Lakeside Lodge

We had a great time at the Lakeside lodge.

The house is modern en well-equipped, with beautiful view on the lake.

What a stunning lodge in an equally stunning location.

Loads of places to visit in the area, particularly if you're National Trust or Historic Houses members. Penshurst Place, Michelham Priory and Dover Castle were excellent. Extremely warm weather for our two weeks, so the fans were very welcome especially as property gets the sun all day at the rear. Spotlessly clean. Lovely mix of ecclectic furniture in lounge, but very comfortable, but chair coverings were a little itchy. Great having ensuites with all 3 bedrooms. Enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings listening to the birds, watching the young bunnies playing very close to property, dragonflies darting around everywhere, even spotted a few foxes and a badger. Metal bed downstairs does creak quite a lot. Overall, a fantastic place and would definitely return in the future, maybe in the Autumn or Spring. Thank you.

An outstanding property in a stunning setting.

So peaceful and relaxing overlooking lakes and surrounded by trees and wildlife! Lodge so well equipped with very comfortable beds and furnishings, artwork and amazing bathrooms. Best holiday home we have stayed in, will definitely book again. Thank you

What a luxury lodge we have just been to.

Everything you could ever need is there and lots of extras too. Its just so wonderful to be in the countryside, so peaceful and to sit and soak up the lake views and surroundings. So roomy inside and all the rooms so tastefully decorated. Lovely comfy beds and en suite bathrooms. We had family for some of the time there and they were all as impressed as we are. Its the best Sykes property we have ever been to and have booked to go back again. Its 10/10 from us all. Roger & Monica

The lodge is fantastic, everything top notch, it's been so well done. The surroundings are stunning and you really feel like you are in your own little bubble. No traffic noise, just the sounds of nature to help relax you. We will definitely be back.

Lakeside lodge is the most beautiful property and perfect for a family of 4-6.

A breathtaking house to stay in.

Quite,quite beautiful. And the location is delightful. So unbelievably peaceful. Sitting out in the evening listening to the birds ,and owls even. And in the, day time,watching ripples and reflections on the water and the sunlight catching the last of the leaves on the silver birches. The kitchen is magnificent. The decor throughout is way beyond that of most holiday houses. The whole feeling of comfort. And finally the soothing views from every window throughout the living kitchen area. And no expense has been spared in making the en-suite bedrooms fabulously comfortable.

Loved the lodge, idyllic setting and very enjoyable sitting on the balcony looking at the view, luxurious furnishings and wonderful welcoming touch of having milk and beer in the fridge and cake on arrival.

Found the lodge to be in a very good location particularly for national trust and English heritage properties in the area. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would definitely return

Comfortable beds and everything you could possibly need- a proper home away from home! Can’t wait to come back.

This is a top-line property fitted out to a very high standard with everything clean and new and none of the usual penny-pinching you often see in rentals.

Great situation too in a lovely part of the country. On target for a luxury break.

One of the best accommodations we have ever stayed in.

We felt we were right in the middle of nature, loved, loved hearing the Tawny owls calling at night. The tap room a very short walk away and we certainly did make use of it, Great place for all ages as also one bedroom is one the ground floor. Everything you possibly need for you break catered for. Definitely one I won’t for forget for a long time.

The lodge is beautifully decorated.

There is a huge amount of space inside. Beds are very comfortable. Lovely linen and towels. Plenty of cooking utensils. Everything very easy to use. Easy communication with the owners. A first rate experience.

We stayed at Lakedown Lodge with 6 people, including 2 children, and it was absolutely fantastic.

The lodge is set in a beautiful private estate with several trout lakes, its own taproom, and even blackberry bushes and apple trees. From the outside, it looks like a classic lodge, but inside it’s warm, homely, and tastefully decorated — everything feels brand new. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome: the house was stocked with everything we could possibly need, from coffee to their local beer. The lodge features a beautiful blend of classic and modern in the English-style bathrooms, complete with a bathtubs. The bedrooms are spacious with large, comfortable beds, and there’s fast Wi-Fi, an electric fireplace, and everything you need. The living room has big windows overlooking the estate, and one evening we even saw a fox passing right in front of us. The setting is peaceful and full of nature, perfect for both relaxation and exploring. Thanks to Rosie for her quick and friendly replies — everything was arranged perfectly. It truly exceeded our expectations, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique countryside escape.
