    “We stayed at Plimoth 8, 17th to 23rd June 2025.”

    We had great communication from the hosts and on arrival we had a lovely welcome pack. The apartment was clean, tidy, cosy, very quiet and had beach themed decor throughout. It had a well equipped kitchen. A lovely garden area with a wonderful beach mural to look at. A table and chairs and 2 sunbeds. It was a suntrap and was quite hot. It needed a parasol for some shade. The grounds are well kept. There is a laundrette on site if needed. Parking was ok, we managed to park near the property when ...

The grounds are well kept. There is a laundrette on site if needed. Parking was ok, we managed to park near the property when we arrived and carried our luggage to the apartment, however when arriving back late from the festival we had to park in the additional carpark, there was no lighting until you reached the main strip. It was a great base for exploring the Isle of Wight and for the Festival. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

    Dear Pete & Shona. Thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted you loved the cottage, and found the decor and facilities to your liking. The weather that week was extremely hot, but the Island seems to experience little micro climates where our weather is so much better than the mainland. We are lucky to be one of the warmest places in the UK and the highest average hours of sunshine. Really hope you enjoyed the festival, the line up was fantastic! Your idea of a parasol is a great one, and we will be putting a parasol at the cottage imminently. Thank you for that idea. About the location

YARMOUTH

Newport 12 miles; Ryde 18 miles.

The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s narrow streets are home to an attractive array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry VIII’s castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling (and a cycle hire shop) and walking to be had along the coastal path. Why not take an energetic stroll at the nearby Tennyson Down and Headon Warren. Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, with Colwell Bay with its sandy beach and amenities for the family 7 minutes away by car. Yarmouth's pier and sailing club jetty is another good spot for crabbing. Four miles away is Compton Bay, famous for dinosaur remains; head there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.
