The farm itself is such a highlight too; the owners are lovely and welcoming, and it’s been great exploring the grounds and meeting the animals - especially the goats, the chickens, and the ducks and geese around the pretty pond. If you don't fancy travelling, you can just stay at the farm and enjoy the grounds, which we certainly did when we brought our dog on our second visit! We were total 'aliens to Kent' having never holidayed in this part of the country before, but we’ve been really impressed by how much there is to do. The farm is ideally situated for exploring; by car, it’s an easy drive to places like Broadstairs, Margate, Dover, Folkestone, Deal, and Canterbury. We even made it to Dungeness Beach. We never in a month of Sundays imagined we'd get to see a decommissioned nuclear power station up close, let alone have dinner in a pub just a few hundred yards away from it! There are way more places than that to explore nearby too, including three amazing zoos: Wingham Wildlife Park, Howletts Wild Animal Park, and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park (we haven't made it to that one yet but look forward to doing so). There’s never a shortage of things to see and do, and there is even an excellent Chinese takeaway just three minutes away by car. For us, it’s just the perfect base in a beautiful location in the Kent Downs.
