The Artist's Cabin By The Sea
Description
The Artist's Cabin By The Sea is a charming, timber-framed building perfect for cosy winter getaways and summer seaside holidays for two.
This peaceful, well-designed cabin is filled with original artworks, squidgy, comfy sofas, a woodburning stove, lots of storage and a well equipped kitchen.
Tucked away from the crowds but only a short walk to the pebbly shore it makes a perfect retreat.
With views to the sea from the private front deck and a pebbly seaside garden at the back there is lots of space for outside living.
Carefully designed by the owner to give maximum comfort in a stylish small space, the cabin has room for comfortable dining inside and out, and plenty of storage for clothes and walking gear etc. The property overlooks the North Sea in a quiet spot between the Victorian seaside town of Herne Bay and the site of an ancient Roman Fort at Reculver.
Walk across the clifftop and retrace the steps of oyster fishermen and roman soldiers alike, with incredible vistas across the sea and the Kent countryside.
Parking is available for one car, on the street in front of the property.
The Artist's Cabin By The Sea is situated about 300 meters from the pebbly shore, accessed by a wide winding path, loved by walkers, wild swimmers and explorers searching for ammonites or shark’s teeth fossils.
In the village, which is a short walk there are two well-stocked local shops, a friendly micro pub serving Kentish Ales and a bigger pub which serves food, the village fish and chip shop is excellent.
There is a large Sainsbury’s ten minutes drive away.
The Artist's Cabin By The Sea is a fantastic location for exploring the coast of Kent, with Herne Bay offering a great many amenities, including, shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants.

What guests are saying
The cabin is lovely and super close to the beach - just a quick saunter down the hill.
It is well designed throughout, loads of storage options available, very comfortable armchairs and bed, nice towels and linen. The log burner also helped to make for a cosy space, you'll need to buy your own wood beyond the first night. The kichen has everything you'll likely need for a short stay and nice to see eco friendly cleaning products being supplied. The issue with there being no sink in the small bathroom is reported by other reviewers, you can actually wash your hands in the shower but the kitchen sink is needed for teeth cleaning (and shaving) - it wasn't a massive problem for us. One detail I wish I had spotted sooner was that the cabin is some way from Herne Bay, in a place called Beltinge. When I originally booked I had thought we would be more central and be able to take trains to places for days out/meals etc., that isn't really an option. The location really demands a car or use of cabs. Beltinge is cute though, the local fish and chips are amazing, and there's a cute little micro pub with friendly locals.
