    “Our stay last week at Plimoth 8 was fabulous.”

    It was a delightful cottage, beautifully equipped, clean and tidy. Every small detail has been thoughtfully provided. Excellent wi-do. The decor really made us feel we were on holiday. The beds and pillows were comfortable and clean for a restful nights sleep . It’s a super location from which to explore the Island with a sunny aspect and a decked area to enjoy the evening sun after a busy day. We loved it and will be back. Claire & Graham

    Dear Claire and Graham. We are so glad you loved the cottage. We try very hard to think of your every need, and have put lots of extra touches in the cottage for our guests use, and to make our ‘Special Happy Place’ your home from home. Also, it is our pleasure to be able to book your discounted ferry for you. We can generally get about a 60% discount on ferry bookings through our own commercial ferry account which we extend for our guests benefit. This season we have redecorated, put in new soft furnishings, and we have installed a brand new full width decking area and BBQ area. This gives guests a lovely space to enjoy the sunsets with a cooling drink in the evening and entertain the family, with sun beds and patio furniture. We are so glad you enjoyed that space. About the location

YARMOUTH

Newport 12 miles; Ryde 18 miles.

The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s narrow streets are home to an attractive array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry VIII’s castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling (and a cycle hire shop) and walking to be had along the coastal path. Why not take an energetic stroll at the nearby Tennyson Down and Headon Warren. Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, with Colwell Bay with its sandy beach and amenities for the family 7 minutes away by car. Yarmouth's pier and sailing club jetty is another good spot for crabbing. Four miles away is Compton Bay, famous for dinosaur remains; head there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.
