint town of Cowes, probably best known for its sailing heritage, is just 2 miles away. Home of the Royal Yacht Squadron and host to the world famous 'Cowes Week' each summer, Cowes offers visitors a good selection of shops and restaurants, and from there you can also take one of the regular scenic boat trips on offer, or head across the floating bridge to East Cowes, where a visit to Queen Victoria's splendid summer villa at Osborne House is a must. Alternatively, take a walk along the coastal path to the beach at nearby Gurnard or Thorness Bay. This area provides a superb base from which to explore the many delights this wonderful island has to offer, including Godshill, Carisbrooke Castle and The Needles.
